Reborn As Super Heiress

A large diamond vein requires at least four mines, and for someone with greater ambition, opening six or eight mines is not unheard of.

The Maled Mountains cover a vast area, with Windsor Reed’s portion located in the east, occupying one-quarter of the whole Maled Mountains area. This is considered quite a substantial piece.

However, before confirming the quality of the vein, Windsor Reed dared not fully invest in mining, preferring to dig one pit first to test his luck.

Initially, Windsor Reed’s idea was to wait for Huo Sining to be available to assist with the gamble on the mine, as in his view, gambling on diamond mines isn’t something that can be decided casually; true masters often reside in the mining area for a year or more, studying the mountain range’s orientation and geology. After everything is set, they proceed with reasonable analysis.

But he was unaware that Huo Sining’s approach to gambling on mines was significantly different from those masters.

Others study the mountain’s rock layers using various geological survey instruments and collect samples for analysis, whereas Huo Sining can skip all that. She just enters the mountain alone, presses her hand to the ground, and sees everything clearly without any need for tools or machines.

Huo Sining proposed gambling on the mine at this time partly because she was currently in Mexico and wanted to settle Windsor Reed’s issue there, avoiding having to return to that dreadful place again.

Additionally, she found it opportune while Tranleva and Harus were embroiled in internal conflict, having no time to interfere with Windsor Reed’s side — now was the best time for mining.

Postponing a year or two could allow Tranleva to settle with Harus and reflect on when he abducted Windsor Caesar but did not gain anything. A vengeful cartel leader might harbor resentment and settle scores later.

Tranleva was not an easy opponent. Although Windsor Reed belonged to the English royal family, a powerful dragon cannot suppress a local serpent. In their territory, even dragons had to comply and obey their arrangements. Hence, to avoid prolonged uncertainty, extracting the vein promptly is preferable.

Thus, early one morning, after sending Yu Fei to the airport, Huo Sining and Gu Xu boarded Windsor Reed’s helicopter, heading to the mining zone in the Malad Mountains.

The helicopter is much faster than a car; the Malad Mountains are full of jungles, making vehicular travel challenging. Helicopters, however, are the fastest transport method.

A regular helicopter isn’t costly. Being wealthy, Windsor Reed bought one upon arriving in Mexico, but considering he needed Huo Sining’s help for the mine gamble, he spared no expense, buying a luxury helicopter overnight from a contact, naturally to gratify Huo Sining.

Huo Sining found Windsor Reed’s attentiveness unsurprising, as she had saved this old man’s employees and his son. This favor was not small; the old man treating her well now seemed justified and enjoyable to Huo Sining.

Moreover, being pregnant now, if she were to endure the bumpy rides in a car for days, she would find it unbearable.

It seemed Windsor Reed had considered Huo Sining’s physical condition, so he purchased the luxury helicopter, fearing for her wellbeing.

The old man was indeed competent; after boarding the aircraft with his wife, Gu Xu couldn’t help but mutter a bit, boosting his impression of Windsor Reed.

Although the son was oblivious, the father knew how to be charming!

Before the helicopter fully landed at its destination, Miner Captain Matthew was already waiting on the vacant land. When the engine shut down and Huo Sining’s group hadn’t yet disembarked, Matthew hastily ran over, indicating the mine they were digging had encountered issues.

Matthew did not specify what issues, but seeing his expression, the problem appeared serious. Observing this, Windsor Reed immediately frowned, instinctively glancing towards Huo Sining.

Previously visiting the mine area, Huo Sining was too busy rescuing people to conduct detailed investigations, but she inspected some stones with the Heavenly Eye while rescuing, gaining some understanding and roughly analyzing the mine. From the stone conditions, there seemed to be no problem, yet why was Captain Matthew’s expression this grave?

”Captain Matthew, what exactly is the problem?”

Windsor Reed was very anxious about this mining vein since it involved the company’s future prosperity, bringing tension and urgency. Seeing Matthew sell the suspense, he impatiently asked.

”You’ll know once you see it.”

Matthew hesitated and stopped, displaying some bitterness, which caused Windsor Reed to feel a foreboding sense.

”Let’s go and have a look,” Huo Sining suggested, guessing that perhaps something unpleasant had occurred in the mine tunnel, quickly urging Windsor Reed.

Matthew believed Huo Sining was merely Windsor Reed’s private assistant and never suspected her identity. Seeing her speak, he quickly nodded and led the way for the group.

Matthew led at the front, Windsor Reed followed, and Gu Xu, worried about Huo Sining’s pregnancy, stayed close, constantly watching his wife’s movements, ready to act as a protective cushion anytime.

Windsor Caesar suffered greatly this time, so Windsor Reed had already sent him back to England overnight.

Upon entering the mining area, Huo Sining’s group was tightly followed by the miners, all prepared to head towards the mine pit.

Though it had only been a few short days since Huo Sining last visited the mine area, the previous visit had the mine tunnel obstructed by rubble. In stark contrast now, the rubble was cleared away, the mine tunnel’s wooden braces and steel structure rebuilt, mining-essential iron rails and carts placed, alongside excavators and cranes; the operation looked orderly, vastly different from before.

Besides, Windsor Reed had summoned armed guards, seemingly affected by Windsor Caesar’s previous abduction. The old man became more vigilant and cautious, learning from experience, and no longer ignoring deep mountain security concerns.
