Reborn As Super Heiress

As soon as Matthew heard this, he immediately nodded and turned around to find the blueprints in the data room.

Seeing Matthew leave, Windsor Reed couldn’t hold back any longer. He eagerly asked, ”Miss Huo, is there a problem? Did we gain or lose on this vein?”

Huo Sining raised her head and, seeing Windsor Reed’s anxious expression, couldn’t help but chuckle. ”Mr. Earl, don’t worry, this mine is definitely a win—a huge win!”

Hearing this, Windsor Reed felt relieved, but he was still a bit confused about what Huo Sining was planning to do.

”Then, Miss Huo, what are you planning to do?”

Windsor Reed was puzzled about what Huo Sining intended to do. Since a diamond mine had been discovered, they should just proceed with excavation. Why change the plan? Wouldn’t that be redundant?

Huo Sining fixed her gaze on Windsor Reed and slowly said, ”Mr. Windsor, do you trust me?”

Windsor Reed immediately nodded. ”Of course I do, otherwise, I wouldn’t have sought out Miss Huo for help. The saying ’don’t doubt those you use, and don’t use those you doubt’ is an old Huaxia Country saying. I’m giving this phrase back to you, Miss Huo. Your abilities are seen by everyone, not just me. I trust you completely!”

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”I just went down to check out the diamond mine and had some discoveries and thoughts, but they need further verification. However, let me ask you, Mr. Earl, would you be willing to gamble big with me?”

”Gamble big?”

Hearing Huo Sining’s words, Windsor Reed was taken aback. He didn’t quite understand what she meant by that. ”How do you mean?”

Huo Sining lowered her voice, her eyes sharp yet steady as she looked at Windsor Reed, speaking clearly:

”My recent discoveries suggest that this area might contain a giant diamond deposit. If tomorrow’s verification confirms my hypothesis, Mr. Windsor, would you take a gamble with me? Increase the investment in manpower and resources; if we play, we play big, opening four or even six mines at once?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, Windsor Reed was dumbfounded.

He stood up straight, bewildered, looking at Huo Sining as if she were a madwoman!

Opening six mines simultaneously—is this woman insane?!

Seeing Windsor Reed’s expression, Huo Sining knew what he was thinking and shrugged, saying:

”Mining requires time and effort, but Mr. Earl, you surely know, this isn’t your territory. If something happens, you won’t be able to control what happens next.”

”Just like what Tranleva did before, these drug lords act without reasoning. They do whatever they please in Mexico. If, after the civil war with Harus, Tranleva comes looking for you to settle old scores, who knows if you’ll be able to continue mining then.”

”Also, this diamond mine is a conspicuous item. Although you hold ownership, there’s no guarantee someone won’t be envious and do something crazy. Not to mention, the Mexican government might decide to take their share if they find out you’ve struck diamonds.”

Huo Sining’s analysis hit Windsor Reed right in the heart. His heart trembled, and his face suddenly turned grim.

Clearly, Huo Sining’s points were entirely possible. This is Mexico, not England; it’s out of his control. If something were to happen, even calling to heaven or earth wouldn’t save him; he’d have to swallow his teeth and blood.

”Alright, I’ll gamble with you this time! It’s only about bringing forward the investment planned for a few years by just one year. Miss Huo, I’ll follow your arrangements!”

Thinking about Huo Sining’s mention of a giant diamond deposit, Windsor Reed’s heart couldn’t help but race.

Even though he felt Huo Sining’s assumption was exaggerated, for some reason, he couldn’t summon any doubt, even hoping secretly that her assumption was correct.

A giant diamond deposit—if it indeed exists, then Windsor Reed has really struck gold!

Despite thinking the chance was slim, Windsor Reed couldn’t help but be tempted. What if it really worked out, then he’d really hit it big!

A super-giant diamond deposit could bring in not just hundreds of millions, but potentially billions!

Considering his age, Windsor Reed silently told himself that with one foot in the grave, if he didn’t go crazy now, it would be too late! With that, he might as well take a chance with Huo Sining. As she said, if they’re going to play, they might as well play big!

Windsor Reed made up his mind just as Matthew came in with a map. Windsor Reed quickly collected his emotions, pretending to sit calmly in his chair.

After receiving the map, Huo Sining immediately spread it out and took out a pen, drawing continuously on it.

This was a newly drawn map of the mining area, depicting Windsor Reed’s ownership over the East Marede Mountains, including the terrain’s elevations, valleys, and cliffs.

Huo Sining compared these annotations and marked circles in several areas with her pen.

Windsor Reed and Matthew were both puzzled, especially Matthew, who stared at Huo Sining’s actions for a while but couldn’t figure out what she was doing, finally asking:

”Miss Lina, what are you drawing here?”

Matthew’s gaze was fixed tightly on the map in front of Huo Sining. Besides the area of the recently discovered diamond vein, Huo Sining marked five other spots within a few kilometers and labeled them in Chinese.

Matthew didn’t know Chinese, making him even more curious about Huo Sining’s intentions.

Huo Sining set down her pen and studied the map for a while before softly laughing, ”These places, Captain Matthew, you should be familiar with, right? Tomorrow, please take me to see these spots.”

Matthew paused, unsure of what Huo Sining intended. Meanwhile, Windsor Reed seemed to have a vague understanding and leaned over to carefully examine the spots Huo Sining had marked.
