Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

41: I’ll be live-streaming myself eating a big meal.Si Nan leisurely tapped on the surveillance screen, amusedly watching the dozens of people banging on the door. Of course, Si Nan knew what the Property Management knew; her hundreds of surveillance cameras weren’t installed for nothing.

These people had just finished looting the Property Management and now came here to try and take her things? They’d need to survive long enough to break in first.

One of them pointed at the warning posted on Si Nan’s door for Zhao Li to see: ”She says, ’Private property, trespassers will be killed.’ Should we still proceed?”

Someone knocked on the Courtyard Wall and said, ”Proceed? It’s as solid as a fortress. How can we proceed? And the wall is so high.”

”Yeah, we’d need to get up there first.” Others also started to have second thoughts, each looking up at the smooth Courtyard Wall.

Zhao Li gave the order, ”Go get a ladder. This height is nothing. I don’t believe she can catch us inside the Courtyard and throw us out one by one.

As long as one person climbs in and opens the door from the inside, this house and all the food she prepared in advance will be ours.”

”Alright, let’s do it!” Two people had already gone to fetch a ladder.

Inside, Si Nan, eating sugar-roasted chestnuts, almost laughed out loud. ”Hmm, good idea. Keep it up. Remember to get a tall ladder.”

Zhao Li thought Si Nan didn’t know his plan, so while he had many Property Owners surround the Courtyard Wall to look for weak spots, he stepped back to get a view of the circle of glass on the third-floor roof.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t see anything because, to outsiders, the glass looked like ordinary transparent glass. But only Si Nan knew that this glass was not only bulletproof but also blocked UV rays, blue light, and prevented peeping.

People outside couldn’t see inside, but for those inside, it was like looking through air, with everything in plain sight.

So, unaware of this, Zhao Li began to talk nonsense with his eyes wide open. ”Si Nan inside, please don’t misunderstand. We just heard you prepared food for the winter in advance, so we’ve come to borrow some grain.

Everyone says you’re a kind-hearted girl, and you’ve had a hard time without parents from a young age. If you don’t mind, you can come to my house and play with my daughter. She’s only two years younger than you. You girls must have a lot in common. Hehehe~”

”Heh, trying to lure me out of this house?” Si Nan tossed a chestnut into her mouth and chewed. ”May I ask who you are? Isn’t it tiring to pretend?”

”---”

Zhao Li gritted his teeth, staring at the third-floor glass. He was certain Si Nan was upstairs watching him. ”A girl speaking so harshly. What pretending? Look at all of us. Many are young, with elderly and children at home, and no food to eat.

Children are crying from hunger, haven’t eaten in two days. Can’t you take pity on those little brothers and sisters? Share a bit of your food with them. This would be your contribution to our community.”

She remembered in her previous life, it was this kind of naive kindness that got her deceived. Back then, Luo Sen protected her through countless hardships and life-and-death situations, and she only managed to return to this Villa after Luo Sen sacrificed himself.

When she returned, the community had already fallen, with Zombies everywhere. But her house was fine, unlike this time when she quickly heightened the walls, so it wasn’t breached by Zombies as fast.

On the third day after her return, survivors in the community, both men and women, she remembered several women holding children repeatedly begged her in the group chat to take them in.

Because their neighbors on both sides had turned into Zombies, their doors were attacked by Zombies daily, making it unsafe. They just wanted a safe place for themselves and their children.

At first, she refused. Later, that scumbag Gao Ming kept persuading her behind the scenes that there’s strength in numbers, and dealing with Zombies was urgent. Taking them in could help us fight Zombies, and the condition was just letting them stay in the Courtyard.

Look how sturdy her two-layer doors are. These weak women, holding children, how could they possibly break through our two-layer doors? And if we take them in, they’d be so grateful, they’d never have ill intentions.

And indeed, the children those women held were already skin and bones from hunger. The oldest was only three or four, and there were infants a few months old, so malnourished they were barely recognizable, truly pitiful.

Her naive kindness was swayed by Gao Ming’s words, and she agreed. That night, they planned to move into my Courtyard. But when she opened the Courtyard Gate, the number of people was twice what Gao Ming had said, and that didn’t include those later taken down by Zombies.

She immediately confronted Gao Ming in anger. Gao Ming dropped the act right away, and she was pushed by Xia Mi, almost hitting the Courtyard Wall. Then she fought with Gao Ming and the others.

But in the end, the difference in strength was too great, and she was beaten to death by Gao Ming and the others.

Thinking back now, she was as foolish as could be. In the Apocalypse, there’s only food and killing. Where is there room for emotions?

The memories were all tears. Now, history was about to repeat itself, but she was no longer the Si Nan from her previous life. These people were destined to be her enemies.

Zhao Li’s opening, with every sentence about food and caring for everyone present, made all those present look at him gratefully, almost to the point of tears and sobbing.

Someone shouted, ”Right, what’s a girl like you doing hoarding so much food? It’ll expire, mold, and rot soon. Why not be a good person and give two-thirds to us? My daughter is only three and a half, poor thing, she’s been hungry for two days.

I don’t want much. Just give me two bags of rice and five pounds of meat.”

”I don’t want much either. Give me three bags of flour and eight pounds of ribs.”

”Me too, me too. I don’t want meat. Just give me nine bags of rice. I heard the Property Management compensated you with ten years’ worth of rice. I’m only asking for nine bags.” Implying he had a conscience.

”Hahaha, ten years is only ten bags of rice, and you want nine.” Si Nan found it amusing, leisurely continuing to eat chestnuts.

”I want three bags of bread and ten boxes of instant noodles---”

In the end, Si Nan calculated that even a large truck couldn’t haul it all. They really weren’t holding back at all.

The people outside were still shouting when she suddenly said mischievously, ”You all must be hungry too, right? How about having lunch together? I’ve casually made a few dishes, not sure if they’ll suit everyone’s taste.

How about this: I’ll start a live stream, and you can see if you like them? If not, I’ll prepare a few more.”

She immediately took out twenty delicious dishes from her Space, arranged them on the table, each steaming hot and full of color, aroma, and flavor. Then she took out a bowl of fragrant rice and a pair of chopsticks, adjusted the angle to avoid the surrounding weapons, and started a live stream, broadcasting her feast for everyone.

”Here, neighbors outside the Courtyard Gate, watch closely. This is Braised Lion’s Head. I’ll taste it for you. Hmm, quite good, just a bit greasy if you eat too much.”
