Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

39: Surrounding the property officeThe group chat was once again in an uproar.

”Damn, this is too arrogant, openly provoking all of us.”

”But what she said is true. She’s not our enemy. Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang were the ones who killed people and looted supplies just now. She didn’t do anything.”

”What? It was them? Those two were never good people. From humble beginnings as third-rate contractors, they’re not only lewd but also beastly.

The first time we met when they rented here, I noticed it. My husband was right next to me, and Yao Peng dared to let his eyes wander all over me. It was particularly disgusting.

Since they’ve already started killing people and looting supplies, using vicious and cruel methods, they’ll slowly come after us too. We must unite to deal with them, instead of bothering others. Can everyone please distinguish the situation clearly?”

”What the person above said makes sense. I don’t care about anything else; I just want to live one more day.”

”I agree too. Whoever is upstairs, create a group chat.”

Soon, the group chat fell silent, but they had already lost their chance. At this moment, Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang had just fled to Lü Tao’s doorstep and rang the doorbell. ”Brother Tao, open the door quickly. We’ve brought a lot of supplies to show our respect.”

There was a response from inside after ten minutes. ”Then come in.”

Lü Tao sat at home and pressed the remote control, letting the two in. Seeing the supplies, he smiled with satisfaction. ”Hmm, you two did well, but this is far from enough. Leave the things here. I’ll have Beauty cook you a decent meal. While you two are free, go get some more. When you come back, we’ll drink to our hearts’ content.”

”Alright, Brother Tao, just wait.” Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang didn’t think much of it, put down the items, and turned to walk out of the courtyard gate.

As soon as their feet stepped out of the courtyard gate, the gate behind them slammed shut with a ’clank.’ Inside, Lü Tao burst into laughter. ”Two fools, you’ve already offended all the Property Owners in the community. I can’t keep you. Fend for yourselves.”

”Brother Tao, what do you mean?” Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang realized they had been tricked. That dog Lü Tao wanted to use them for free to find food for himself and never intended to take them as his subordinates from beginning to end.

It was only natural. They only knew to find a powerful backer but forgot that a powerful backer was the most dangerous.

”It means you should quickly check the Property Owner Group.” Lü Tao was too lazy to bother with the two fools anymore, embracing Beauty and walking back, leaving Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang outside the courtyard gate, their hearts in turmoil.

How could they still have a chance to check the Property Owner Group? Hundreds of male Property Owners, armed with Kitchen knives, iron rods, and rolling pins, had already charged over.

Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang turned around and furiously pounded on Lü Tao’s courtyard gate. ”Ah, Brother Tao, for the sake of the two big bags of food we snatched for you, please save us!”

”Brother Tao, we still have a bag of food at home. If you save us, we’ll go grab ten more bags for you! Ah, run!”

On the second floor, Lü Tao sneered and said to the Beauty in his arms, ”Look how naive those two fools are. I don’t like eating trash food like instant noodles. They don’t even know that and still dare to boast about following me.”

”Yes, yes, Brother Tao is right.” The Beauty in his arms quickly giggled in agreement, afraid of displeasing Lü Tao and being thrown out herself.

Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang’s shouts gradually faded. Hundreds of Property Owners had surrounded them, and all the weapons in their hands were aimed at them. No matter how they resisted, they quickly lost their breath. Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang were beaten to death.

With the Apocalypse beginning, people’s courage also grew. Everyone knew that casually killing someone now was like killing a chicken; it was no big deal.

Moreover, this large group of people beat someone to death and didn’t even bother to bury them, instead whispering to each other, boasting about how many times they hit and how satisfying it felt.

Little did they know, their mindset had already changed, sliding towards a distorted abyss.

After beating the two to death, hundreds of people looked up and demanded their supplies back from Lü Tao. ”Young Master Lü, please return our food to us.”

Lü Tao simply and decisively gave them one word: ”Scram!”

”You? That’s our food! Why won’t you give it back?” Someone in the crowd pointed at Lü Tao on the second floor, gritting their teeth and shouting.

”Because of this, bang!” Lü Tao suddenly raised his hand and shot the person pointing at him. How could anything that fell into his hands be taken back?

”Ah~” The person fell to the ground and died instantly.

”Oh no, he has a gun! Everyone, run!” The others hadn’t expected this at all. How could they still dare to ask for food? They scattered in a rush, afraid of being shot if they ran too slowly.

After running far away, they gathered again to curse Lü Tao, but they could only vent their anger. The food was not coming back.

Someone suggested, ”Let’s go find the Property Management. They still owe me a bag of rice and a barrel of oil.”

”Right, I haven’t collected mine either. With so many murders and food robberies happening, the Property Management hasn’t done anything. Shouldn’t they at least give us what they owe?”

”Let’s go, find the Property Management and make them open the warehouse and release the food.”

So, hundreds of people quickly arrived at the Property Management office, but it was dark inside, and there was no one there. The virus outbreak happened at night, and those on duty had gone home. Only the Security Department remained.

Soon, the Security Department’s gate was surrounded. Gu Jie looked at these people and knew that if this matter wasn’t resolved today, they would immediately launch a forceful attack. So, he, Yan Xueqing, and a few others directly opened the door:

”What’s the matter, Property Owners? The monitoring system was paralyzed the day before yesterday, and we are rushing to repair it, but we always keep our duty to protect all Property Owners in mind. We patrol 24 hours a day and immediately clear out any zombies that climb over the wall.”

Gu Jie lied first. One, to tell these people what they didn’t know. Two, to use the excuse of protecting everyone’s safety to reduce the Property Management’s resentment. In fact, he knew everything that happened in the entire community, but he couldn’t say he knew. Otherwise, today wouldn’t be a forceful demand for supplies, but he would end up like Yao Peng and Shan Liqiang.

Of course, he couldn’t tell the truth.

”We don’t believe you.” Of course, those hundreds of people weren’t fools either.

”If you don’t believe us, please come in and see for yourselves.” Gu Jie stepped aside, signaling Yan Xueqing and the others to move, allowing people to enter and check.

Three Property Owners entered the Security Office. It was clean and tidy inside, but almost all the surveillance screens were black, with only one or two outer cameras remaining. They first showed dense swarms of zombies surrounding the community gate, already smashing and shaking the gate.

After these three came out, they truthfully answered Zhao Li, the leading Property Owner, ”Section Chief Gu is telling the truth.”

Zhao Li was a Middle-aged Man in his early forties. He narrowed his eyes and glanced at Section Chief Gu. ”Since Section Chief Gu is telling the truth, and we are all your benefactors, please open the warehouse and return the rice and oil owed to the Property Owners among us.”

Gu Jie narrowed his eyes, not agreeing immediately.
