Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining knew that over the years this little girl must have suffered a lot, both physically and mentally, which is certainly a shadow of her childhood. If the child’s heart knot is not untied, this unpleasant past may follow her for a lifetime.

So, in these circumstances, Huo Sining decided not to hide from this child anymore. She would eventually reveal the child’s origins to her, whether sooner or later. Besides, Huo Sining believed that with the child’s early wisdom, she would surely understand even if her origins were disclosed.

”Tongtong, I will seriously talk about something with you now. This is a secret, and no one else should know besides you and me. You must achieve this.”

Huo Sining looked seriously at the little girl.

The little girl raised her head and looked at Huo Sining in surprise, then nodded seriously and extended her little finger in front of Huo Sining:

”Don’t worry, sister, I won’t tell anyone. If you’re worried, we can pinky swear. Whoever lies is a puppy!”

Huo Sining was amused by the girl’s childish words and couldn’t help but reach out her pinky finger to make a promise with the little girl.

”Okay, let’s pinky swear, not change for a hundred years!”

After making a promise, Huo Sining took the little girl into the study, closed the doors and windows, and took out the box that Elisa had previously given her, looking at the little one and saying:

”Didn’t you say that while in Jinling, the women next door said you weren’t the biological child but adopted? That’s correct; you are indeed not Tong Jian and Zhang Jing’s biological daughter but rather an adopted child.”

Tongtong was not hearing this for the first time, but those women never dared to say it in front of her face. It was only once when they were chit-chatting casually that they brought her up while she happened to be a few meters away collecting cans and inadvertently overheard.

Initially, she didn’t understand what adoption meant, but later asked several older girls who had attended school to get the meaning.

This matter was merely gossip for others, not corroborated by anyone, but it left a deep imprint in the little girl’s heart. She kept the matter secret, dared not mention it to anyone, but unexpectedly, it was personally confirmed by Huo Sining now, which shocked Tongtong greatly.

”You... How do you know, sister?” The girl’s eyes flashed a panic, urgently asking.

Huo Sining smiled: ”I just know because I have met your mother, the woman who gave birth to you.”

The girl’s eyes flashed with excitement, seemingly about to ask what her mother looked like and where she was, but the next second, the girl’s face suddenly froze, and the initial excitement and joy vanished, replaced by a blank expression, even the words reaching her lips swallowed back.

Huo Sining found it strange, couldn’t help but ask: ”What’s wrong? Why don’t you ask about your mother’s situation, don’t you want to know where she is?”

The girl’s eyes were swollen red, she shook her head: ”She abandoned me and gave me to someone else; clearly, she doesn’t like me. Since that’s the case, I better not disturb her.”

Huo Sining knew early on that this child was very mature, quite different from the typical child at her age. Now seeing Tongtong’s behavior, she couldn’t help but be glad she made the decision early.

Fortunately, she decided early; if she waited until the child had fully matured mentally to tell her about her origins, she might already have formed her own opinions, making it difficult to break this stalemate and resolve the child’s heart knot.

Seeing that the little girl, although saying she shouldn’t disturb her biological mother, couldn’t help but sneak glances at the box Huo Sining took out, Huo Sining knew the child was merely speaking contrary to her heart. Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh, reaching out to hold the little girl in her lap, slowly recounting the story of meeting Elisa in Mexico.

”Your mother was in a very dangerous profession; she risked her life to secretly give birth to you. She loves you very much, but to protect your safety, she had to send you to others for upbringing.”

”She just trusted the wrong people, entrusting you to Tong Jian and Zhang, who took the money your mother gave them but refused to take proper care of you, going as far as intentionally abusing you. Your mother, worried about your safety, asked me to look after you for her. She didn’t know you were suffering in Jinling; fortunately, this time I went to Jinling and found out your situation was not good. If she had known earlier that the couple was treating you poorly, she would have come to find you sooner.”

Tongtong quietly listened to Huo Sining’s recount, tears finally couldn’t hold, falling down like a stream, her tear-filled eyes looking at Huo Sining: ”Really? She really likes me; it’s not because she didn’t want me that she left me in Jinling?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”In this world, no mother doesn’t love her child. Even in danger, what she can think of and strive to protect is surely her child, because you are the part of her that stayed for ten months of pregnancy, after enduring unspeakable pain, a piece of flesh dropped from her, nothing is closer than your relationship.”

The little girl nodded, who initially had a very resistant attitude towards Elisa as described by Huo Sining, now smiled brightly, her eyes shining as she looked at Huo Sining:

”So where is my mom now, can I go find her?”

Huo Sining paused, she really wanted to tell the child the news that Elisa may no longer be alive, but considering the child’s recent discovery of information about her biological mother, abruptly learning of her mother’s death could be a significant blow. So, out of goodwill, Huo Sining decided to conceal this fact for now.

”I don’t know where your mother is either because she is currently engaged in a very dangerous task. She may not return to find us in the short term, but I think she will come to find you sooner or later.”

The girl heard this, her expression suddenly somewhat downcast.

Huo Sining hastily took out the box she was holding and handed it to Tongtong:

”The items in this box were sent to me by your mother a few days ago; they are all for you. However, you are still young now, for now, I’ll keep these items for you safely, and once you grow up and can handle your belongings properly, then I’ll give them to you.”

The little girl reached out curiously flipping through the items in the box, then nodded, trustingly handing the box back into Huo Sining’s hand.
