Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 827: Chapter 823: One-on-One Challenge

Song Hui walked over and ordered five skewers of kidneys. Just as he pulled up a chair to sit down and looked up, he saw Zhang Shuang sitting across from him, looking fresh and neat, and the smile on his face suddenly froze.

Zhang Shuang was holding a skewer, ready to put it in his mouth, but when he saw the person sitting across from him, his hand stopped moving.

Seeing the expressions on their faces, Qin Tian’s sharp eyes immediately detected something was going on and he jokingly teased, ”What, you two know each other?”

”No!”

”No!”

They answered in unison, but Zhang Shuang’s gaze was as venomous as if it were poisoned, glaring fiercely at Song Hui, while Song Hui’s eyes were also hostile, as if throwing daggers at Zhang Shuang.

It was clear at a glance that the two had met before and had quite a bit of history. Qin Tian immediately became interested, his eyes flashing with curiosity, and he jokingly said to Huo Sining, ”Sis-in-law, who are these two? You haven’t introduced them yet.”

Huo Sining and Gu Xu also noticed the odd expressions between Song Hui and Zhang Shuang. However, as Qin Tian asked, of course, she had to introduce everyone. When she mentioned that Song Hui was the vice president of Shengtang Group, a cold smile appeared in Zhang Shuang’s eyes, and he looked at Song Hui with obvious meaning.

Hit-and-run, let’s see you run now. I’ve found your hideout. Let’s see where you can hide!

Song Hui was infuriated. Damn it! He had just bought a Bugatti Veyron less than half a month ago. He accidentally rear-ended this little girl’s car and didn’t stop, and then she viciously chased after him, ramping up speed and crashing into his car after he overtook her.

Just the thought of his Bugatti Veyron’s wrecked state made Song Hui furious, and his gaze towards Zhang Shuang was full of anger.

Damn it, you’re just a small-time detective, why are you acting so tough? If you keep glaring, I’ll make sure you can’t work in the police force!

Qin Tian scrutinized Zhang Shuang from head to toe, finding her more and more interesting.

It was the first time he had seen a woman act tough in front of Song Hui. This woman sure had guts.

”Sis-in-law, your friend is quite interesting, staring at me like that. Does she have a thing for me?”

Song Hui was used to his carefree style. His status allowed him to walk arrogantly in the Imperial Capital. Now, suddenly, someone wasn’t giving him face, and it was a woman. He immediately felt like teasing her. He didn’t even feel embarrassed in front of so many people and started spouting nonsense.

Hearing Song Hui’s words, Zhang Shuang immediately got angry, her face darkening, and she sneered at Song Hui, ”With a surname like Song, let’s not beat around the bush. Cut the crap. If you’re really unhappy, let’s settle this in a one-on-one fight!”

Song Hui was an ex-special forces soldier. He wasn’t afraid of trouble. Hearing Zhang Shuang’s words, he immediately stood up and sneered, ”A one-on-one fight? Who’s afraid of who? With your little arms and legs, I just worry you’ll blame me for bullying a woman if you lose!”

What’s going on?!

Huo Sining and Huang Hanyun were eating when they suddenly saw Zhang Shuang stand up, and then both of them started facing off, sleeves rolled up, ready to fight.

Uh... Huo Sining’s understanding of Zhang Shuang was refreshed once again. Brother Shuang’s reputation was indeed well-deserved.

Seeing that they were serious, Huo Sining also became anxious. She invited people to have barbecued skewers, not to fight. If they really started a brawl, it’d be difficult for her and Gu Xu to intervene.

”Song Hui, can you stop acting like it rains every time a woman challenges you? Are you really going to argue with a woman?”

”Brother Shuang, let’s talk this out. We’re all adults, no need to argue with these silly men. Let’s just eat!”

Gu Xu and Huo Sining exchanged a glance and immediately began a strategy to placate both sides, trying to calm these two angry lions.

Unfortunately, both were stubborn and couldn’t be persuaded. They moved to a broader area outside and assumed fighting stances, ready to settle this.

Huo Sining and Gu Xu were about to try persuading them again when Huang Hanyun suddenly laughed and said, ”No need to persuade them. They’re both full of anger. Your persuasion won’t work.”

Huang Hanyun seemed relaxed, but Huo Sining was speechless at her nonchalant attitude.

Why are you so indifferent? Your friend is the one you brought here, and she’s now in a conflict with Song Hui. How can you act like nothing’s happening?

Song Hui was a military man; his fighting skills were excellent. Zhang Shuang fighting him was like delivering herself to be bullied. This fight clearly put Zhang Shuang at a disadvantage.

Seeing through Huo Sining’s thoughts, Huang Hanyun smiled and explained, ”Brother Shuang has been learning Wing Chun Fist and Yue Family Fist from her grandfather since she was a child. She’s no slouch when it comes to martial arts. This fight’s outcome is far from certain.”

Hearing Huang Hanyun’s words, Huo Sining was surprised and understood why Zhang Shuang was so confident in challenging Song Hui. Huang Hanyun wasn’t worried but wore an expression of watching a show.

Qin Tian sat nearby, and hearing Huang Hanyun say that Zhang Shuang had learned traditional martial arts, he showed a strange smile: ”Now, this will be interesting!”

Gu Xu knew exactly why Qin Tian found it interesting. Because Song Hui was skilled in martial arts, Qin Tian and Ouyang Jun had suffered at Song Hui’s hands many times. Now that a woman was challenging Song Hui, Qin Tian was eager for Zhang Shuang to beat Song Hui, giving them something to mock him with in the future.

Qin Tian, ever the troublemaker, immediately took out his phone, ready to record the event. How could he not leave evidence of such a significant event?

Qin Tian also thought about using the video to blackmail Ouyang Jun, who had recently made a lot of money in the stock market. Who else to blackmail but him?

Seeing Qin Tian’s actions, Huo Sining felt lines appearing on her forehead.

What kind of friends were these? They were too devious!

Unfortunately, although Qin Tian had grand plans, his actions weren’t swift enough. He had just opened his phone’s camera and hadn’t switched to the video mode when Song Hui gave Zhang Shuang a disdainful middle finger, instantly enraging Zhang Shuang.

She lifted her leg and kneed forward, charging at Song Hui. Song Hui was ready to counter her move, but Zhang Shuang seemed to have anticipated his defense. She abruptly retreated three steps, then lunged forward again. Her body leaped into the air, her left foot kicked out, then abruptly retracted, and her right foot launched a series of rapid kicks, mixing real and fake moves. She executed a move as lethal as Wong Fei Hung’s shadowless kick!
