Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

37: You don’t have that chance anymore.“Go over there now. If they don’t open the door, smash it open. I need to know everything about Si Nan immediately. If she really knew this terrible, inhumane virus was going to break out, then don’t blame me for not being gentle with women. Si Nan must die!

And I must take over her small villa, which is built sturdy and beautiful, and get all the supplies inside her house. Only then can I survive.”

Lü Tao said through gritted teeth, determined to deal with Si Nan.

Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang dared not delay any further. They immediately grabbed their weapons and left. They were extra cautious: before heading to Cui Qingqing’s home, they carefully approached Si Nan’s courtyard gate and pulled an arrow out of one of the corpses.

Then, with a ’swoosh,’ they left. Shortly after they departed, several powerful dogs, large as Tibetan Mastiffs, arrived. They were very strong, and one dog dragged a corpse away.

They were all pets kept by the Property Owners here, and they were all expensive breeds, usually well-fed and well-cared for. With the virus outbreak, the owners themselves were starving and had nothing to feed them, so they were all released last night under the cover of darkness.

The goal was for them to find stray cats or scavenge through garbage cans, but who would have thought that the smell of blood would trigger their savage instincts, causing them to start eating the corpses directly.

Meanwhile, the Property Management saw all of this through the Community Surveillance. ”Section Chief Gu, those dogs are eating—”

Section Chief Gu, the Security Section Chief left on duty after the zombie virus outbreak, merely closed his eyes and watched everything indifferently. ”Don’t worry about it. Just pretend you didn’t see anything. If they hadn’t attacked Si Nan or tried to scheme against her, they wouldn’t have been killed.

What’s important now is self-preservation. Don’t forget, all sorts of people live in this community. Take that Lü Tao, for instance; he is not someone to be trifled with.

The fact that he could openly harass Si Nan in the Property Owner Group shows he’s looking for trouble and doesn’t take Si Nan seriously.

But look, how many people who approached Si Nan have come back alive? She is the perfect opponent to restrain people like Lü Tao.

We shouldn’t do anything for now. We can’t do anything at this moment; taking sides will offend the other party. Let’s just pretend we don’t know and wait and see.”

Gu Jie truly lived up to his title as Security Section Chief; his mind was very clear, and his analysis of the community situation was spot-on.

The other guards immediately agreed upon hearing this. ”Section Chief Gu is right. At this time, self-preservation is the wisest choice.”

However, Gu Jie shook his head with a bitter smile. ”You are thinking too simply. We might be the easiest targets for Lü Tao to attack or hunt.”

”Huh? Why? We haven’t provoked him. Why would he attack or hunt us?” Everyone stood up in alarm, surrounding Gu Jie.

Gu Jie glanced at the subordinates around him and said, ”Did you forget? The community was recently distributing New Year supplies, and many Property Owners haven’t collected them for various reasons. Plus, there’s our Property Management’s large cafeteria. These are all life-saving foods that everyone desperately needs.

The reason the community is relatively calm right now is that everyone still has some surplus food at home. What happens once that runs out?”

”Oh my god, so that’s why! Is that why Section Chief Gu, you ordered us to move two-thirds of the rice and oil out of the warehouse overnight, and move all the other ingredients into the inconspicuous fire pipeline shaft?”

Several people looked at Gu Jie with admiring eyes.

”Mm.” Gu Jie nodded. ”Everyone remember, weapons must never leave your side. We are the security personnel here. We absolutely will not actively attack a Property Owner, but we cannot stand by and be killed either.

The weapons we carry and the limited food we have are our current life-saving charms. Everyone must unite and follow my orders. Only then can we all survive.”

”Yes, Section Chief Gu.” Everyone responded, but one person narrowed his eyes as he answered. This person was Tian Hui, the newly arrived guard who refused to open the door for Si Nan.

He hid it well, but Gu Jie still noticed him out of the corner of his eye and subtly winked at Yan Xueqing, who had followed him for three years.

Yan Xueqing immediately understood and suddenly put his arm around Tian Hui’s shoulder in a brotherly way, saying, ”What are you thinking about? Let’s go, it’s our turn for patrol.”

”Mm, nothing. Let’s go.” Tian Hui was very calm. He took his raincoat, put it on, and followed behind Yan Xueqing and the other guard out of the Security Office.

On the way, Yan Xueqing and the other colleague chatted about the increasingly cold weather, keeping their eyes and ears open.

Tian Hui, walking behind them, seemed lost in thought, wondering what he was thinking about. He almost slipped without noticing, but Yan Xueqing quickly grabbed him. ”What’s wrong? Are you sick? If you’re sick, you should say so. Section Chief Gu wouldn’t make you work while you’re sick.”

Tian Hui covered his stomach and said, ”I don’t know. Maybe I got cold last night. I had diarrhea this morning, and now I feel uncomfortable again.”

”Oh, well hurry up and go to the restroom.” Tian Hui exaggeratedly stepped back, waving his hands repeatedly at Yan Xueqing, and then pulled his colleague away.

As soon as the two left, Tian Hui’s stomach immediately stopped hurting. He quickly turned a corner and ran toward a pipeline shaft. He was fast; he opened the small door of the pipeline shaft, closed it immediately, and hid inside.

Soon, an excited voice came from inside: ”This is great! It’s true! Young Master Lü will be ecstatic when he finds out he can soon get all the Property Management’s supplies. He’ll definitely agree right away to make me his top follower.

As long as I follow Young Master Lü, I’ll kill Si Nan sooner or later. I’ve never forgotten the kick she gave me. When the time comes, I’ll kick her ten times! Hahaha~”

”You don’t have that chance anymore.”

Tian Hui, mid-laughter, had just opened the small door of the fire pipeline when he was hit ”bang” on the head with a police baton. His head immediately split open, and he collapsed before he could even scream.

Dying with his eyes wide open, he fell onto several barrels of oil and pointed at Yan Xueqing and the other person, saying, ”You—you did this on purpose.”

Yan Xueqing snorted coldly, ”Of course. No one can fool Section Chief Gu’s eyes. We didn’t want to turn on our own, but you secretly became Lü Tao’s dog, intending to use our supplies as a pledge of allegiance to him. We couldn’t keep you. Head on your way with a satisfying answer.”

The two men worked together to stuff Tian Hui’s corpse deeper into the pipeline shaft and quietly moved several barrels of oil away.

Meanwhile, Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang stood in Cui Qingqing’s empty home, looking at the room full of corpses, unable to believe their eyes. ”Who the hell did this?”

Shan Liqiang touched a corpse and said, ”They’ve been dead for a long time. The bodies are stiff.”

Yao Peng immediately looked around. ”Quick, check if there’s any food left?”

The two searched around and didn’t even find a single scallion. Furious, one of them swung an axe onto the dining table, which split into two with a ”crack.”

”What’s going on?” Just then, a young couple next door curiously opened their door and peeked out. Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang immediately rushed over.
