Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 817: Chapter 813: Teammate Like a Pig

Taicheng Museum is located on the west bank of the Fen River in Tai City, facing the Fen River at the front and backed by an inland river, bordering Tai City Theater in the north and Tai City Science and Technology Museum in the east. It is one of the large modern, comprehensive museums.

Huo Sining had visited many museums with history, but it was her first time seeing such a modern museum like Taicheng. So when she followed Qiao Zhenhuan to Taicheng Museum, she suddenly felt a bit unsure if she was in the right place.

Since it was summer vacation, the Secret Color Porcelain from Yue Kiln was exhibited every Wednesday and Friday. Coincidentally, this day was Friday, and for such significant artifacts, the exhibition schedule was meticulously planned.

Unlike regular exhibition halls, entry into the Tang Porcelain Treasures Exhibition Hall, where the Yue Kiln Celadon was displayed, required tickets, and purchase of tickets necessitated registration of ID card information.

Given Qiao Zhenhuan’s status, he could have directly brought Huo Sining into the hall without the need to buy a ticket. However, he intentionally wanted to embarrass Huo Sining or give her a harsh welcome. Hence, while leading the way, he deliberately left Huo Sining a few meters behind.

Because Qiao Zhenhuan had a work badge, no one stopped him when he entered the hall, but when it came to Huo Sining, the staff habitually reached out to stop her.

Captain Wu, after picking up Qiao Zhenhuan from the airport, received a call from the bureau to handle an emergency, so he didn’t accompany them to the museum. Now, Huo Sining was blocked by the staff at the door. She raised her eyebrows, glanced at Qiao Zhenhuan inside the hall, who was looking at her with a provocative gaze.

Huo Sining was too indifferent to respond to Qiao Zhenhuan’s petty tricks and didn’t want to pay attention to them. It was clear that Qiao Zhenhuan wanted her to be humiliated, but such calculations were wasted on someone like Huo Sining.

Instead of following the staff’s instructions to buy a ticket with her ID card, Huo Sining took out her phone and directly dialed Director Bai’s number.

”Director Bai, I’ve arrived at the entrance, but I seem unable to enter the Tang Ceramics Hall. I noticed that the Secret Color Porcelain is on display today. It’s quite inconvenient. I think it’s better if I return to S City for now and come back when I have time to check it out next time.”

Director Bai was initially pleased to hear that Huo Sining had arrived at the Tang Ceramics Hall and was about to arrange for Qiao Zhenhuan to take care of things. But upon hearing Huo Sining’s tone in the latter part of her statement, Director Bai realized something was amiss.

”Wait, wait, Miss Huo, you came all the way to Tai City, how can you leave so soon? Please wait there for a moment, I’ll be there right away. It’s not often that you come from S City, I haven’t even had the chance to welcome you properly.”

Director Bai sensed Huo Sining’s displeasure and hurriedly tried to soothe her, though he was also quite enraged inside. What was Qiao Zhenhuan doing? Wasn’t he supposed to pick her up from the airport and receive her properly? How did things end up with Huo Sining blocked outside the museum?

Director Bai had good intentions initially. Knowing that Huo Sining was coming over and seeing that she was of similar age as Qiao Zhenhuan, he thought young people would have more topics to talk about, so he deliberately sent Qiao Zhenhuan to pick her up.

Contrary to Qiao Zhenhuan’s perspective, Director Bai’s considerations were much more long-term and sophisticated. He was also more aware of Zhou Shitao as a person.

Director Bai had worked in the museum industry for thirty to forty years and had heard enough about Zhou Shitao. Zhou Shitao was stubborn, only recognizing talent and skill regardless of background.

Huo Sining, a young woman under twenty, could gain Zhou Shitao’s favor, which clearly wasn’t through connections but genuine talent.

Moreover, Huo Sining’s remarkable performance in Tai City prompted Director Bai to investigate her further. What he found was quite surprising.

This young woman had started from scratch and accumulated a wealth that many wouldn’t earn in a lifetime within just a year. She founded Jade Company, held significant shares in various projects at Biological Research Institute, and excelled in stone gambling.

With such talent and capability at a young age, her future was undoubtedly promising.

Hence, Director Bai had meticulously arranged for his nephew to pick her up, aiming to foster a good relationship between Qiao Zhenhuan and Huo Sining.

Unfortunately, no matter how well Director Bai planned, it was all futile with a useless teammate.

Qiao Zhenhuan failed to understand Director Bai’s intentions, showing an unwelcoming attitude to Huo Sining right from the start and causing her further difficulties at the museum, clearly not wanting to associate with her.

Director Bai hurriedly ran out of his office and upon reaching the Tang Ceramics Hall, he indeed saw Huo Sining standing outside, with several staff members on duty stopping her from entering.

Director Bai glanced around outside and didn’t see Qiao Zhenhuan, immediately realizing that the situation was likely messed up by him. His face darkened as he walked straight towards Huo Sining with a smile:

”Miss Huo, sorry to keep you waiting, I was occupied with something just now and couldn’t make it to the airport to pick you up.”

Huo Sining glanced at the panting Director Bai, noting the genuine anxiety and apologies on his face, which slightly reduced her displeasure. She nodded calmly and said:

”It’s alright, I’m just here following my master’s instructions to help. No need to be so polite, Director Bai. Let’s head inside directly, as it’s near closing time, it won’t disrupt your regular exhibition schedule.”

Director Bai listened to Huo Sining’s words, revealing a bitter smile.

Regular exhibition? If the Secret Color Porcelain had indeed been swapped, the Tang Porcelain Treasures Exhibition Hall would become a joke, displaying a counterfeit as a treasure and deceiving visitors. If such news spread, Taicheng Museum would be a laughingstock, and Director Bai wouldn’t be able to stay in his position.

Though thinking this way, Director Bai knew he couldn’t delay. If the Secret Color Porcelain was indeed fake, the sooner it was confirmed, the more time they had to locate the original artifact. Despite not wanting the situation to be true, he had to act promptly.

”Alright, Miss Huo, please follow me.”

Sighing inwardly, Director Bai led Huo Sining into the Tang Ceramics Hall.

With the director personally escorting, the staff naturally didn’t dare to block them. Curiosity filled their eyes as they looked at Huo Sining, pondering over who this young girl might be to warrant the director’s personal reception.
