Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 837: Chapter 833: Blame Me for the Too Good Quality

Finally finding a post related to balsam, Jin Rui couldn’t help but feel a bit disheartened when Jin Kaili unceremoniously dismissed it.

Walking out of the company dejectedly, Jin Rui thought about it and still wasn’t willing to let it go. He couldn’t resist opening that post again and noting down that QQ contact. Although Jin Kaili said that person was a fraud, Jin Rui still wanted to give it a try for some reason. If that person was indeed a fraud, he could just leave, right? After all, he had nothing to lose, nothing worth being cheated out of.

”How is it? Has anyone contacted us?” The first thing Huo Sining did after returning to the villa was to inquire about the posting progress from Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui.

Even though the balsam was kept pristine in her Space, Huo Sining was still worried about sudden market changes due to the unstable situation. To avoid any complications, she needed to execute her plan as soon as possible.

The internet began to play a significant role at this time. Since Huo Sining didn’t know any major domestic spice company owners, she could only post online and wait for buyers to come to her.

Though it was like searching for a needle in a haystack, it was safe and somewhat similar to Jiang Taigong fishing—waiting quietly for willing buyers to come. Not everyone who saw the posts would believe her, but Huo Sining wasn’t anxious, patiently waiting for a bite.

”So far, there’s not much interest. Many posts have gone unnoticed,” Luo Jinzhi replied.

Huo Sining nodded: ”Keep going, no need to rush.”

After re-taking a batch of genuine photos of the balsam cargo, Huo Sining sent them to Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui via QQ. Only then did she notice that the message bar at the bottom right corner of her QQ was flashing. Clicking on the messages, apart from greetings from middle and high school classmates, there were also unexpected messages from strangers.

Feeling puzzled, Huo Sining opened one message from someone named ”Waiting for Good News”:

”Huo Sining, I’m Wu Jingyi. I’ve been forced to leave school. Are you happy now?!”

”You’re so cold-blooded. Whether you admit it or not, my expulsion from school is all thanks to you. You must find a way to get me back into school!”

”Bitch! Don’t think you can stay out of this just because you’re in S City. You’d better handle this quickly, or I’ll hunt you down no matter where you hide!”

...

Reading this string of messages, Huo Sining couldn’t help but sneer. Wu Jingyi was behaving just as arrogantly and brainlessly as in her past life.

Someone as inconsequential as Wu Jingyi didn’t concern her at all. Huo Sining had already deleted her as a contact on QQ, but surprisingly, Wu Jingyi still found her. Thinking it over, she simply added Wu Jingyi to the blacklist.

Finally enjoying some peace, she responded to messages from a few friends and classmates. Just as she finished handling these, the message bar unexpectedly flashed again. This time, the sender was none other than Gu Xu.

”You’re so free, no class today?”

Her mood unaffected by Wu Jingyi’s messages, Huo Sining replied easily with a smiley face: ”Afternoon class. Did you return from the Philippines?”

”Yes.”

”How did it go?” Huo Sining was quite concerned about this matter.

”Not well. The fire was severe, over seventy percent of Manila was destroyed. The remaining supply of balsam is limited, and spice companies worldwide are converging on the Philippines. The local farmers whose balsam wasn’t burned are hiking up prices, and the distributors are waiting to see how the situation evolves. To secure the balsam supply, we need to pay five times or even more than the previous rates.”

Gu Xu’s reply gave Huo Sining some insight into the current balsam market. She was still a bit surprised, though; even Shengtang and Samra couldn’t resolve this raw material crisis. It seemed the problem was quite severe.

”So what will you do?” Huo Sining asked curiously.

In Imperial Capital’s Shengtang Group, Gu Xu rubbed his temples, feeling somewhat exasperated:

”Our cooperation with Samra is based on the successful launch of their new products. Now, everything’s a mess on Samra’s side, and they might not be able to release their new products this year. If they can’t handle this raw material crisis, our cooperation with Samra will fall through as well.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining had some understanding. The cooperation between Shengtang and Samra was purely for mutual benefit without any other considerations. So if their collaboration failed, it wouldn’t be considered backstabbing if she stepped in.

”Well then, don’t worry about it. There are plenty of suitable partners among the many domestic and international spice companies. The situation is bound to turn around!”

Gu Xu didn’t know that Huo Sining had gone to Yun Province for a week. He thought she had stayed in S City, and Huo Sining deliberately kept it from him, planning to give him a surprise at a crucial moment.

However, with Gu Xu just having reached a cooperation agreement with Samra, it wasn’t appropriate for her to intervene so soon. Besides, she hadn’t heard back from Bai Yishan yet. Huo Sining planned to wait another day or two. If she still didn’t receive any news from Bai Yishan by then, she would have to consider other options.

Having waited all morning with no progress in her plan, Huo Sining realized that her plan seemed somewhat flawed.

She had thought that such high-quality balsam would surely attract spice merchants, but she had overestimated the impact of the internet.

Although many people viewed and responded to the posts by Luo Jinzhi and Qin Shui, most of them were just watering the posts, with very few genuinely contacting the backend about the balsam.

The few who did show interest only asked where she had photoshopped the images, never believing that the photographs depicted real balsam.

Huo Sining then realized how terribly mistaken she was. The storage ring and Azure Pearl’s spiritual energy had improved the quality and efficacy of the balsam, but outsiders didn’t know about her heaven-defying skills. With modern technology’s storage efficiency, it was impossible to harvest such high-quality balsam. So, experienced spice merchants would take one look at those pictures and dismiss her as a fraud without a second thought.

Realizing she might have messed up the plan, Huo Sining felt a mix of frustration and amusement. Staring awkwardly at the slew of mocking replies to her post, she found herself momentarily speechless.

Could she blame the high quality of her goods for intimidating buyers?
