Urban Martial Saint

”Hey, that’s not right!” As soon as Yelu Ying finished speaking, Old Wang Ba immediately said, ”What do you mean eight people? Although Eighth Master here isn’t injured, given my age, do you think I can climb down by myself? What’s more, my hand isn’t convenient, you’ll have to carry me down. So all together, that’s nine people!”

”Eighth Master, stop making trouble!” Yelu Ying couldn’t help but say, letting Ye Qing carry nine people by himself, how is that possible?

Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba. He knew how Old Wang Ba’s hand was injured, so when Old Wang Ba brought it up, Ye Qing had no way to argue back.

”It’s settled then, Old Wang Ba, I’ll carry you down first. You keep watch down there, and when the other injured people come down, you can look after them,” Ye Qing said.

Old Wang Ba was overjoyed and said excitedly, ”Ah, that’s more like it. Young people should know to respect the old and care for the young. Eighth Master here, with high morals and skills, is naturally the model of respect and a role model for you all...”

”Are you going or not!” Ye Qing directly interrupted him and said, ”If you’re not going down, then I’m not carrying you!”

”No, no, no, I’m going down, isn’t that fine?” Old Wang Ba quickly ran over and patted Ye Qing on the shoulder, saying, ”Crouch down.”

”Why do I have to crouch down?” Ye Qing protested unhappily.

”Nonsense, you’re so tall, how am I supposed to climb up?” Old Wang Ba said, ”Besides, didn’t ancient sedan chair bearers crouch down first?”

Looking at Old Wang Ba’s shameless face, Ye Qing really wanted to kick the old guy off the cliff. Dammit, talking about sedan chair bearers, do you really think you’re a princess?

Not wanting to waste time, Ye Qing didn’t bicker with Old Wang Ba any further, bent down and picked him up, then wrapped the rope around himself, and walked to the edge of the cliff.

”Ye, please... be careful...” Yelu Ying nervously warned him.

”It’s fine, take care of them,” Ye Qing replied, and jumped off the cliff with Old Wang Ba on his back.

Old Wang Ba didn’t expect Ye Qing to jump so quickly, almost falling off from the jolt, immediately cursing, ”Damn, can you at least give a warning before you jump? Eighth Master’s hairstyle got messed up by the wind!”

”Stop talking nonsense; if we fall, messed up hair won’t matter anyway!” Ye Qing said.

Old Wang Ba: ”You’re wrong, as the saying goes, ’The head can be broken, but the hairstyle cannot be messed up.’ Eighth Master is so concerned about appearances, even in death, I have to die gracefully and stylishly.”

Ye Qing: ”If you disgust me any more, I’ll let go, and we’ll both fall to our deaths.”

Old Wang Ba was completely unfazed: ”That won’t do. Even if Eighth Master is to die with someone, it has to be with a peerless beauty. Dying with a man like you, what kind of situation is that? You might not be embarrassed, but Eighth Master here is!”

Ye Qing was completely speechless, facing Old Wang Ba’s thick skin, he really had no way. He could only speed up, sending Old Wang Ba to the bottom of the cliff.

After catching his breath for a bit, Ye Qing said to Old Wang Ba, ”You keep watch here, don’t run around, I’ll go up and bring the others down.”

Old Wang Ba pursed his lips and said, ”Go on, Eighth Master here isn’t a child, I don’t need your repeated warnings!”

Ye Qing didn’t linger here anymore. Getting down the mountain was just the beginning, the crucial part was what came next. They had to cross the Beimeng River before daybreak, so he had to quickly get everyone off the mountain now.

With the experience of carrying Old Wang Ba down the first time, it got a bit easier for Ye Qing to carry people down afterward. However, going up and down the mountain more than a dozen times, even with an iron body, he could hardly take it. His arms, from constant exertion, became numb, his clothes soaked with sweat. Yet, Ye Qing gritted his teeth and persisted, carrying all the injured down.

After bringing these people down, the rest could come down more easily since they weren’t injured and could climb down on their own.

Ye Qing finally let out a sigh of relief, sat down nearby, ate something, and quietly regained his strength. On top of the cliff, Yelu Ying directed everyone one by one to come down, and in over forty minutes, everyone came down from the cliff.

Yelu Ying was the last to come down, and once she did, she immediately walked to Ye Qing’s side. Seeing Ye Qing soaked through with sweat, she became even more grateful and softly said, ”Thank you, Ye.”

”It’s nothing.” Ye Qing swallowed the last bite of bread, looked over at the others, and said, ”Is everyone down?”

”Yes, everyone is down.” Yelu Ying nodded and said, ”Ye, you take another rest, and we’ll move on later.”

”We can’t afford to waste time.” Ye Qing stood up, walked straight to the crowd, and said, ”Everybody, eat something to replenish your strength during this time. We are still more than twenty li from the riverbank, and time is tight. We can’t afford delays.”

After all this trouble, most were both hungry and tired. Hearing Ye Qing’s words, they all took out food to replenish their strength. Meanwhile, Ye Qing did not linger; he went directly to the nearby rope, grabbed it, and climbed up.

Seeing Ye Qing like this, Yelu Ying couldn’t help but be greatly surprised and asked, ”Ye, what are you doing?”

”We’ll need this Ice Silkworm Thread later, so we have to take it down,” Ye Qing replied.

”How are you going to take it down?” Wu Changming looked at the Ice Silkworm Thread above and said, ”The place where the Ice Silkworm Thread connects to the rope is eight or nine meters from the ground. If you take it down, how will you get down?”

”It’s fine, I have a way.” Ye Qing responded while forcefully climbing up. After a short rest, his physical strength recovered quite a bit. In less than a minute, he climbed up to the connection point between the rope and the Ice Silkworm Thread.

Everyone looked up at Ye Qing. Although Ye Qing said he had a way, their hearts were filled with concern. At such a height, what method could Ye Qing use to get down?

Ye Qing climbed to the spot, grabbed the rope with one hand, and slowly untied the Golden Silkworm Silk with the other. The Golden Silkworm Silk fell directly, and Ye Qing hung directly below the rope. From below, it looked like Ye Qing was suspended in mid-air. Such a height was quite nerve-wracking to behold.

”Ye, be careful!” Yelu Ying nervously reminded.

Ye Qing did not speak. He looked down. He had only calculated the distance before but hadn’t really looked down. Now at this position, looking down gave him a dizzy feeling. Eight or nine meters, seen from above, really is not just ordinary high. Who can guarantee not to get hurt if they jumped?

However, Ye Qing had no choice now. He took a deep breath, suddenly let go, and jumped directly down.

Everyone was watching, still wondering what method Ye Qing would use to descend. No one expected Ye Qing to jump down directly.

”Ah!” Seeing Ye Qing jump down, several girls screamed in fright. Even though others did not scream, everyone’s hearts were hanging. After all, this height is no joke.

Eight or nine meters high, it seems tall, but falling takes only a split second. Before the girls’ screams even died down, Ye Qing had already landed.

Even though Ye Qing was prepared and rolled immediately upon landing, the powerful impact still shook his entire body, making his throat sweet, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

Yelu Ying had already run over, seeing Ye Qing spit blood, she was frightened, pale, and hurriedly ran over to support Ye Qing, urgently asking, ”Ye, are you okay? You... are you injured?”

”I’m... I’m fine...” Ye Qing forced himself to stand, while using his Inner Strength to suppress the churning blood in his body, taking deep breaths to adjust his condition.

Luckily, Ye Qing’s body had accumulated much of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill’s medicinal power, which rapidly repaired his body when hurt. So, despite the internal injury from the jump, his body gradually recovered shortly after.

Yelu Ying watched nervously beside him, seeing Ye Qing really was okay, she relaxed a bit. She took out a towel, gently wiped Ye Qing’s mouth’s blood stains, and whispered, ”Ye, it was really too dangerous just now. Please don’t do that again.”

Faced with Yelu Ying’s gentle concern, Ye Qing couldn’t help but feel awkward. He quickly stood, waved his hand, and said, ”It’s fine, I’m fine. Well, it’s getting late; we should set off.”

Over there, everyone had also eaten dry rations, resting a bit and regained some strength. According to Ye Qing’s arrangement, the uninjured either carried or supported the injured, heading directly toward the riverbank.

Twenty li was not considered far. But the key was, this route was not a flat main road but entirely rugged mountain roads and the like. Half of the people were injured among the group, slowing them down considerably. They only reached Beimeng River by three-thirty in the morning.

When they were one li from Beimeng River, Ye Qing heard the Beimeng River’s tumultuous waves roaring from afar, with sprays of water blowing toward them. Although they hadn’t seen the river yet, listening to the sound was enough to guess the river’s waves were enormous.

As Wu Changming had mentioned before, Beimeng River’s water was dangerously rapid. Though the waves weren’t huge, the river flowed extremely fast, with whirlpools in the middle; truly the kind of river where even goose feathers couldn’t float.

Most of the group had never seen the exact situation of Beimeng River, so they hadn’t cared much before. Now arriving here and truly seeing Beimeng River’s condition, everyone despaired: how could they possibly cross such a river?
