Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 814: Chapter 810: Father Isn’t Dead?

Seeing Huo Sining’s horrified and scared expression, Su Lan quickly gave her a comforting smile and soothed her:

”Don’t be too nervous. My sister was just a little child when the incident happened, not even an adult. Even if the seal is lifted and her consciousness is restored, there’s no way she can do something like seizing your body.”

”This won’t have much impact on you. When the time comes, you two will merge into one, at most adding some unfamiliar memories to you. Just take some time to adjust, and you’ll get used to it.”

Huo Sining didn’t understand what Su Lan meant by seal and body seizing, but hearing that it wouldn’t greatly affect her, she relaxed a bit. However, she still looked at Su Lan with some skepticism, needing to confirm:

”Really, are you sure it won’t affect me?”

Su Lan nodded, and with a solemn face, he swore while placing his hand on his head: ”I swear on the name of the Su Family Clan of Diaoti Country, if this causes you any harm, may I, Su Lan, wander this world forever, never to return to the Canghai Extreme North.”

Huo Sining didn’t know where Diaoti Country was, but seeing Su Lan’s grave demeanor and the middle-aged man beside him suddenly change his expression, she could guess that never returning to Canghai Extreme North must be a particularly vicious vow.

Huo Sining nodded and said to Su Lan: ”Then I will trust you this time! You only answered my first question, what about the second one?”

”As I said, your mother is from Bashu, that’s undeniable. I believe you’re quite aware of that.”

Seeing that Huo Sining was determined to know the answer to the second question, the corners of Su Lan’s mouth lifted, and a mysterious light gleamed in his eyes,

”As for whether your father is a Jiaoren, you need to ask your father yourself!”

Huo Sining’s entire body trembled as she suddenly looked up at Su Lan: ”What do you mean by that?”

Su Lan shrugged: ”Exactly what it sounds like.”

Huo Sining had already had suspicions, and now hearing Su Lan’s words, she was even surer of her guess. She rushed forward and grabbed Su Lan’s shoulders: ”Is my father not dead? He is still alive, isn’t he?!”

During his conversation with Huo Sining, Su Lan had already quietly restored his human form. Now with Huo Sining grabbing his shoulders, he did not move away but let her hold tight.

”Those words didn’t come from me, they came from you. Strictly speaking, my sister is in your body now, so Liang Ruining can barely count as your half father. Once the seal is released, he might not even count as half.”

Considering Huo Sining as his younger sister, Su Lan immediately investigated her after coming ashore. After learning about the enmity between the Liang Family and the Huang Family, he had no good feelings about Liang Ruining.

Due to Liang Ruining’s negligence, Huo Sining and her mother had suffered greatly. A man who can’t protect his wife and children is unworthy of being a father.

Su Lan disliked Liang Ruining even more after discovering hidden truths about the past during his investigations.

If Liang Ruining was not dead and still alive, did it mean Huo Sining’s previous sufferings were all in vain?!

However, Huo Sining didn’t care about these things. Her focus was entirely on the fact that Liang Ruining was still alive and his whereabouts. If he truly was alive, why had he been hiding all these years, never showing himself? What exactly happened?

Huo Sining thought about that peculiar Uncle Tong who stayed at the old house in the Imperial Capital. She clearly remembered that her father’s old comrade she met while visiting her father’s grave had told her that Ling Tong had participated in the mission with her father and died in that accident.

Recalling Uncle Tong, Huo Sining felt a strange sense of familiarity, and there was a red birthmark behind his ear, just like hers.

The more she thought about it, the stronger her intuition grew. The person guarding the old house was not Ling Tong. Could it be that this peculiar ”Uncle Tong” is actually her father?!

Seemingly sensing Huo Sining’s internal excitement and shock, Su Lan did not interrupt her thoughts, but quietly sat on the sofa, patiently waiting for her emotions to settle.

Who knows how much time had passed before Huo Sining’s door opened.

As soon as the door opened, Gu Xu, who had been waiting outside, immediately straightened up, his eyes fixed on the room.

Su Lan’s already decent mood turned sour upon seeing Gu Xu standing outside.

Yesterday, seeing Huo Sining dining with Gu Xu at Huajiantang, Su Lan had already become vigilant and followed them to the hotel where his sister was staying. The protector discovered that they had booked separate rooms.

Su Lan had breathed a sigh of relief, knowing they had maintained propriety. As an elder brother, he decided not to intervene.

He waited patiently until morning, planning to have breakfast with his sister, but unexpectedly, Gu Xu, the scoundrel, was the first to come out of the room!

Su Lan was furious, feeling deceived. He thought they had been secretly meeting, and he was even more irate.

Su Lan found Gu Xu displeasing in every way. Although there were many cases of intermarriages between the royal family and other races, he simply couldn’t accept that his newly reunited sister was stolen away by this Gu guy. The news was infuriating!

The result was unacceptable to Su Lan. In his rage, he wanted to teach Gu Xu a lesson. Although Su Lan possessed the Spiritual Pearl, using it carelessly was not an option. Yet, in terms of martial arts alone, he was evenly matched with Gu Xu.

Su Lan wanted to give Gu Xu a good beating but was powerless to do so. The protector behind simply watched, unwilling to intervene. This left Su Lan both angry and helpless. With Huo Sining trying her best to prevent the brawl, he reluctantly dropped the idea for the time being.
