Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 831: Chapter 827: Is Balsam Just Fat from the Skin?

”When it comes to this, the corners of Qin Shaoyou’s mouth curled into a slightly gloating smile: ’You weren’t here yesterday morning, so I regret to inform you that I already agreed to this requirement on your behalf.’

Huo Sining’s expression instantly froze.

Agree on her behalf, what the hell?

’Dongyang also has a two-semester system, but their second semester starts in October and ends in January next year.’

’For this exchange program, you need to spend one semester at Sota University. I’ve filled out the application for you; when the time comes, you just need to sign it.’

From Qin Shaoyou’s tone, it seemed like he was eager to pack her off to Dongyang. Huo Sining was rendered speechless.

’I have to juggle the company and Xianyu Shop’s business, and I plan to open an antiques shop in the Imperial Capital. Also, I need to learn appraisal from Professor Zhou. You expect me to go as an exchange student? Do you think I have the ability to clone myself?’

After a moment of silence, Huo Sining suddenly spoke up.

Qin Shaoyou shrugged: ’That’s not my concern. I forgot to mention that the research institute also agrees with this. They decided to take this opportunity to have you promote the Huaxia Koi project in Dongyang and open up the Oriental Market in advance.’

...

Huo Sining didn’t know what to say anymore. These people really had a lot of nerve, making decisions for her without even consulting her. Were they not afraid she would refuse?

However, Huo Sining had no interest in arguing with Qin Shaoyou at this moment. The news and comments online were not only visible to her but others were also watching. If other spice merchants or opportunists discovered the secret of the Pili oil and beat her to it, her plans would most likely fall apart.

Worried about getting to Yunnan, Huo Sining hastily agreed and took a week’s leave note from Qin Shaoyou. She quickly prepared the funds and set off for Yun Province.

Last time at Ruili, Huo Sining had come and gone in a hurry. This time, she was racing against the clock again. Though Yun Province was beautiful, Huo Sining’s mind was preoccupied with balsam, leaving no time to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Jinghong City. As soon as she got off the plane, she headed straight to Xishuangbanna.

Before boarding the plane, Huo Sining had already contacted Yan En.

Yan En was the man with the online ID Meng Balanaxi.

Learning that Huo Sining was on her way, Yan En was both excited and nervous. He was young, barely in his twenties, and this was his first time cooperating with someone in business. However, upon meeting Huo Sining at the airport, he was stunned.

For a deal worth millions, Yan En expected the person he would work with to be at least thirty years old, perhaps a middle-aged man. But now, seeing the person he was to connect with, a girl of the same age, he was both surprised and skeptical.

Could this fresh-faced girl with a backpack really be here to negotiate a business deal?

Probably sensing Yan En’s suspicion, Huo Sining extended her hand with a smile: ’Hi Yan En, I’m Huo Sining.’

Yan En, too stunned to believe it, swallowed hard and cautiously asked: ’Miss Huo, are you really here to buy Pili oil?’

’What? Do I not look like I’m here for business?’ Huo Sining smiled playfully and teased, turning her head to look at Yan En.

Realizing he might have said something wrong, Yan En blushed and waved his hand, stammering: ’No, no, I’m just surprised that you’re so young, Miss Huo.’

Huo Sining chuckled: ’Making money has nothing to do with age, right? If you don’t seize an opportunity, you’re a fool, don’t you think?’

Yan En agreed with her words but felt uncomfortable dealing with someone his age from a big city like her. He didn’t even know where to place his hands.

’No need to be so nervous, Yan En. Just be as cheerful as you are online, isn’t that fine?’

Seeing Yan En’s starkly different behavior online and in person, Huo Sining smiled: ’Although I’m here to work with you, we can also become good friends. I’ll call you Yan En, and you can just call me Huo Sining.’

Following Yan En to Daluo Town in Menghai County, they went straight to the area where Yan En’s family lived in Xishuangbanna.

If they were going to discuss partnership, they should first see the goods.

Understanding this, Yan En led Huo Sining into the forest without needing her to ask, and directly took her to a tall tree.

Huo Sining had researched balsam and Pili tree from Manila online and had photos of the Manila plants. The tree in front of her indeed resembled the Manila plants.

But without seeing the Pili oil, Huo Sining did not dare to conclude too quickly.

’This is a Pili tree. The Pili oil I mentioned comes from this tree. Now is the season for oil extraction. There’s a lot of oil in the bark of these trees. Let me cut some for you to see.’

Yan En explained briefly and then used a small knife to gently cut a blade of the tree’s bark. Within three to five seconds, a large amount of oil seeped from the bark’s wound.

Before coming, Huo Sining had obtained a sample of balsam from a spice factory to compare with Yan En’s described Pili oil.

Seeing the oil seep out, she quickly took out a small box to collect the fresh oil.

Balsam has a unique fragrance, and the freshly extracted oil is a translucent liquid with a rich, distinctive aroma. When exposed to air, it solidifies into a pale yellow gel-like material. If not processed, it quickly evaporates, hardening into red-brown lumps within hours.

This characteristic makes balsam easily identifiable. Huo Sining compared the two oils and soon concluded they were the same; there was no difference between them.

This conclusion excited Huo Sining greatly. This discovery revealed a significant business opportunity. Now, having gotten ahead, she just needs to transport the balsam back, and her plans can proceed step by step.

Having confirmed the answer, Huo Sining didn’t want to waste any time. She immediately started discussing partnership details with Yan En.

She took out detailed assessments from her backpack prepared before coming, including market supply and prices of raw balsam. Considering the data, she had devised two cooperation plans.
