Urban Martial Saint

”The blood of the Seven Great Families!” Ye Qing took a deep breath, finally understanding how the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance controlled the Sun Shooting Bow. Without the blood of the Seven Great Families, this tomb cannot be opened. Therefore, only the people of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance can ultimately enter this tomb and take the Sun Shooting Bow.

It must be said, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance’s method is truly ingenious. The Sun Shooting Bow is under the control of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, even the Twelve Green Halls can’t come and contend for it.

Old Wang Ba glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”However, the blood of the Seven Great Families, due to relationships with outside clans through marriage, will surely weaken over time. Moreover, the ongoing conflict between the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls means that if anything unexpected happens and any family gets wiped out, wouldn’t the Sun Shooting Bow be thoroughly sealed away then?”

”That’s right.” Ye Qing awoke with a start and asked, ”What should we do then?”

”Don’t worry, the people of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance aren’t fools. For the Sun Shooting Bow, they’ve long had arrangements.” Old Wang Ba said, ”When they built this tomb, they established an agreement. To ensure this tomb could be opened and that the bloodline remains intact, each family would leave a pair of males and females here. This pair would be hidden by the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance and replaced every twenty years. This way, even if the families outside are destroyed, there are always people guarding here, both male and female, to keep the bloodline intact and open the tomb!”

”Could Zi Yu’s brother and sister-in-law be that pair left here back in the day?” Ye Qing exclaimed.

”Exactly!” Old Wang Ba nodded and said, ”Not only her brother and sister but even her uncle Blood-Sealed Throat was one of the boys left here back in the day. However, these children were raised in a closed environment from a young age, not knowing their identities until they leave here. Even among the Seven Great Families, only the Family Head knows about this. So, after they are replaced and leave, how to live becomes a serious problem. They can’t return to their family, otherwise, the secret of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance would leak. Hence, they must wander and survive on their own. These people are quite pitiful, really.”

”Blood-Sealed Throat is a typical example here. He’s Huangfu Ziyu’s uncle and very aware of his origins and responsibilities. So, he didn’t return to the Huangfu Household. However, after the fall of the Huangfu Household, he risked his life to revive it. Like that time when he joined forces with Ning Qianshu’s disciple, trying to deal with the Xihang Shen Family. Because in his view, it was the Xihang Shen Family that expelled Huangfu Ziyu, causing her to suffer so much, he seeks revenge.” Old Wang Ba paused then continued, ”Moreover, the Huangfu Household is also in Xihang. To rebuild the Huangfu Household, he must crush the Shen Family for the Huangfu Household to stand out. This person’s methods are indeed ruthless, but one must admit, his dedication to the Huangfu Household is unquestionable!”

Listening to Old Wang Ba’s explanation, Ye Qing couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional. It seems that for some people and some things, you really can’t just look at the surface. When he first met the Right Protector Blood-Sealed Throat, he always viewed him as a major enemy. Who would’ve thought everything he did was just for the family? Should such actions be condemned, or are they understandable?

”Alright, I’ve told you everything about the Sun Shooting Bow, now let’s talk about why Huangfu Ziyu is here.” Old Wang Ba said, ”The Heaven Earth Man Three Gates are about to open, and the Sun Shooting Bow is about to appear. But once the Sun Shooting Bow appears, who exactly should hold it, is also a very important question.”

”Given the current situation, shouldn’t it be handed directly to General Helian?” Ye Qing said.

”It’s not as simple as you think.” Old Wang Ba shook his head and said, ”Helian Tiehua has the power of the Five Uniques, and the Sun Shooting Bow doesn’t really add much to his strength. However, if the Sun Shooting Bow falls into the hands of an ordinary person, that person would have the strength to contend with the Five Unmatches of the World. In that scenario, do you think the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance should nurture someone comparable to the Five Unmatches, or let Helian Tiehua gain that negligible increase in strength?”

”Is the Sun Shooting Bow really that powerful?” Ye Qing asked in amazement.

”Absolutely!” Old Wang Ba said, ”Let me tell you, the top ten famed instruments in the world are all frighteningly powerful. As for the mythical top-ranked Xuanyuan Sword, its power is something people can only imagine!”

Speaking of the Xuanyuan Sword, Old Wang Ba’s eyes noticeably shone with admiration, clearly indicating his longing for this famed instrument.

Ye Qing did not know much about these secrets, but hearing so much from Old Wang Ba made him deeply shocked. He had never known that a famed instrument could have such effects. No wonder the news of the Xuanyuan Sword draws so many covetous eyes. The Sun Shooting Bow doesn’t rank first but can make someone a peak master. What about the Xuanyuan Sword? How terrifying is the power of the top-ranked instrument?

”Precisely because the Sun Shooting Bow’s power is so immense, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance have already discussed this beforehand.” Old Wang Ba said, ”Every family left a pair of males and females here to guard it, so to compensate these children, when the Sun Shooting Bow appears, it will be these children who contend for it first. Regardless of who the Sun Shooting Bow acknowledges, that person will become its master, and none of the others can have any grievances.”

Ye Qing slightly frowned and said, ”Doesn’t this method force the children into mutual destruction?”

”Survival of the fittest.” Old Wang Ba said, ”Although the competition is brutal, it’s not mutual destruction, since preserving the bloodline means no one will die. And if none of these children claim the Sun Shooting Bow, then the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance will let others try. Hence, the appearance of the Sun Shooting Bow is crucial for the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, and they’ve been busy with it for a long time. Huangfu Ziyu remains here precisely for this reason.”

Ye Qing suddenly realized, no wonder Huangfu Ziyu hasn’t gone back. With matters here so grave, she certainly can’t leave!

”As for her not contacting you, that’s to be expected.” Old Wang Ba said, ”The Sun Shooting Bow is no trivial matter; anyone staying here cannot contact the outside world. It’s not that Huangfu Ziyu doesn’t want to contact you, she simply can’t.”

”I see.” Ye Qing nodded, finally feeling relieved, ”As long as I know Zi Yu is okay, I won’t worry.”

Old Wang Ba leisurely said, ”It’s okay for now, but it might not be in a couple of days.”

”What do you mean?” Ye Qing immediately frowned, looking at Old Wang Ba in concern.

”Do you think after building that tomb, the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance can completely control the Sun Shooting Bow?” Old Wang Ba shook his head and said, ”If you look twenty years back, maybe so, since back then the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance were extremely powerful, with many people, making controlling the Sun Shooting Bow not a difficult task. But the great chaos twenty years ago annihilated four of the Seven Great Families, leaving only three, and can they still guard that tomb now? This time when the Sun Shooting Bow appears, many are sure to come and seize it. Therefore, I fear they won’t be safe this time!”

”Who dares to seize it?” Ye Qing’s brows immediately furrowed as he said in a low voice, ”With the Great General stationed here, who would dare come over?”

”Helian Tiehua alone can’t intimidate everyone under the sky.” Old Wang Ba said, ”Not to mention, the old man Nalan from the Capital will certainly come over. That old guy operates under the shadows and has long wanted to seize the Sun Shooting Bow, so how could he let this opportunity slip by? There’s also Northern Martial Zen. Recently, you see him being quiet, do you think he’s really being honest? Humph, this guy is just waiting for his chance. And what about the people from Sha Men, Blood-Robed Baldy has been busy for a long time, having seized six of the seven weapons, would he abandon this last one? The Killing Gate Seven Hidden haven’t shown up yet; where do you think they could have gone?”

Upon hearing about this matter from Old Wang Ba, Ye Qing was also suddenly alarmed. The Killing Gate Seven Hidden had long left Shenchuan City; could it be that they really came for the Sun Shooting Bow?

Old Wang Ba sighed and said, ”Therefore, this battle will surely be extremely arduous!”

Ye Qing clenched his fists and was silent for a while before saying, ”In the afternoon, I’ll head to Humeng City!”

”Why, are you going to help your little girlfriend?” Old Wang Ba teased.

Ye Qing didn’t respond. Knowing that Huangfu Ziyu was in Humeng City, he had already decided to go over. Now that it’s about Huangfu Ziyu’s safety, he definitely has to go. No matter how dangerous it is over there, he has to share life and death with Huangfu Ziyu!

”I won’t stop you from going to Humeng City, but you also need to handle the Yelu Family’s matter.” Old Wang Ba said, ”The ancestral tomb of the Yelu Family holds clues to the Xuanyuan Sword. If you can find the Xuanyuan Sword, humph, how many could stand against you then?”

Ye Qing was silent for a while before suddenly looking at Old Wang Ba and saying, ”By the way, do you know someone called Wu Tianchi?”

”Wu Tianchi!?” Old Wang Ba widened his eyes in surprise and exclaimed, ”How...how do you know this name?”

”Beimang Mountain!” Ye Qing paused and said, ”Also, I saw someone using Taoist Incantation to leave some words on Beimang Mountain. Old Wang Ba, do you recognize Taoist Incantation?”

”Taoist Incantation?” Old Wang Ba was even more surprised and said, ”What characters? Do you remember them? Let me take a look.”

”I don’t remember, but I copied them down.” Ye Qing took out a notebook from his body, flipped to the page with the Taoist Incantation, and handed it to Old Wang Ba.

Old Wang Ba stared at the notebook where Ye Qing had traced the Taoist Incantation, examining it for a long time, his expression gradually turning into shock. After a long while, he finally raised his head to look at Ye Qing, his voice trembling as he softly said, ”This...this was left by Mister Xi Yi...”
