Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

47: Bounty offered for Lü Tao’s headHowever, the matter was far from over. Two zombies escaped the blast; instead of being killed, they were blown into the safety zone. The people in the safety zone didn’t know to swarm them and kill them quickly. Instead, they only cared about screaming and fleeing in all directions, missing the optimal opportunity.

Soon, these two zombies bit whoever they caught. In just a few minutes, two became four, and four became eight—Base No. 2 fell instantly.

The scene was bloody, tragic, and ruthless. Blood flowed everywhere, and severed limbs and mangled flesh were visible all over. Those being bitten let out desperate cries for help, their terrified screams reaching the sky.

In the end, in a safety zone of nearly 100,000 people, fewer than one-third of the survivors remained, hiding in the central Stadium. They closed all doors and windows to wait for rescue, becoming the targets of a dense siege of fresh zombies.

After witnessing this situation, those at Base 1 painfully closed their eyes. They immediately sent helicopters to rescue the remaining survivors and then had to abandon Base No. 2.

While handling Base No. 2 and rescuing the survivors, another team sealed off the Stadium and used helicopters to pour oil and spray fire, dealing with these mangled zombies on the spot.

Si Nan watched the whole process. ”Four days have passed; it seems the First Wave of the Zombie Tide is coming soon.

Even though they’ve become zombies and lost human consciousness, their instincts remain. Being flesh and blood, they still feel the cold. That’s why their groans can be heard 24 hours a day.”

She glanced at the heightened perimeter wall of the residential area. This level of defense couldn’t possibly hold against repeated attacks from a zombie tide; she wondered how much longer it could last. When her gaze fell on those three oil tankers and four express containers, she shook her head regretfully.

Just then, the Little Fanboy next door sent the same question. ”Sister, did you see the express containers on Seaside Road? There must be a lot of good stuff inside. Why don’t we team up to get them?

I just saw on the news that zombies have poor eyesight at night. I’ve been observing these past few nights too; maybe because of the sudden temperature drop, they don’t move at night.

Last night, I threw trash at them, and only a few moved slightly. They just poked at the trash I threw and then stopped moving again. I think it’s a good opportunity.

Many Property Owners in the Property Owner Group also saw this good news and are forming groups to raid nearby supermarkets. They must have seen those large express containers across the way too. If we’re late, it’ll be too late.”

Si Nan calmly watched the Little Fanboy’s frantic call. She raised her beautiful eyes, feeling a bit of admiration. A newborn calf indeed fears no tiger; he actually dares to venture into the world of zombies?

He only has a superficial understanding of zombies; he knows jack shit!

So, Si Nan calmly refused: ”Not going. Hiding out is safest in the Apocalypse.”

If she went, she would go alone. Why would she bring this dead weight along? She’d have to be crazy.

”But sister, even if you store a lot of food, it will eventually expire. These items are the latest production; the more, the better.” Ma Bufan didn’t give up.

However, Si Nan watched him frantically but remained unmoved. She wasn’t a fool who would be a free bodyguard for two brats.

Seeing Si Nan unmoved, Ma Bufan had to temporarily give up. He vowed to Guan Xiaoning and Guan Xiaowen, ”Just watch, sister will definitely agree.”

He showed the video he took of Si Nan dealing with Yao Peng, Lü Tao, and the others to the siblings, Guan Xiaoning and Guan Xiaowen. ”See? Sister has extraordinary courage, doesn’t kill innocents, and has great martial arts. She’s the only person we can rely on. No matter what, we have to follow her and cling to her leg.”

Guan Xiaowen shook her head, speaking plainly, ”But she doesn’t trust us at all, let alone want to take us in. To her, we’re just burdens.”

Guan Xiaoning also rubbed his chin and said, ”So we have to be valuable to her.”

Ma Bufan punched his best friend’s chest. ”My buddy is right. We need to be valuable or have a tribute that can make her happy. But her doors are tightly shut, and she has food at home; what else could she need?”

The three of them squatted in a row, faces in their hands, and began to think.

Meanwhile, Si Nan was still scrolling through news from various television stations. Many small stations cut to static with a ’beep beep beep’ and vanished; the broadcast rooms were completely wiped out. Even the reporters tracking the news outside were not spared, with many being bitten midway through their reports.

Other foreign countries were even more frantic; in short, the entire world was in chaos. Humans were being chased and hunted by zombies, the population was plummeting, and a massive number of people were dying every second. They were either torn apart and devoured by zombies or bitten and turned into new zombies, amidst constant wailing and despair.

Humanity was at the beginning of extinction. If it hadn’t been for the sudden blizzard and ice pellets that caused an early holiday, the situation would have been even more severe.

Messages in the Property Owner Group were constant 24 hours a day, filled with various calls: ”Who has extra food? Anything will do. I’ll pay a high price.”

”Si Nan, have some mercy, sell me some food.”

”Yeah, you prepared so much food in advance. Pity us neighbors and sell us some.”

”Waaa, someone save our family! Our food was stolen by that damn Lü Tao. I curse him to a horrible death.”

”I believe someone will definitely come to save us.”

”Save us my ass. Didn’t you see the news broadcast? Safety Base No. 2 has already fallen. This means being rescued there isn’t safe; you might even die faster.”

”Aaaah, Heavens, are you really trying to drive us to death?”

Having lived twice, Si Nan was indifferent to these cries, but she saw the Property Owner cursing Lü Tao and thought of a good idea. She immediately added that Property Owner as a friend.

Being added by Si Nan in his most desperate moment, the male Property Owner felt as if he had seen the hope of rebirth in hell. Before Si Nan could speak, he immediately declared:

”I’ll do whatever you want me to do, as long as you pay half the food now. My wife and Child are nearly starving to death.”

Si Nan’s fingers flew: ”What if I want you to kill Lü Tao?”

”I’ll do it! That bastard Lü Tao is my enemy too. He had his lackey steal all the food in my house, and they didn’t even spare the baby’s milk powder.

I’ll do exactly as you say. Even if it costs my life, as long as you give me food, I’ll be the knife in your hand.”

The man’s voice was sorrowful yet firm. His two hungry, wailing children made him dare to do anything.

”Deal. You’re smart and didn’t immediately demand an exorbitant price. Come and get it; I’ll give you a bag of milk powder and two packs of instant noodles first. After I see Lü Tao’s head, there’s another bag of rice and a five-pack of instant noodles.

If you complete it beautifully and kill that escaped lackey while you’re at it, I’ll reward you with other food.”

”Okay, it’s a deal. I’m coming to get the things right now.” The man was ecstatic, running downstairs. Even the blizzard raging outside looked like beautiful scenery to him at this moment.

Si Nan took out a bag of milk powder and two small packs of instant noodles from her Space, adding a note that read: ’Lü Tao is injured, but he has a gun. Looking forward to your good news.’ Then she hung it on the courtyard gate.

The man arrived soon. His eyes lit up at the sight of the food. He quickly hid it inside his coat for protection and gripped his Kitchen knife with his right hand.

Si Nan watched him through the surveillance camera, her lips curling. Desperate people have the most explosive power, and they no longer care about their lives. ’Lü Tao, you tried to kill me repeatedly; did you ever think your head would only be worth a bag of rice and some instant noodles?

I suppose instant noodles were the food you despised most in your daily life, yet in my hands, they can buy your life!’

Of course, she wasn’t afraid of the man scamming her for the milk powder and instant noodles, because excluding the milk powder for the children, it was only enough for one meal. The food after the job was done was his greatest motivation.
