Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining, upon hearing this, instinctively looked at Windsor Reed: ”Mr. Windsor, where in the mountains of Mexico did Emperor run into trouble?”

Windsor Reed quickly responded, ”Eastern Sierra Madre Mountains.”

Upon hearing this familiar name, Huo Sining did not even have the chance to relay it to Gu Xu before she froze in place.

The Sierra Madre Mountains are Mexico’s main mountain range, collectively named for the three mountain ranges that surround Mexico from the east, south, and west. They begin at the Mexico-America border and extend parallel southward along both coasts of Mexico as the Eastern and Western Sierra Madre Mountains.

Specifically, the Eastern Sierra Madre Mountains stretch northwest-southeast, marked by numerous volcanoes and volcanic plateaus, with a unique terrain filled with amber and mountain valleys. However, it is precisely this unique topography that endows the mountains with rich deposits of iron, aluminum, gold, silver, and, due to the abundant volcanoes, extensive diamond veins.

Windsor Reed had purchased this vein from a Mexican tycoon under accidental circumstances, but owning a vein didn’t necessarily mean that diamonds could be successfully mined from it.

The principles of diamond and jadeite mining are the same; finding the spots in the mountains where diamond veins are located requires both keen eyesight and luck.

After all, starting a mining operation is no small matter. The mining teams can’t just start digging at random spots inside the mountain; this would unnecessarily consume immense human and financial resources and take a considerable amount of time.

Thus, during excavation, specialists must be employed to oversee operations, with gambling experts delineating the areas, followed by the mining teams carrying out the excavation.

In fact, before the trip to Philadelphia last year, Windsor Reed had considered inviting Huo Sining to Mexico to gamble on the mines, but as Huo Sining had uncovered a batch of top-quality diamonds in Oregon, and Windsor Reed had conveniently acquired those diamonds to alleviate an urgent need, the plan to seek Huo Sining’s help was temporarily shelved.

However, he hadn’t anticipated that this delay would lead to such significant trouble, something beyond Windsor Reed’s wildest expectations.

Of course, Huo Sining was unaware of Windsor Reed’s previous intention, nor did she know that the vein Windsor Reed owned was situated within the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Her momentary pause stemmed from the fact that this mountain range wasn’t unknown to her.

In fact, among the secret materials Elisa retrieved from Tranleva, besides the evidence of private deals between international celebrities and Tranleva, there were also details regarding bases hidden by a major drug lord.

One of these bases was established in the eastern part of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Huo Sining couldn’t pinpoint the exact location, but she remembered the recorded coordinates in those documents, and with a compass, finding that place wouldn’t be difficult.

Nevertheless, Huo Sining couldn’t believe such a coincidence — that Windsor Reed’s mine was in the same mountain range as the drug lord’s base, and due to the diamond rim excavations, Windsor Caesar had a conflict with the drug lord, even encountering danger.

Huo Sining faintly guessed the reason.

Chances are, Emperor accidentally discovered the drug dealers’ base; otherwise, those traffickers wouldn’t so openly clash with the mining team.

Huo Sining frowned, realizing why Gu Xu had asked such a peculiar question because even she felt it was a tricky situation.

The near-death experience they had in Mexico about half a month ago was exceedingly dangerous. After all, Mexico is the territory of those drug lords. As the saying goes, a strong dragon cannot suppress a local snake. Although Windsor Reed and Windsor Caesar are quite prestigious in England, here they had provoked the ruthless drug lords, and their advantage was not guaranteed.

Moreover, what worried Huo Sining the most wasn’t whether Windsor Reed’s mine could continue to be excavated, but Windsor Caesar’s situation.

Given how Mexican drug lords operate, they wouldn’t easily let someone go. Therefore, Huo Sining greatly feared that Windsor Caesar wasn’t buried underground but instead controlled by those drug traffickers.

Thinking about this more wasn’t helpful. Before arriving at the scene, Huo Sining dared not make rash judgments and instead let her mind wander without deriving any effective strategies.

After hanging up on Gu Xu, Huo Sining rested with her eyes closed. Although they haven’t reached Mexican territory yet, she had already anticipated the hard battle ahead.

Once they arrived at the airport, the group drove rapidly to the incident site. The Eastern Sierra Madre Mountains are unfathomably deep, and entering the forest, they were surrounded by jungle. Huo Sining and her team drove all the way to the vein excavation site, and by then seventeen to eighteen hours had passed since the accident occurred.

The mining team there had already conducted extensive cleanup and emergency rescue, but due to the severe collapse of the vein, no one knew exactly which section those beneath were buried in or whether anyone was still alive.

Windsor Reed had prepared for the worst before arriving, but upon witnessing the scene and seeing the forest filled with rubble, his face turned pale, and after stepping out of the car, he fell sitting to the ground, his lips uncontrollably quivering.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

Throughout this mountain range, layers of rock were everywhere, and the evident collapse of the mountain was caused by a significant amount of explosives. The immense power of the explosives split the mountain layers, naturally causing many stones to fall and bury the mine directly.

The miners trapped in the mine, buried under so many stones, might not necessarily die but would be at death’s door. With the long duration, the oxygen inside was likely depleted, making survival chances exceedingly slim.

However, upon disembarking, Windsor Reed, like grasping at the last straw, anxiously looked at Huo Sining: ”Miss Huo, my son’s survival depends on you.”

Windsor Reed didn’t speak loudly, clearly aware of Huo Sining’s reservations. He didn’t dare speak loudly, fearing eavesdroppers who might speculate about Huo Sining’s identity.

Huo Sining came precisely for this matter, so she certainly wouldn’t do nothing, but upon seeing the situation, she internally deemed it a lost cause. She knew that even if they cleared this area, the likelihood of finding anyone alive was minuscule.

”Mr. Windsor, let me help you over there to take a look.”

Huo Sining extended her hand to pat Windsor Reed’s arm, nodded towards him, and signaled with her eyes.
