Reborn As Super Heiress

When Windsor Reed entered earlier, he was only concerned about his son’s injuries. It wasn’t until Windsor Caesar and Gu Xu interacted that Windsor Reed realized there was a prominent guest in the room besides Huo Sining and his own son.

Windsor Reed hadn’t met Gu Xu, but hearing his son call him Mr. Gu, he immediately realized that this Huaxia man was Huo Sining’s husband.

He didn’t expect that after bringing Huo Sining from England to Mexico for just two or three days, Mr. Gu had hurriedly followed them here, which made Windsor Reed a bit surprised. He couldn’t help but laugh and say:

”So this is Mr. Gu. Hello, Mr. Gu. It seems the rumors are indeed true. Mr. Gu and Miss Huo are deeply in love. No wonder the news media praise Mr. Gu as a good man who cares for his wife!”

Gu Xu felt displeased with Windsor Caesar, and naturally his impression of the old Earl wasn’t very good either. However, seeing the old Windsor gentleman speak so eloquently, he was somewhat surprised, and his originally cold demeanor softened quite a bit. He waved his hand with a smile and said:

”Taking care of one’s wife is just a man’s duty, nothing worth praising.”

Though he said this, he felt quite satisfied with the old Earl’s discernment.

Unfortunately, while Windsor Reed flattered Gu Xu, his own son pulled a long face. Here he was, seeking but failing, and his father not only didn’t help him but hindered him instead. How could Windsor Caesar not be annoyed?

Previously, Caesar adhered to the belief that ”there is no wall one can’t break, only an inadequate tool,” but now he deeply felt his father’s malice: don’t fear godlike opponents, but pig-like teammates. With his father around, he might as well remain single his whole life!

Windsor Reed had no idea he’d offended his son the moment he appeared, and instead happily chatted with Gu Xu, especially upon learning that it was Huo Sining and her husband who personally saved his son. He was even more amazed and appreciative.

After chatting enough, the pressure around Windsor Caesar had plummeted to freezing point, while Huo Sining looked tired after eating and drinking, probably because of her pregnancy. She seemed sleepier than usual, and Gu Xu, seeing this, didn’t need Huo Sining to speak up and directly bid farewell to the guests.

Although Huo Sining had already clearly stated earlier that the Emperor’s health was fine, Windsor Reed, as a father, couldn’t rest easy just like that. Concerned about his son’s health, the old Earl insisted on taking Caesar to the hospital for a full checkup.

Therefore, when Gu Xu indicated it was time to leave, the old Earl took Caesar out, heading straight to the underground parking lot where the ambulance was already waiting impatiently.

After a good sleep, Huo Sining received a call from Windsor Reed the next day, stating he planned to visit the mines again and then return to England with Caesar. If Gu Xu and Huo Sining planned to return, they could ride on his private jet.

Huo Sining naturally had no objections and immediately agreed. However, just before hanging up, a sudden image flashed in her mind, pausing her hand on the phone. She hurriedly asked:

”Mr. Windsor, I wonder if the agreement I signed with you before is still valid?”

The agreement Huo Sining mentioned was a mining bet contract she signed with Windsor Reed earlier in Las Vegas.

At that time, the old Earl found her and invited her to Mexico to bet on a diamond mine. The agreement clearly stated that if Huo Sining successfully gambled on the diamond mine, the old Earl would grant her twenty percent of the diamond mine’s shares.

To make Huo Sining sign the agreement, the old Earl not only conducted an investigation on Huo Sining beforehand but also generously gifted her the lost Yuanmingyuan Official Seal Baohetaihe.

It was precisely because of that jade seal that Huo Sining decided to sign the agreement with the Earl on the spot. However, after signing the agreement, the old gentleman didn’t rush her to gamble on the mine. If it weren’t for this incident involving Windsor Caesar, Huo Sining might never have ventured into the Malad Mountains nor mentioned this matter.

Windsor Reed hadn’t expected Huo Sining to bring up this matter at this moment, and after a brief pause, he eagerly replied:

”It’s valid, of course, it’s valid! Miss Huo, I’ve actually always wanted to discuss this with you, but before this, I couldn’t find the right opportunity. Now that Miss Huo is pregnant, I can’t possibly be so inconsiderate to involve you in this matter. Moreover, Miss Huo, you’ve helped me tremendously. I wouldn’t be so ungrateful.”

”The agreement definitely stands. After Miss Huo has given birth, whenever it’s convenient, we can discuss it further. Anyway, considering this incident, I’ve temporarily shelved my mining plan. The mountain’s not going anywhere. Waiting another year or two won’t matter.”

Although he said this, Windsor Reed still felt a bit disappointed. He had initially planned to seize the diamond exhibition in May to mine the deposits, using both the diamonds Huo Sining sold him to make a grand entrance and the mine’s diamonds to continuously provide raw diamonds. This way, there would be no worry about not gaining fame and market.

But in such a short time, an incident occurred at the mine, injuring several workers, not to mention his son nearly being compromised. This made Windsor Reed anxious, concerned about potential bad events, so he decided to take a breather and wait for a more suitable time to resume operations.

Huo Sining hadn’t expected Windsor Reed to have such plans, and couldn’t help but laugh:

”The mines are open, and it’s a pity to give up now, isn’t it? You don’t need to worry about me. Although I’m pregnant, the fetal position is stable. It’s not as fragile as you think. Mining is all about timing, and it doesn’t require much effort. As long as I look around the mines, I’ll have a decent idea. So, you shouldn’t withdraw the workers. Keep working. Since you plan to go to the mountains today, being here means it’s as good as any other day. Let’s do it today!”
