Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

18: Aunt Wang actually dared to claim her things!Si Nan was startled. ”Security Big Sister? You scared me to death. What’s going on? Is there a reason you stopped me?”

Si Nan opened the car window and asked Security Sister Ma.

Sister Ma was a straightforward person and asked her bluntly, ”Xiao Nan, I shouldn’t be meddling in this, but I really can’t keep it to myself.”

”The Spring Festival is at the end of next month, and the Property Management has been distributing holiday benefits to Property Owners these past two days. This year is the same as usual: each household gets a 10-jin bucket of peanut oil and a 10-jin bag of Dinghao Rice.”

”You weren’t in the neighborhood for the past ten years, so giving them to your Cousin Aunt Wang was one thing. But now you’re back and plan to stay long-term. Your Cousin Aunt Wang doesn’t treat you like family anyway, and she even joined other residents in the group to talk about you like that. Why don’t you keep them for yourself instead of giving the oil and rice to her?”

”What? The Property Management gives out things every year? I gave ten years’ worth of oil and rice to Cousin Aunt Wang? Why didn’t I know? I didn’t give them away, and I never received any calls from the Property Management.”

Si Nan hurriedly got out of the car, immediately realizing something was fishy.

The security sister was also stunned. ”What? You didn’t know? That’s impossible. The Property Management has strict procedures for collecting items. Even if someone collects on your behalf, they must get the Property Owner’s consent. How could you not know?”

Si Nan was already walking quickly toward the Property Management office. ”It’s simple; I’ll just go to the office and ask. I find it a hassle, so my property fees are automatically deducted, but in ten years, the Property Management never called to ask about someone collecting benefits on my behalf.”

”Either my Cousin Aunt Wang played some tricks, or someone in the Property Management worked with her from the inside. Regardless, I must have an explanation, and the items taken over the past ten years must be returned to me.”

The security sister naturally knew the severity of the situation. ”Right, if it’s our Property Management’s negligence, we must bear the consequences. But I have to say sorry; I can’t accompany you to the office. Without this job, I won’t be able to pay for the Child’s support.”

”Sister, you’re doing the right thing. This is my own business. If you hadn’t kindly reminded me, I wouldn’t have known at all. I’m already very grateful. I can’t let you get involved. Go quickly.”

Si Nan was deeply grateful and quickly sent the security sister away to avoid any trouble if they were seen. She took out her phone and checked the Property Management group. Sure enough, two days ago, the Property Management had notified all Property Owners to collect holiday benefits. She habitually ignored the Property Owner group, so she naturally didn’t know.

If she could recover ten years’ worth of oil and rice, wouldn’t that be another batch of supplies? Besides, it was her due.

Oh, she could crush some weaklings again today; she was looking forward to it. Cousin Aunt Wang was truly bold; Si Nan was already back, yet she still dared to claim her things fraudulently.

Didn’t she just talk nonsense about her in the Property Owner group a few days ago? New and old grudges would be settled together. If she didn’t make Cousin Aunt Wang cough up blood and pay her double the supplies today, her last name wasn’t Si!

Si Nan swaggered into the Property Management office’s front desk. There were three staff members in a row and several elderly people lining up for benefits; it was a bit noisy.

She wasn’t in a hurry and queued politely. When it was her turn, the staff provided good service, greeting her with a smile: ”Hello, Property Owner, are you here to collect benefits too?”

Si Nan nodded. ”Yes, I’m the Property Owner of unit c-108, Si Nan, who has moved back. I only saw it when I checked the Property Owner group just now. Our Property Management is so good, actually giving us New Year benefits. Is this only starting this year? In the past ten years, no one from Property Management called to tell me about such a good thing.”

The smiling staff member’s smile vanished. ”You didn’t know? Please wait a moment while I check the collection record. I’m a new employee, so I’m not clear on the specifics.”

”But I remember that as soon as the notice was sent to the Property Owner group, someone from unit c-108 came to collect it. There’s a note on the back of the form saying it was verified with the Property Owner by phone, and that Unit C-104 is authorized to collect it every year. Look, it’s already been signed for.”

Si Nan immediately feigned surprise and roared loudly so everyone in the office could hear: ”What? Collected? Impossible! I live in this neighborhood and only just saw there were things to collect. How could I have agreed to let someone else take them?”

”Furthermore, until now, for ten years, I haven’t received a single call from Property Management about benefits. You must give me an explanation!”

”What? No one called you? And for ten years? That’s impossible!”

A female manager walked out from the inner office. Experienced as she was, she immediately calmed Si Nan down. ”Property Owner of 108, please take a seat. I will investigate the cause and effect immediately and give you a satisfactory answer as soon as possible.”

”Fine, I’ll wait, but please be quick, I have things to do.” Si Nan curled her lips in satisfaction; the show had begun.

However, the front desk was already in an uproar. ”How could this happen? This concerns us Property Owners. Please investigate thoroughly. Who knows if there were other annual benefits we didn’t know about that were withheld or taken by others?”

”Exactly, this is a villa district, not an ordinary housing estate. The annual property fees are a fortune, so the benefits should naturally be better than in ordinary neighborhoods.”

”And we cooperate with your work; we don’t make you chase us for property fees.”

”That’s right. If this isn’t cleared up and it’s not confirmed whether the annual benefits since the opening ten years ago were really just rice and oil, my family won’t pay next year’s property fees.”

”Right, no more paying.”

”My family won’t pay either.”

The manager saw that things were about to spiral out of control. This was serious; this neighborhood had tens of thousands of Property Owners. She immediately calmed them down:

”Please stay calm, everyone. I will post the benefit documents from higher management in the Property Owner group for you to see shortly. We are a prestigious company and would never deceive any Property Owner.”

”However, regarding the special situation with the Property Owner of 108, I am deeply sorry. My apologies.”

She bowed to Si Nan and continued, ”I will investigate immediately. If the serious consequences for the Property Owner of 108 were caused by our negligence, I will request a demotion and accept any punishment from the company.”

”Could the Property Owners please give me some time to investigate? Regardless of the outcome, I will announce it in the Property Owner group. Is that acceptable?”

Finally, the female manager gave a 90-degree bow to all the Property Owners with a very sincere attitude. What else could the other Property Owners say?

”Alright, Manager Xue is a veteran here. We trust you. We’ll go back and wait for your investigation results.” The Property Owners who had collected their oil and rice left.

Only then did Manager Xue breathe a sigh of relief, her tone turning cold instantly. ”Who called the Property Owner of unit c-108 to verify?”
