Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

19: He’s taken advantage of me for ten years and he’s still so arrogant.”It’s me. What’s wrong, Manager Xue?” Just then, a staff member walked in from outside.

After Manager Xue explained the situation, the staff member immediately flipped open Si Nan’s Property Owner information, pointed at the phone number, and asked, ”Excuse me, is this your phone number?”

Si Nan took a look. ”It’s not mine; it’s my mother’s. But my mother passed away ten years ago—everyone in the neighborhood knows that. Besides, this number hasn’t been used since she died.”

”However, during the first year after my mother passed away, I came back to pick up some things and completed a handover with you guys. I left my own phone number then.”

”Back then, it was you who suggested I go to the bank to set up automatic Property Management fee deductions. If you don’t believe me, you can check the bank’s annual deduction vouchers; my phone number was used every single year.”

”You said you called me every year? Must have been a ghost, then.”

Si Nan nearly burst out laughing.

Manager Xue let out a long breath and immediately took out her phone to dial Si Nan’s mother’s number. Surprisingly, the call went through. She suppressed a gasp and spoke as normally as possible, ”Hello, is this the Property Owner of unit c-108, Miss Si Nan?”

The other end: ”Yes, who is this?”

Manager Xue: ”Hello, I am Manager Xue from Property Management. A gentleman has delivered a box of items for you, and we need you to come down and collect them in person. Are you available to pick them up now?”

The other end was extremely excited: ”Oh, what a coincidence! I don’t usually live here, but I came back today to check on things. I’ll be down right away.”

Manager Xue hung up and exchanged a glance with Si Nan. ”Miss Si, please wait a moment; the answer will be revealed soon. If there was any negligence on the part of our staff, I sincerely apologize on behalf of Property Management. I will immediately report this to my superiors and ensure you receive proper compensation.”

”Then thank you, Manager Xue.” Si Nan wasn’t an unreasonable person. Manager Xue’s service today had been perfect—decisive and efficient. She believed the people involved would be handled fairly.

Now, she wanted to see exactly who dared to reactivate her mother’s phone number and impersonate her to collect items.

Soon, a fashionably dressed woman in her early thirties arrived. She didn’t recognize the grown-up Si Nan. Upon entering, she announced herself, ”I am Si Nan. Who just called me? Where are the items?”

Behind her, the door to the Property Management office shut with a ”thud.” Manager Xue decisively ordered the staff, ”Call the Security Department immediately!”

The newcomer was confused but had an aggressive attitude. ”Wait a minute, why call the Security Department? You’ve got it wrong! I’m the Property Owner of unit c-108. How dare you!”

”Oh? If you’re Si Nan, the owner of 108, then who am I?” Si Nan remained seated, looking at the newcomer with a smile. The moment she saw the woman, she understood what was going on.

The woman looked at Si Nan’s familiar face, and her heart sank. ”You’re... Si Nan?”

She reacted instantly, rushing over to press down on the phone the staff member had just used to call for help.

”Don’t call! I was wrong—no, my mom was wrong. She just wanted to take advantage of some small benefits and had some inappropriate thoughts.”

”Si Nan, we’re distant relatives after all. It’s just some free stuff, isn’t it? There’s no need to make such a scene. We just won’t collect your things in the future.”

Si Nan was speechless. ”Hahaha, so you’re saying this is all my fault for being petty? Since I’m already being petty, why don’t I be petty to the very end?”

”Manager Xue, call 110 immediately. This woman who impersonated me, took my benefits for ten years, and is still this arrogant makes me very unhappy. I don’t want the Security Department; I want to dial 110.”

”Stealing two thousand yuan can land you in jail. You’ve impersonated me to collect items for ten years; the total value is well over ten thousand. With both crimes combined, how many years do you think you’ll get? My dear cousin, Cui Qingqing!”

Si Nan deliberately leaned closer to Cui Qingqing, her tone cold and mocking.

Originally, she just wanted to recover her belongings. But since this relative had spoken to her like that, there was no need to keep things quiet. She would blow this up and let the whole neighborhood know, just to vent her frustration.

”Si Nan, you—!” Cui Qingqing grit her teeth, her heavy makeup unable to hide her distorted face. She thought back to how Si Nan’s mother hadn’t helped her get into a famous company or find a good job. Otherwise, how could she and her mother have been tempted by such petty benefits?

Was her mother brain-dead? She knew Si Nan was back! Why did she still collect the items? Wasn’t that just asking for trouble?

But she didn’t know that Wang Meilan was just taking a chance, planning to collect this one last time and then stop. She was certain Si Nan wouldn’t check the Property Owner group chat because Si Nan hadn’t posted a single thing there in the past ten years.

Besides, since she was wealthy enough to renovate her house, she wouldn’t care about these small items even if she found out.

Unexpectedly, Si Nan did care. If Wang Meilan hadn’t continued her death-seeking behavior by blabbering in the group chat, the security lady wouldn’t have stopped Si Nan to mention it.

Manager Xue also hadn’t expected this Property Owner to be such a ”dead pig unafraid of boiling water.” Even after being exposed, she still maintained such a naturally arrogant attitude.

She was getting angry too, but if they called 110, the neighborhood’s reputation would suffer. She tried to negotiate with Si Nan, ”Miss Si, I support your decision to call the police, but could you give me a chance? This matter indeed involved negligence on the part of our Property Management; we didn’t update your phone number or handle the handover properly.”

”Let our Security Department handle it first. If you’re not satisfied with the outcome, you can still call 110. Is that okay?”

Si Nan thought about it. Calling the police would indeed waste a lot of her shopping time. It would be better to do Manager Xue a favor; perhaps the outcome would be more beneficial to her. If not, she could still call the police later.

Seeing Si Nan’s firm stance, Cui Qingqing felt immense hatred, even wanting to kill Si Nan on the spot. But if such a shameful matter spread, how could she face anyone in the future?

Si Nan was too loathsome!

If she ended up in the station or in prison, wouldn’t everything be ruined? That absolutely couldn’t happen!

Quickly weighing the pros and cons, Cui Qingqing suppressed her rage and feigned a plea for peace. ”Right, we’re relatives after all. It wouldn’t look good for anyone if this gets out. Let’s just settle it internally, okay?”

Si Nan glanced at her sideways with a cold sneer. ”If it gets out, it’s you who won’t look good, not me.”

”You—!” Cui Qingqing’s suppressed anger flared up again. She dug her nails hard into her palms to keep herself from exploding.

Si Nan didn’t bother with her and turned to Manager Xue. ”Fine. I appreciate your work competence and attitude, so I’ll give you this chance and hold off on calling 110 for now.”

”Great. Thank you very much for your trust, Miss Si. I will do my best to satisfy you. Please, Miss Si, come to my office for some tea.”

Manager Xue was delighted that Si Nan agreed. As long as there was a chance, the matter could be resolved. Miss Si clearly seemed like a well-bred girl, unlike the one from unit 104, who had the audacity to impersonate another Property Owner to take things yet still insisted on acting like a high-and-mighty wealthy young lady.
