Reborn As Super Heiress

They waited until night. After dinner, Huo Sining and Gu Xu were arranged by Windsor Reed to rest at the nearby miners’ dormitory.

The miners’ dormitories here were mostly simple. Even Windsor Caesar used to eat and live with the miners, but the room that Windsor Reed arranged for Huo Sining was very comfortable. It not only had air conditioning but also a private bathroom with 24-hour hot water supply.

After all, this place was in the deep mountains, and such complete facilities were rare in the mining area. According to the person who arranged the room, this room was made available by Windsor Reed.

Huo Sining originally wanted to refuse, but Windsor Reed kept insisting, and considering that she was now pregnant, she accepted after some polite declines.

According to Huo Sining’s instructions, the miners worked day and night to start the excavation work. Matthew, however, had a troubled look on his face. At eleven at night, after he came back up, he sat in Windsor Reed’s room, anxiously asking:

”Boss, we’ve already dug almost forty meters deep. Should we really keep going? If this gamble fails, are we going to continue gambling?”

Matthew didn’t really agree with Windsor Reed’s approach. He obviously believed in absolute strength, but that young Lina seemed inexperienced. How could she lead such a large group? Moreover, the appearance of the fully weathered zone this time had such a significant impact on the entire mine. Even the most skilled geologists couldn’t change the established facts created by nature.

Windsor Reed understood what Matthew was thinking, but he decided to trust Huo Sining this once. At most, it would cost them a day or two, maybe waste a year’s manpower and resources, but it wouldn’t really affect the mine.

”Let’s take a gamble. Whether we find a win or not depends on the heavens. Even if this mine gamble fails, there’s no rush. Then I’ll just have Huo... Miss Lina help us find another place to gamble on mining!”

Windsor Reed shook his head slightly, appearing indifferent.

But hearing these words, Matthew found it depressing.

Gambling on another mine, if it were that easy to find a diamond mine, it would be great. Countless diamond merchants worldwide would be investing in diamond mines!

Moreover, with the appearance of the weathering zone in these mountains, finding another spot better than this isn’t easy at all.

Looking at Windsor Reed’s confident expression, Matthew really didn’t want to pour cold water on his boss, but he couldn’t help a hint of sarcasm internally. He wondered what fascination had bewitched his boss to trust that personal assistant so much. Hadn’t that woman played some dirty tricks, exploiting some seductive witchcraft on him?

As Matthew was absorbed in his dark thoughts, suddenly, someone rushed inside from outside, shouting loudly before even entering the door:

”Bo... Boss, Captain, there’s been... a find below!”

Both Windsor Reed and Matthew stood up simultaneously, both wearing expressions of shock.

”Be clear, what exactly was found?”

Matthew hurriedly asked, and the miner who rushed in quickly stood upright, taking several deep breaths.

Windsor Reed also approached anxiously, looking intently at this person who had come running.

This person, about forty years old, reminded Windsor Reed of him. He was one of the miners trapped during a previous mine collapse incident, named Andra.

However, Andra was relatively lucky, suffering only some scratches and experiencing temporary shock due to lack of oxygen. He recovered soon after being rescued without any serious issues.

Andra had been working with the mining team for about ten years, an experienced and steady man. Since Matthew assembled this miners’ team, Andra had followed him, so Matthew knew Andra’s character very well. If it wasn’t something significant, Andra would never display such an excited demeanor.

Sure enough, the next second, Andra’s words made Matthew gasp.

”Boss, Captain, we dug out about fifty meters in the direction Miss Lina pointed out and hollowed out that specific rock layer. Behind that rock layer, it’s all diamond ore, and it’s of high quality. The workers are guarding the entrance right now, and I rushed to inform you two first!”

Andra finally caught his breath before speaking slowly. After saying that, he spotted a water dispenser on the table, grabbed a nearby paper cup, and filled it with cold water from the dispenser to down a large gulp.

”A find, this can’t be!”

Matthew was immediately dumbfounded upon hearing this, muttering subconsciously.

In Matthew’s view, gambling on a vein from a fully weathered zone is like uncovering a complete jadeite from a stone full of cracks and black spots during stone gambling. Such things would be hard for anyone to believe, even if it were publicized.

”Is it really a diamond mine?”

Even Windsor Reed couldn’t believe it and asked the same question.

Windsor Reed asked because he was concerned the miners might have made some mistake, mistaking regular rock strata for diamond ore. However, it was almost impossible since the mining team members were skilled workers with years of mining experience, especially in diamond mines, making such a basic mistake extremely unlikely.

Nonetheless, Andra still answered truthfully and with detail:

”Absolutely, we also dug out several pieces of raw ore. Arnold was in such a hurry that he directly smashed one of those raw ores, revealing a tiny diamond tip. I checked it carefully; it’s indeed a diamond inside!”

Andra vigorously nodded to emphasize. He wouldn’t dare to be ambiguous about this matter, knowing how vital the outcome was. Joking about it could cost him more than he could afford.

With Andra’s affirmative response, Windsor Reed couldn’t contain his excitement and he too grew impatient:

”So it’s indeed a find, quick, lead the way. We must go down and take a look right away!”

Windsor Reed could no longer sit still. He stood up, ready to walk out, fully exposing his impatient temperament.

Seeing Windsor Reed’s eagerness, Matthew felt a bit helpless:

”Boss, wait a moment. Miss Lina is still resting in her room. Don’t you want to inform her of this news?”

Seeing this, Matthew hurriedly pulled Windsor Reed back, wearing a look of helplessness.
