Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining was taken aback: ”You want to sell this place?!”

Windsor Reed gave a bitter smile:

”If I can’t dig out any diamonds, what use do I have for it? That’s why I said, Miss Huo, you are the one who determines the fate of this vast mineral vein. Without you, this mine wouldn’t land in my hands anyway. I might have ended up like the previous owner, blind to the opportunity, giving it away foolishly to others. At that time, it wouldn’t only be the former seller who regrets; I, Windsor Reed, would too.”

Saying this, Windsor Reed pushed the document towards Huo Sining again:

”Miss Huo, therefore, you should sign this document. This large mineral vein can bring me, Windsor Reed, at least over 80% profit. I’m giving you 30% as a token of appreciation and also because I have a personal reason behind it.”

Huo Sining was stunned, then quickly looked up at Windsor Reed puzzledly.

Windsor Reed smiled and explained:

”I totally admire Miss Huo’s ability to gamble on mines, so this 30% profit is a piece of my sincerity. I hope this cooperation of ours can start on the right foot.”

”As the head of the Windsor Family, I am ambitious too. The family needs to grow, needs opportunities, resources, and foundation. This vast mineral vein can offer massive resources to our family, supporting its legacy for decades, if not centuries.”

”But what about after those decades or centuries? We can’t sit idle and live off this large mineral vein forever, right?”

Huo Sining nodded but didn’t quite understand what Windsor Reed was driving at.

”Miss Huo, I am greedy, since Miss Huo has such ability, I won’t hide it any longer.”

”In fact, I have several mining rights in my hand in South Africa, Kangaroo Country, and Country E. These places are where diamond mines thrive, but I didn’t have plans to extract them before.”

”However, after the incident in Mexico, I have a new idea. Why not, I and Miss Huo make a long-term deal, what do you think?”

Huo Sining puzzled: ”A long-term deal?”

Windsor Reed nodded: ”Yes, it’s a long-term agreement signed between the entire Windsor Family and Miss Huo. Even if I, Windsor Reed, am gone, as long as Miss Huo is willing, this agreement can always be extendable.”

”We, the Windsor Family, will search for and purchase mining rights, and Miss Huo will gamble on mines. If the mine is a bust, Miss Huo bears no responsibility, if it’s profitable, regardless of size, Miss Huo receives 30% of the profits. What do you think?”

Huo Sining was surprised, she hadn’t expected Windsor Reed’s plan, so she instinctively glanced at Gu Xu beside her, hoping he could give her some advice.

Gu Xu, who had been listening to the conversation between Windsor Reed and Huo Sining without interrupting, saw his wife looking over and couldn’t help but smile. He then spoke:

”Mr. Windsor, may I ask, what guarantees this agreement? The larger the diamond mine, the more profit, yet if the gambled mine is smaller, the profit might only be 40 to 50%, and you want to give 30% to my wife. Will your family truly agree to such a deal?”

Windsor Reed laughed: ”On this point, Mr. Gu, you don’t need to worry. If I’m bold enough to propose this to Miss Huo, it means I’m not making baseless claims.”

”What you both might not know is that the Windsor Family has an ancestral rule: any regulations and agreements set by the previous head must be unconditionally obeyed by the descendants.”

”Not only that, I will use the family patriarch’s seal on the agreement. Even if I am really gone, with the patriarch’s seal, the next family head will definitely abide by the stipulations of this agreement. Seeing the seal is as good as seeing the person, it’s a rule the Windsor Family has upheld for hundreds of years.”

Gu Xu was a bit surprised by this, couldn’t help but exchange a glance with his wife.

A long-term partnership is a win for the Windsor Family, and potentially a profitable deal for Huo Sining as well.

Moreover, Windsor Reed is indeed the most generous partner she has encountered, offering such a favorable profit-sharing. Having such decisiveness and audacity to give up such a significant profit margin, Windsor Reed truly is a risk-taker!

After contemplating for a few seconds, Huo Sining smiled: ”Well, since you, Mr. Earl, are so kind to me and willing to offer such sincere compensation, I, Huo Sining, am not one to be overly cautious. I accept your proposal. From now on, if the Windsor Family has a gambling venture on mines, I, Huo Sining, am at the family patriarch’s disposal!”

Windsor Reed was overjoyed to hear Huo Sining agree and quickly waved his hand: ”Miss Huo, no need to put it so severely. I’m doing this just to secure some benefits for the future generations. For a family to last, it must have long-term goals and plans. Who can predict the future development of the diamond industry? So, before that, I want to make ample preparations for my family.”

”As for being at our command, that’s too serious. Miss Huo and I are in a cooperative relationship, not an employment one. If you are unwilling, you can unilaterally terminate this cooperation at any time. Given the relationship between me and Miss Huo, this is purely a gentleman’s agreement with mutual consent. There are no conditions or penalties involved; everything is based on Miss Huo’s willingness.”

Huo Sining nodded, she clearly understood Windsor Reed’s meaning. Gambling on mines isn’t a trivial matter, and consent from both sides is crucial. If anyone tries to force her, Huo Sining, into gambling on mines, she wouldn’t just stand by; she would cause chaos, making them lose everything.

Windsor Reed’s gentleman’s agreement resonated with Huo Sining. She was very satisfied with Windsor Reed’s attitude, so she wasn’t opposed to his request.

Besides, 30% of the profits would bring significant wealth to Huo Sining, and it’s easy money. She only needs to gamble; the rest is Windsor Family business. All she has to do is sit back and collect money. Such an effortless profit-making scheme is one that others desperately seek — Huo Sining surely has no reason to refuse, she has no reason at all to say no.
