Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing and the others indeed first found a hotel to stay in at the nearest town. Though the town is small, it is the first one after crossing the Beimeng River, so there are quite a number of people here. Most passing merchants choose to rest here initially.

Upon arriving at the hotel room, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Especially those who were injured, they had suffered significantly before, and after a day of continuous ordeal, they were soaked in water earlier. On such a cold night, reaching this small town they were already exhausted, and quite a few were showing symptoms of fever.

At four or five in the morning, finding a doctor was certainly unrealistic. Looking at how distressed and injured these people were, Yelu Ying was anxiously pacing back and forth.

The womenfolk had suffered significant injuries previously at Wan Yan Manor, and after such an ordeal, they all seemed very weary. Especially the two children, not yet adults, started to speak nonsense due to fever, which was painful to witness.

Ye Qing settled everyone down and went directly to the room. Seeing the situation of those on the bed, Ye Qing wasn’t particularly anxious. He walked straight to the bedside, picked up one of the children, and tapped on several acupoints on her body, transmitting True Qi.

On the side, Wu Changming and Yelu Ying watched Ye Qing’s actions in surprise, not knowing what Ye was doing. However, they were confident that Ye Qing wouldn’t harm these people.

Ye Qing held his hands against the little girl’s body for almost two minutes before slowly releasing her, placing her back on the bed, and said: ”It’s okay, she’ll be fine after a sleep.”

”Ah?” Wu Changming and Yelu Ying were both stunned. Was it really resolved with just a few touches? Even finding a doctor for injections and medication wouldn’t be this fast, would it?

Yelu Ying walked over, reached to feel the girl’s forehead, and was duly astonished, turning to say urgently, ”Uncle Wu, the fever has really gone down!”

”Really?” Wu Changming, also greatly surprised, walked over with support, reaching to feel the girl’s forehead. He was equally thrilled, saying, ”Is it really gone? What’s going on? Mr. Ye, do you know medicine?”

”Know a bit.” Ye Qing responded while lowering the fever of the other girl beside him. This technique is indeed described in the Acupoint Seeking Technique, and it works wonders. Of course, it requires understanding acupoints and having the skill of Internal Energy Release, otherwise, this method simply can’t be used.

After lowering the fever of the two girls, Ye Qing was somewhat tired, placing them to sleep and then greeting Yelu Ying and Wu Changming: ”Mr. Wu, Miss Yelu, you should rest too. We’ll leave here by noon, we’re pressed for time, can’t afford any delay.”

”Alright!” Wu Changming nodded, stealthily glancing at Yelu Ying.

Yelu Ying blushed slightly, lowering her head and walking to Ye Qing’s side, saying: ”Ye, I... I’ll see you off.”

”No need, I can go back on my own, you guys rest first.” Ye Qing quickly replied, truthfully not wanting to be alone with Yelu Ying, as the situation felt too awkward.

”It’s okay, I’ll see you off.” Yelu Ying walked to Ye Qing’s side, ignoring his refusal and insisting on seeing him back.

Ye Qing couldn’t keep refusing, so he let her follow. At the door of his room, he turned to Yelu Ying and said, ”Miss Yelu, thank you. You should rest too, after being busy all day, you must be tired.”

Yelu Ying didn’t respond, she reached out to open Ye Qing’s door, walked in first, and then turned to look at Ye Qing, saying: ”Ye, can we talk?”

Ye Qing looked at Yelu Ying, hesitated for a moment, but still nodded and slowly walked into the room.

Yelu Ying followed behind, casually closing the door. At this hour, the outside was still dark. The shut door meant the hallway light couldn’t illuminate inside, plunging the room into darkness, heightening Ye Qing’s awkwardness.

He hurriedly went to the door, intending to turn on the light. Surprisingly, as he approached, Yelu Ying also stepped forward, almost directly running into Ye Qing.

”Oops!” Ye Qing exclaimed softly, quickly stepping back to apologize: ”Sorry, I...”

”It’s fine.” Yelu Ying instead took another step forward, opening her arms and embracing Ye Qing.

Feeling the warm and soft body in his embrace, exuding waves of enchanting fragrance, no man could remain unaffected. Ye Qing was no exception; his body reacted quickly, but he felt even more awkward. He hurriedly wanted to step back to avoid Yelu Ying. However, Yelu Ying held him tightly, making it impossible for him to retreat unless he forcibly broke free. But for a girl, such an action might be too rough.

”You... you this...” Ye Qing was sweating profusely due to anxiety; the situation was already making him very awkward. Now, with the two of them in the dark room, Yelu Ying holding him like this, his feelings were understandable.

”Ye, Uncle Wu already told me everything.” Yelu Ying slowly nestled her head against Ye Qing’s chest and whispered, ”I am willing to be your woman.”

I am willing to be your woman!

Such a simple sentence could communicate its meaning even to a fool, let alone Ye Qing. Especially these words, when spoken by such a beautiful woman, were irresistible.

However, these words struck Ye Qing like a bolt of lightning, his greatest fear realized.

The matters involving Huangfu Ziyu and Shen Qingyi had already filled Ye Qing with guilt. He truly dared not become entangled in such affairs again. This was also why, when Wu Changming mentioned this matter to him, he directly refused. Yet, now Yelu Ying had come to him on her own, making him feel even more awkward and embarrassed. The warm jade fragrance in his embrace might be the happiest thing for others, but for Ye Qing, it was like holding a ticking bomb.

Ye Qing stretched out his arms, trying to push Yelu Ying away, but her whole body was pressed against him. He was really afraid of accidentally touching somewhere he shouldn’t. So, after hesitating for a long time, he awkwardly said, ”Miss Yelu, I think you... you misunderstood, I didn’t...”

”Ye, I know what you mean.” Yelu Ying softly said, ”Do you think just because I came to you, I’m a very casual woman? Ye, rest assured, you’re the first man in my life and will be the only one.”

”That’s not what I meant, you misunderstood...” Ye Qing hurriedly said, ”It’s just that I... I think these kinds of things shouldn’t be rushed. Also, the Yelu Family legacy, I... I really can’t take it on, I’m truly sorry, Miss Yelu, you... you can find someone better than me.”

Yelu Ying was slightly stunned; she clearly hadn’t expected such a reaction from Ye Qing. After a moment of silence, she whispered, ”Ye, is it that you don’t like me? If you don’t like me, there are still other ladies in the Yelu Family, you can choose anyone. As long as you are the son-in-law of the Yelu Family, you are the closest person to our family and have the qualification to inherit the Yelu Family legacy.”

”That’s not what I meant; it’s not that I don’t like you. Miss Yelu, you are excellent, you can definitely find someone better than me.” Ye Qing said awkwardly, ”It’s just that I... I already have someone I love. Moreover, I will only be with her, do you... do you understand?”

Yelu Ying sighed slightly and whispered, ”You are talking about Miss Huangfu Ziyu, right?”

”Yes, it’s her!” Ye Qing said, ”She and I are promised to each other for life, I... I can’t marry anyone else.”

Yelu Ying remained silent for a while, then whispered, ”Ye, I don’t want you to marry me, nor do I want a status. As long as you can inherit the Yelu Family’s legacy and protect the remaining people of the Yelu Family, I... I can do without anything... even without a status for life, that’s fine!”

Yelu Ying’s words were clearly telling Ye Qing, I can be just your lover without any status. Such a beautiful woman, speaking such words, could tempt many men, but Ye Qing was not such a person.

In Ye Qing’s heart, once he committed to someone, he would be with that person for life, with absolutely no room for anyone else in between. Even though the one he loved the most in his heart was Shen Qingyi, he still resolutely left Shen Qingyi to seek out Huangfu Ziyu; that was his decision. He treated Shen Qingyi that way, how could he possibly change for Yelu Ying?

”Miss Yelu, maybe... maybe there’s a better person who can inherit the Yelu Family’s legacy and protect the rest of the Yelu Family.” Ye Qing responded softly, ”I am definitely not the most suitable person!”

”Ye, after getting to this point, I can no longer trust any outsider.” The Yelu Family spoke softly, ”And you are an exception, you are the only outsider I will ever trust in my life. No one else is worthy!”

Yelu Ying’s words put Ye Qing in even more of an awkward position; he didn’t expect this woman to be so persistent. Once she made a decision, she wouldn’t change it easily.

Actually, Yelu Ying was also forced into this. With the family falling to this point, she, as the current sole Family Head, had to protect the remaining family members. And she herself was powerless alone, needing an outsider to help. All the way to this point, she had already decided in her heart that it would be Ye Qing. In truth, she had some love for Ye Qing, and that love began the moment Ye Qing saved her from the Beimeng River.

Regardless of the situation, out of love and for family, she must choose Ye Qing, must walk together with Ye Qing. Thus, she stepped into Ye Qing’s room, wanting to settle everything once and for all.
