Urban Martial Saint

Upon hearing Li Lianshan’s words, Yelu Ying felt a warmth in her heart. It seems Ye Qing had already arranged everything for them, which made her trust Ye Qing even more.

”Li, you don’t have to go through so much trouble. We just need a place to stay; we can handle the rest ourselves,” Yelu Ying replied.

”How can that be okay?” Li Lianshan said, ”You are Ye Zi’s friends, which makes you one of us. Coming here means you are our guests, and I must treat you well. Miss Yelu, after we see Ye Zi off, I’ll first take you to check out the place. If there’s anything unsuitable, feel free to tell me—no need to be polite!”

”This... thank you, Li...” Yelu Ying turned to look at Ye Qing, blushing slightly, and whispered, ”Ye, thank you too!”

”No problem.” Ye Qing nodded and asked Li Lianshan, ”By the way, has my uncle arrived?”

”He arrived last night and has already been settled,” Li Lianshan paused, then continued, ”But the old gentleman isn’t staying at the place I arranged; he’s staying at the orphanage.”

”Why?” Ye Qing was surprised.

”He said he prefers being around children, so he’s staying at the orphanage. I arranged everything, but he didn’t want to come, and I couldn’t do anything about it. So, I arranged for him to stay at the orphanage. In fact, today he’s been sparring with some of the sect leaders from there; he seems to really enjoy life over there,” Li Lianshan said helplessly.

Several local sects in Shenchuan City were previously used by Xu Cunxiao against Ye Qing. Later on, Ye Qing exposed Xu Cunxiao’s scheme, preserving much of these sects’ strength. They then all joined Ye Qing. Those who were not successful in martial arts were given jobs by Ye Qing, providing them with a regular source of income so they wouldn’t fall into the gang life. Those who excelled in martial arts were arranged by Ye Qing to be at the orphanage to teach children some martial arts for fitness and to protect the orphanage.

The sect leaders here have considerable strength. Having them guard the orphanage is not a bad idea. These leaders were always worried about their sects declining because they couldn’t recruit disciples. Even when paying people to learn, few were willing, and the sects were on the brink of extinction.

Now, with Ye Qing placing them in the orphanage and giving them a good salary and many children to teach, it suits their hearts perfectly. So, their life at the orphanage is exceptionally comfortable; even without Ye Qing’s salary, they wouldn’t leave. And as long as Ye Qing doesn’t ask them to kill or set fires, they’d do anything he asks!

Having Li Changshan get along with these people is fortunate. As long as he doesn’t go seeking revenge against Ning Qianshu, Ye Qing has nothing to worry about. Plus, if he can recruit a few disciples here and let the Li Style Bajiquan flourish, it’s a good thing, ensuring the inheritance of the Northern Fist King Li San isn’t lost!

”Ye Zi, your uncle probably needs coaxing from you!” Li Lianshan said, ”I’ve arranged a villa with a great view. He can move in anytime once you convince him.”

”Why convince him?” Ye Qing countered.

”Nonsense! Do you intend for your uncle to stay at the school dormitory?” Li Lianshan widened his eyes.

Ye Qing looked at Li Lianshan and said, ”Respect his own decision!”

Li Lianshan scratched his head, unable to understand what Ye Qing was thinking but didn’t probe further. Since Ye Qing, as the nephew, said so, why should he worry?

”Old Wang Ba, what have you planned for these days?” Ye Qing turned to Old Wang Ba, who was sitting to the side, grooming his hair with interest, and asked, ”Want to join me in the Meng District?”

”Are you joking?” Old Wang Ba snorted, ”Why would Eighth Master want to go? I don’t know martial arts—am I supposed to be cannon fodder?”

Ye Qing said, ”But you shouldn’t just wander around. I’ll need to find you later.”

Old Wang Ba replied, ”Don’t worry. I’m tired from running around. It’s a good chance to rest for a few days. You go ahead and do your thing; don’t worry about Eighth Master here, just as long as Li Lianshan knows to give me a few million as pocket money daily—I’ll take care of myself!”

”That’s good.” Ye Qing chuckled and leaned over to Li Lianshan, whispering a few words.

Old Wang Ba strained his ear, hearing nothing. As soon as Ye Qing finished, he immediately went over and asked, ”Hey, Little Li Zi, what secret chat did Young Ye have with you? Did he tell you to give me more pocket money every day?”

Li Lianshan chuckled and said, ”Ye Zi told me to keep a close eye on you, not to let you run off!”

”Is that all?” Old Wang Ba scratched his head and said, ”What about the money?”

Li Lianshan laughed, ”Ye Zi said, the meals will be enough, and the accommodation will be taken care of. As for the rest, no way!”

Old Wang Ba asked curiously, ”This… what do you mean?”

Li Lianshan: ”It means no payment!”

”Are you two messing with me?” Old Wang Ba’s eyes widened immediately. He turned to Ye Qing and said anxiously, ”For someone like me, even a casual Iron Mouth Divine Reckoning is worth hundreds of thousands. I’ve been staying here for so many days, and all I get is food? Do you think you’re feeding a dog?”

”It’s not the same!” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”Eighth Master, the food you eat is definitely better than what a dog eats!”

”Damn you!” Old Wang Ba flicked his hair and said, ”If there’s no payment, don’t expect me to stay here.”

As soon as Old Wang Ba finished speaking, four or five men rushed up and surrounded him in the middle.

”Eighth Master, don’t worry. To ensure your safety, I will assign one hundred people to protect you around the clock.” Li Lianshan smiled and said, ”You don’t have to thank me; with our relationship, it’s all just what I should do!”

”Damn!” Old Wang Ba was left speechless and frustrated, giving both Li Lianshan and Ye Qing the middle finger to express his discontent.

Ye Qing ignored him, thinking that this old guy wouldn’t give him face anymore. Failing to find him at a critical moment had already cost Ye Qing a lot. Now that he finally caught him, there’s no way he’s letting him run away. This time, he must keep him in Shenchuan City.

Checking the time, it was about time to catch the plane. Ye Qing said goodbye to the Yelu family and then walked with Li Lianshan towards the waiting lounge.

”How are things going on the Xi Hang side now?” Once away from the crowd, Ye Qing immediately asked quietly. Handsome Fatty Wang had emptied the Shen Family’s Treasure Pavilion, which made Ye Qing quite embarrassed, as it was he who left Handsome Fatty Wang at Xihang Shen Family’s.

”Sigh!” Li Lianshan sighed helplessly and said, ”That fatty is a sly old fox, finding him is not an easy task. The Shen Family has already sent many people out to find him. On my side, I’ve also sent a lot of people to keep an eye on the black markets everywhere. Not only that, Cheng Shuang has also mobilized a large number of police to investigate this matter. But strangely, in just a few days, that fatty seems to have vanished into thin air, not a single trace seen, no progress at all!”

Ye Qing frowned. He knew Handsome Fatty Wang was good at hiding, but he couldn’t have hidden to this extent. With so much time passed, not a single clue could be found. Where could that guy possibly be hiding?

”Ye Zi, hasn’t Old Wang Ba come back?” Li Lianshan looked at Ye Qing and suddenly said excitedly, ”Why not let Old Wang Ba calculate it, see where that fatty is now? Isn’t Old Wang Ba bragging about his Iron Mouth Divine Calculation? Finding one fatty shouldn’t be a big deal, right?”

”Sigh, if I could get him to calculate, I would’ve gotten him to do it long ago!” Ye Qing sighed helplessly and said, ”I asked him about this last time too, but Old Wang Ba kept saying that he couldn’t calculate anything about Handsome Fatty Wang. I reckon he’s just deliberately being perfunctory, doesn’t want to calculate!”

”What’s his relationship with Handsome Fatty Wang? Why doesn’t he want to calculate?” Li Lianshan asked curiously.

”Who knows!” Ye Qing shrugged, also puzzled about the relationship between the two. He only knew that they were equally shameless. Ye Qing came to know Handsome Fatty Wang because of Old Wang Ba, back then Old Wang Ba had conned Handsome Fatty Wang into stealing Ye Qing’s Seven-Star Ancient Sword. Who knows what Old Wang Ba was thinking at that time.

”Do you think the two of them could be in cahoots?” Li Lianshan speculated, ”Steal the stuff, then Handsome Fatty Wang sells it, and Old Wang Ba shares the loot? They are a team of great thieves!”

”No way!” Ye Qing shook his head decisively, knowing well that if Old Wang Ba really wanted to make money, it wouldn’t be hard for him. But Old Wang Ba was still living so poorly, unable even to borrow an electric bike, which showed he wasn’t really greedy for money. His appearance of greediness was just empty talk.

”Then what on earth is going on?” Li Lianshan was perplexed, knowing even less about this situation than Ye Qing did, unable to fathom the reason behind it.

”Whatever the case, we still have to find a way to find that fatty, and first recover the Shen Family’s famed instrument!” Ye Qing paused and looked at Li Lianshan, ”By the way, has Uncle Shen returned to Shen Family Manor?”

”Yes, after the incident happened, he immediately went back,” Li Lianshan said, ”These past few days, he’s been at Shen Family Manor and hasn’t come out.”

”Oh.” Ye Qing nodded, but was somewhat surprised in his heart. Logically speaking, with the Sun Shooting Bow about to appear, experts from all over the world would gather in Humeng City. As one of the Five Unmatches of the World, Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun shouldn’t be so quiet. Even if he didn’t plan to seize the Sun Shooting Bow, he at least should go and take a look, right? Why would he stay at Shen Family Manor and not come out? Is the loss of Shen Family Manor’s famed instrument such a big worry for him?
