Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

44: She won’t be happy until this person is eliminated. The brother and sister were startled when they heard this, ”What? You like that bloodthirsty Female Devil?”

”And she’s at least seven or eight years older than you. Are you suffering from a lack of motherly love?”

Over here, Si Nan, who was monitoring them, spat out the fresh juice in her mouth with a ”Pfft,” ”Good heavens, I’m only 24, okay? How did it become a lack of motherly love? Do I look that old?”

She walked over, checked her whole body in the mirror, and instantly burst with confidence, ”Hmph, the thinner me is quite beautiful. Although my skin isn’t like frosted cream, soft and delicate, at least I have plenty of collagen and no acne. What kind of look are you two giving me?”

Si Nan gave the pair of siblings a big eye-roll through the camera and continued eavesdropping.

Ma Bufan was bursting with vibrant hormones and nodded repeatedly, ”Yeah, yeah, I just like girls like Sister Si Nan. What’s wrong with being a few years older? True love has nothing to do with age.”

Guan Xiaoning finished the last sip of soup, put down his bowl and chopsticks with a ’clatter,’ ”Give it a rest, you brat. A single packet of instant noodles captured your restless, puppy-love heart. Can you have some ambition?”

Ma Bufan immediately pointed at the empty bowl and said, ”My ambition is Noodle Sister. Neither of you is allowed to slander the goddess sister in my heart. She is beautiful, cool, and awesome. I just want to find a girlfriend like that.”

”Slap! Wake up, kid. We’re having trouble surviving right now. Are you treating unrequited love like eating?”

Guan Xiaoning slapped Ma Bufan’s hand, and it sounded loud, ”Stop dreaming. We need to hurry up and secure the courtyard gate and house doors to prevent Lü Tao’s people from coming in to loot. Look, I brought all the kitchen knives, fruit knives, screwdrivers, and wrenches from home. We each take one and keep them under our pillows even when we sleep.”

”You’re the clever one. I didn’t even remind you, and you already brought weapons.”

”Of course. You should see who I am! Speaking of which, Sister Si Nan is really beautiful. You have good taste, kid. It would be even more beautiful if we could sit at the same table as her and eat the food she’s live-streaming. It’s making me drool.”

”Aiyo, both of you shut up. Hearing that just made me hungry again.”

”Hahaha~”

Si Nan listened to their laughter. These three youngsters weren’t bad for now. She checked the other surveillance feeds one by one; several buildings were already engaged in beatings and food theft, which was no longer uncommon.

Suddenly, she saw an unbelievable scene: someone was using the cover of the heavy snowfall to secretly drag away the corpses at her courtyard entrance. Could it be---these corpses were prepared rations?

It was winter, and the temperature was extremely low, so these corpses wouldn’t spoil. They became food reserves for those whose food supplies were low or who had been robbed. Cannibalism had already begun.

These people resorted to such crazy actions right at the beginning of the Apocalypse. In the face of hunger, people would really do anything. This served as another warning bell for her: in the Apocalypse, no one could be trusted.

Si Nan took a nap in the afternoon. When she woke up, Ma Bufan was desperately calling her. She had muted her phone before sleeping to avoid being disturbed. She opened Ma Bufan’s first voice message: ”Sister, it’s bad. Lü Tao and his group found a way to get into your house.”

”Ahhh, Sister, what are you doing? Reply quickly.”

”Sister? Sister?”

Si Nan: ”What way?”

Ma Bufan: ”Can you trade for a box of instant noodles and a few bags of Pickles?”

Si Nan: ”You know the rules.”

Ma Bufan immediately replied nimbly, ”Lü Tao ordered his three subordinates to find the Property Management’s Vehicle Lift.”

”Vehicle Lift? Property Management’s!” Si Nan’s eyes turned cold. ”They want to storm the place? Do you know when they plan to attack?”

Ma Bufan: ”Sister, those are two questions.”

”Answer satisfactorily, and I’ll give you the rice and Pickles.”

Ma Bufan immediately replied, ”One, a full-force assault. Two, tonight, which is why I’m anxious. You haven’t replied to my WeChat.”

”Go to the third floor and open the window.”

”Coming, Sister, you’re the best, Sister, you’re the most beautiful.” Ma Bufan ran upstairs excitedly.

Si Nan took a long stainless steel rod that was left over from modifying the small villa, sent over the rice and Pickles, concluding their transaction for the moment, and closed the bulletproof glass tightly.

She immediately inquired about the Vehicle Lift with the Security Sister. After getting the information she needed, she immediately tagged Security Section Chief Gu Jie: ”You can save yourselves, but you cannot aid the wicked.”

Gu Jie, seeing Si Nan’s sudden accusation, looked completely bewildered. He immediately added Si Nan as a friend privately and asked in the verification field, ”Aid the wicked? Please explain clearly; I don’t understand what you mean by that?”

She hadn’t added him yet. ”Why would you lend the Property Management’s Vehicle Lift to Lü Tao to deal with me?”

”Vehicle Lift? Impossible. Our Property Management’s Vehicle Lift is locked in the underground warehouse of the Engineering Department. Only two people were on duty in the Engineering Department on the day the virus broke out. The spare key is locked in our Security Department, and I always keep the cabinet key on me. It’s impossible for anyone to move the Vehicle Lift.”

Si Nan answered concisely: ”Go check the surveillance footage yourself.”

She was truly angry. Multiple disgusting massacre incidents had occurred in the complex, and so many people had been slaughtered, yet not a single one of the dozens of security guards had stepped forward to stop it.

Including this Section Chief, who now lent the Vehicle Lift to Lü Tao to deal with her. He was courting death!

Gu Jie repeatedly explained, ”Property Owner Si Nan, believe it or not, I truly did not lend the Vehicle Lift to Lü Tao. I am checking the surveillance footage now, and the results will be out soon. I will send them to you once we are friends. Also, Lü Tao is very cunning; he often destroys the surveillance cameras around his villa, so eventually, we stopped repairing them.”

So that’s how it was. No wonder that even though Lü Tao’s villa wasn’t far from hers, the surveillance couldn’t capture the situation around his villa. She had thought it was an area missed during the modification of the small villa, but it turned out that Lü Tao had his lackeys dismantle them, preventing her from monitoring Lü Tao’s every move.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have needed Ma Bufan to provide her with clues.

However, as long as Lü Tao left his villa, everything would fall back within her monitoring range. If this person wasn’t removed, she wouldn’t be happy.

Si Nan’s anger subsided slightly, and she accepted Gu Jie’s friend request: If it wasn’t Gu Jie, who else in the complex would want to kill her?

Gu Jie quickly found the footage. In the video, the security guard Tian Hui, before he died, pried open the Engineering Department’s warehouse door late at night and secretly took out the Vehicle Lift, placing it in a surveillance blind spot.

Because it was covered by white snow, the patrolling security guards didn’t notice it, allowing Lü Tao’s men to quietly drive it back to their courtyard. The Vehicle Lift was currently still in Lü Tao’s subordinate’s courtyard and hadn’t been brought out yet.

Gu Jie immediately understood and said in confusion, ”Lü Tao probably intended to use the Vehicle Lift to quietly enter Si Nan’s courtyard in the dead of night while she was sound asleep, catching her off guard, and taking her down without anyone noticing to seize her house and supplies. But how did Si Nan know Lü Tao’s plan in advance and directly question me?”
