Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 811: Chapter 807 Who Are You Exactly?

”Wait!”

Seeing that Su Lan was about to clash with Gu Xu again, Huo Sining furrowed her brows and stared intently at Su Lan: ”What did you just say? Sister, who is your sister?”

Su Lan froze, realizing he had misspoken. He turned his head awkwardly to look at Huo Sining, opened his mouth to smooth things over, but couldn’t find a suitable excuse despite searching his mind for a long while.

Huo Sining looked at Su Lan with a half-smile: ”You’d better give me a reasonable explanation. What’s going on here? If I remember correctly, last year you said you were my fiancé, and now you’re talking about brother and sister. Your identity switch is quite fast. You rush in and start fighting — do you think you’re in Contra?!”

Su Lan’s face turned awkward, he glanced uncomfortably at Huo Sining and mumbled: ”Ningning, I was just too worried about you. This guy looks like bad news. You haven’t made anything official yet, and you’re already spending the night with him. If he regrets it later, you’re the one who’ll suffer!”

Gu Xu, hearing this, let out a cold laugh, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and stared at Su Lan with eyes like a hawk:

”You don’t need to worry about that. She’s my woman, and I will naturally protect and pamper her. No need for an outsider like you to meddle. Didn’t you get enough of a beating? Fine, I’ll have some fun with you today!”

Provoked by Gu Xu’s words, Su Lan was instantly enraged again, rolling up his sleeves ready to charge forward.

”Aren’t you two done yet?!” Usually mild-tempered, Huo Sining finally exploded, her angry shout as cold as her glare, ”Both of you, stop. Otherwise, get out. I don’t even know you!”

The two men, who were full of fighting spirit, immediately had no choice upon hearing Huo Sining’s outburst. They slumped their shoulders like scolded Heitan and Lei Shi, obediently retracting their claws and sitting back on the hotel’s room sofa.

The protector nearby couldn’t help but laugh softly at seeing their young master so compliant, which earned him a fierce glare from Su Lan.

Huo Sining also noticed the middle-aged man standing beside Su Lan. For some reason, this man felt very familiar to her, especially the aura he carried. It seemed like she had seen him somewhere before.

However, Huo Sining’s main focus was not on this middle-aged man at the moment; she was more concerned about Su Lan’s identity.

This guy speaks nonsense without a single truthful word, Huo Sining recalled how she saved Su Lan on Zheng Huaqing’s yacht and how he had babbled on then. Now, suddenly showing up and hitting Gu Xu, Huo Sining’s suspicions about Su Lan deepened even further.

She absolutely did not believe he was her fiancé, but the concern and importance in Su Lan’s eyes didn’t seem fake, which made Huo Sining even more curious about what relationship she had with this man.

”Who exactly are you?” With doubts in mind, Huo Sining didn’t hold back but asked straightforwardly.

Seeing Huo Sining’s fixed gaze on him, Su Lan’s words of subterfuge wouldn’t come out. He glanced at the protector, who was deliberately avoiding his eyes, clearly indicating: A lie requires a million more to cover up. You deceived Miss Huo, so solve it yourself; don’t drag me into it.

Seeing the protector’s unapologetic, happy-to-watch-a-show expression, Su Lan felt both annoyed and embarrassed, rubbed his nose, and looked at Huo Sining and then at Gu Xu: ”Are you sure you want me to say this here? In front of this outsider?”

”What do you mean?” Gu Xu stood up immediately, his eyes blazing as he glared at Su Lan, ”Stop sowing discord here. My wife and I are family, so who exactly is the outsider in this room?!”

Gu Xu disliked this suddenly appearing Su Lan very much. This man looked even more beautiful than a woman, with an androgynous aura. Having spent time in the military, Gu Xu was used to seeing men full of masculinity and did not like Su Lan’s sly, calculating look. Gu Xu felt this man was up to no good, full of intrigues, and clearly not a good person!

Now, this man was even trying to sow discord right in front of him and Huo Sining. Gu Xu naturally became even more displeased, pointing at Su Lan rudely and then turning his head to look at Huo Sining, seeking her affirmation.

Huo Sining trusted Gu Xu a lot and was about to affirm his words. But as she glanced up, she saw the red pearl on Su Lan’s forehead suddenly emerge, burning with flames, illuminating his peach blossom eyes with a fiery glow.

Huo Sining’s expression changed, recalling the mysterious words Su Lan had said to her on the yacht.

— I know you won’t believe me, but it’s true. My Fire Spirit Pearl and your Ice Spirit Bead are engagement tokens. No matter where they are, these two pearls can sense each other. I found you by following the Spiritual Energy.

— I told you, I know how to control the Ice Spirit Bead. Give me three months, and I’ll teach you the entire mental method so you can fully master it.

Staring at the red pearl on Su Lan’s forehead for a few seconds, Huo Sining suddenly spoke: ”Gu Xu, could you step out for a moment? I need to speak with Mr. Su privately.”

Gu Xu’s eyes, filled with expectation, suddenly dimmed, and his heart sank.

On the other hand, Su Lan, hearing Huo Sining’s words, felt particularly smug, lifting his chin with a smile, a look of triumph aimed at Gu Xu as if mocking him for his futile efforts.

Feeling frustrated, Gu Xu’s heart sank, but he couldn’t go against Huo Sining’s wishes. He could only nod, give his wife a pitiful look, then turn and give Su Lan a fierce glare before reluctantly stepping out of the room.

Seeing Gu Xu leaving like a defeated dog, Su Lan felt ecstatic. Haha, the annoying guy is finally gone. Seems like, to his little sister, his brotherly position is still held in high regard.

While Su Lan was imagining moments of his sister admiring her brother, Huo Sining crossed her arms and glared coldly at him: ”Alright, you got rid of him. Now that your tricks are done, you should explain what’s really going on, right?!”

Su Lan, previously feeling smug, deflated instantly at Huo Sining’s words, like a punctured balloon, losing all the superiority he’d felt in front of Gu Xu.
