Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining did not expect that after being so abused by Tong Jian and Zhang Jing, this child could still think of her foster parents and younger brother under such circumstances. This surprised Huo Sining and simultaneously gave rise to more fondness and sympathy for this child in her heart.

A child so innocent and kind, having to deal with such selfish foster parents as Tong Jian and Zhang Jing, truly is a calamity for this child. Yet no matter how much she has gone through, she still hasn’t discarded her kind heart and still understands gratitude, loving her relatives selflessly and without reservation.

Humans are creatures that seek advantage and avoid harm. This child knows that besides hunger, cold, and abuse, there are no benefits to be gained from Tong Jian and Zhang Jing. However, she did not develop any resentment towards her foster parents because of this.

Even when Huo Sining extended an olive branch, offering her a chance to live in a beautiful house like this, her first reaction was not joy, nor did she immediately nod her head, but she inquired about her parents and brothers.

Such qualities are not possessed by most people, yet this is also something Huo Sining admires very much.

If previously Huo Sining went to find this child and even resorted to using her identity to leverage power, causing Director He to capture Tong Jian and Zhang Jing, it was merely because of her brief acquaintance with Elisa, helping to take care of her child for Elisa’s sake; now, having witnessed such rare qualities in this child, Huo Sining completely changed her mind.

This child is clever but retains her true nature, kind yet resilient and steadfast. Being only five years old and possessing such character, she will undoubtedly be remarkable with proper nurturing over time.

Huo Sining herself had escaped from a life of hardship, so she naturally felt a close affinity toward girls coming from such environments. Therefore, she was determined that regardless of whether Elisa was still alive, she would adopt her child.

With many lice, one doesn’t fear itching; she now has quite a few children at home. Besides Zhong Xiaoyao and Jiang Xiaoqin, two older children, she also has Qibao and Niuniu, two little ones, plus the one in her belly. Her home is practically a day-care center now, so having one more Tongtong doesn’t make much of a difference.

Previously, the adoption contract Huo Sining showed to Tong Jian and Zhang Jing was merely a document hastily fabricated by Huo Sining with no legal efficacy. However, at that time, to scheme Tong Jian and Zhang Jing, entice them, Huo Sining presented such a document.

Fortunately, Tong Jian and Zhang Jing were not highly educated and felt guilty and ashamed. Hence, upon seeing the agreement and adoption documents presented by Huo Sining, they only glanced at them, too afraid to seek verification, and naively assumed Huo Sining was indeed the proxy lawyer sent by Elisa and believed the documents were real.

Huo Sining had anticipated that Tong Jian and Zhang Jing would react this way, but it was just a temporary measure. Once she truly brought Tongtong back, she decided to give this child a legitimate identity.

Luckily, Gu Xu was not doing this for the first time. After knowing Huo Sining went to Jinling, Gu Xu closely monitored his wife’s whereabouts in Jinling. Upon learning that Elisa still had a secret illegitimate daughter alive, whether out of past friendships in Mexico or gratitude for the confidential file Elisa gave them, Gu Xu decided to help Elisa with this matter, at least ensuring she rests in peace.

Gu Xu did not hide this matter from Chief Lu. After thoroughly reporting the hidden circumstances to Chief Lu, Chief Lu also felt deeply moved by Elisa and her daughter’s plight.

To Chief Lu, obtaining such confidential documents equals holding the lifeline of many key leaders of other countries. Those transaction information are crucial leverage. With proper use, Huaxia Country could see decades of unmatched diplomacy.

Receiving such a great gift, Chief Lu naturally felt obliged to reward and compensate the benefactor who presented it. But since Elisa was no longer alive, the compensation could only be directed towards her only daughter.

To Chief Lu, providing Elisa’s daughter with a legitimate identity was merely a matter of words, requiring no effort from him. Hence, Chief Lu readily agreed.

Therefore, on the second day after Huo Sining brought Tongtong back to Magic Capital, Gu Xu sent a fax to Huo Sining, promptly processing Tongtong’s adoption procedures. To compensate this child, Chief Lu was exceptionally generous, granting Tongtong an Imperial Capital residence permit and gifting her a property in the fourth ring, a high-end community house, sufficient for her future living or even a family.

However, since Tongtong is still young, Huo Sining is not rushing to have the child move into that house. For now, it remains unoccupied and she opts to keep the child with her, at least until she’s adjusted to her new life.

If it were other children, at five years old, they might still be naïve and curious about the world, but Tongtong is precocious. After spending three to five days in Huo Sining’s villa, she had it figured out and directly approached Huo Sining, asking:

”Sister, I’m never going back to Jinling, right? They’re not my biological parents, and now they don’t want me anymore, right?”

Huo Sining was taken aback and instinctively asked, ”Who told you this?”

Tongtong seriously looked at Huo Sining and said, ”I heard the aunt next door said before, I’m not my mom and dad’s biological child, they adopted me, so they only treat my brother well but don’t like me. Now that I’m living with you, sister, is it because they don’t like me and don’t want me?”

Huo Sining smiled, squatted down to look at the little girl in front of her, gently stroked her forehead, smiled, and shook her head, saying:

”No, it’s not because they don’t want you that you’ve come here. Tongtong, you’re very cute, many people like you. Look, when you lived in Jinling before, all the aunts in the neighborhood liked you, right? You’re great, you don’t need to doubt that. Tong Jian and Zhang Jing don’t like you because they have no taste, that’s not your fault!”

Tongtong’s big eyes fixedly looked at Huo Sining, the dimness in her gaze gradually vanished, and her eyes slowly became bright again.
