Urban Martial Saint

Over here, Ye Qing and Old Wang Ba still hadn’t come to a conclusion when Gui Jian Chou, Du Jiang, rushed over. He had already handled all matters outside and now conveniently invited Ye Qing and the others down for a lunch.

During the meal, Du Jiang smiled and said, ”I estimate that after lunch, the Knife-bearing Guests of the Great General will arrive. By then, they will escort you out. Once you reach the depths of the Meng District, you’ll be safe; Prince Wan Yan definitely wouldn’t dare venture deep into the Meng District!”

Upon hearing this, everyone from the Yelu Family was naturally overjoyed. It seemed that this time, they had finally escaped the crisis.

Ye Qing also nodded. Being able to first ensure the Yelu Family’s safety was indeed a good thing. However, after they were safe, they were probably going to bring up the issue of the Yelu Family’s heritage, which would be a troublesome matter.

Just as Du Jiang said, not long after the meal, that batch of Knife-bearing Guests from Helian Tiehua reached the city and joined up with Du Jiang.

Ye Qing saw the group of Knife-bearing Guests, totaling only a little over thirty people. Yet each one appeared extremely seasoned, with a sharp curved blade hanging at their waist. They didn’t dress elaborate, but their eyes were fiercely sharp. These Knife-bearing Guests, personally trained by Great General Helian Tiehua, were almost unstoppable in the grasslands of the Meng District. It was this group of over thirty Knife-bearing Guests that crossed the Beimeng River, broke into the heavily guarded area by Prince Wan Yan, and kidnapped Wan Yan Ming, forcing Prince Wan Yan to retreat, showing just how formidable they were.

Du Jiang introduced to Ye Qing that the leader of the Knife-bearing Guests was named Hu Leng, an abandoned child raised by the Great General in earlier years. Now, he was the Direct Disciple of the Great General, and a junior brother to Li Qianqiu.

”Hello, Brother Ye!” Hu Leng shook hands with Ye Qing and said, ”Before coming here, I heard Li mention you. Senior Brother instructed me to help you with all my might. So, Brother Ye, if there is anything you need, just let me know!”

”Brother Hu, you’re too kind.” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”It’s me who should trouble Brother Hu this time.”

”These are all small matters.” Hu Leng looked at the people of the Yelu Family following Ye Qing and said, ”Brother Ye, if it’s convenient, let’s set off now. If there’s no unexpected situations on the road, we should reach Fangyuan City by tomorrow morning!”

”Fangyuan City?” Ye Qing asked in surprise, ”Why are we going to Fangyuan City?”

”Fangyuan City is one of the central areas of the Meng District, and there’s an airport there, providing access to all parts of the country.” Hu Leng said, ”Brother Ye, if you want to avoid Prince Wan Yan, going to Fangyuan City is the closest option. Also, if you want to go elsewhere, leaving from Fangyuan City is the most convenient route.”

Ye Qing said, ”Why not go to Humeng City?”

”This...” Hu Leng hesitated slightly before saying, ”Brother Ye, there are some sudden incidents around Humeng City recently. My master has already strictly ordered a lockdown of the entire city, and no one is allowed to enter or exit. Therefore, I’m afraid we can’t invite you to Humeng City this time. However, if Brother Ye has no other important matters, you might as well stay in Fangyuan City for a while. Once the issues in Humeng City are resolved, you can visit there!”

Ye Qing suddenly realized, although Hu Leng didn’t say it directly, Ye Qing already understood why they weren’t taken to Humeng City. According to Old Wang Ba, the Sun Shooting Bow would appear soon, and its concealed location was in Humeng City. With the Sun Shooting Bow about to emerge, it would undoubtedly attract many top experts to vie for it. The Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance would naturally prevent unexpected incidents from occurring, so they wouldn’t allow Ye Qing and the others to enter Humeng City either.

Although Ye Qing had decent relations with some members of the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance, he was ultimately not part of them. The matter of the Sun Shooting Bow was significant, and it was normal for the Seven Steering Committees to be wary of him.

”That’s fine too.” Ye Qing nodded, not forcing the issue of going to Humeng City, and agreed to first head to Fangyuan City.

Seeing Ye Qing wasn’t insistent, Hu Leng also breathed a slight sigh of relief. He was indeed worried that if Ye Qing insisted on going to Humeng City, it would have been difficult to stop him.

Li Changshan’s plane was in the afternoon, so Ye Qing and his company bid farewell to Li Changshan and left first with Hu Leng and his people.

The roads in the Meng District were not quite complete yet, far less convenient than those in Shenchuan City. Many places were still just provincial roads, not even national roads, so the driving speed was not fast. However, along the journey, everyone got to witness the grassland scenery of the Meng District. The vast, unending grasslands were truly breathtaking.

The girls from the Yelu Family, who were initially very downcast due to the events of the past few days, now felt significantly better after circling around the grand grasslands a few times, with most of their attention captured by the vast grasslands outside.

Ye Qing also witnessed such a large grassland for the first time, but as he watched the scenery outside the car window, his mood never fully engaged with it. Because he was still pondering over the matter concerning Huangfu Ziyu.

The Sun Shooting Bow is about to appear, and the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance will face a great challenge. So many powerful martial artists will come to compete for the Sun Shooting Bow, and by then, things will definitely become chaotic over there in Humeng City. Moreover, Huangfu Ziyu is in the midst of it, and she has to protect her younger siblings, which makes it even more troublesome. Ye Qing is very worried about her situation, so this time, no matter what, he must go to Humeng City to find Huangfu Ziyu!

However, Hu Leng personally accompanied them this time. He said it was to protect them, but in fact, it was also to guard against them. If Ye Qing and his group stayed in Fangyuan City and didn’t leave, then Hu Leng would definitely station people there and wouldn’t let Ye Qing and his team go to Humeng City. So how Ye Qing should get to Humeng City is quite a troublesome issue. Moreover, how to settle the Yelu Family members at that time is also a problematic matter, as Ye Qing can’t take them to Humeng City to find Huangfu Ziyu.

After contemplating the whole way, Ye Qing still hadn’t come up with a better method. However, on the way, they did not encounter any obstacles and arrived at Fangyuan City early the next morning.

Over in Fangyuan City, people from the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance had already arranged accommodation for them. Therefore, Ye Qing and his group went directly to the hotel to settle down.

The girls from the Yelu Family, after several days of turbulence, were all exhausted and lay down to rest as soon as they returned to the hotel. Yelu Ying, however, did not go to rest; instead, as soon as she returned to the hotel, she went directly to find Ye Qing.

With the lesson from last time, Ye Qing specifically chose to share a room with Old Wang Ba upon returning to the hotel. This way, even if Yelu Ying came to find him, awkward situations could be avoided.

As Yelu Ying came over again, Ye Qing didn’t feel as embarrassed as last time and directly invited her to sit down in the room.

Yelu Ying looked around and curiously asked, ”Where is the Eighth Master?”

Ye Qing replied, ”Oh, he’s in the bathroom. His hairstyle was a bit messy just now, so he went to fix it.”

”Oh.” Yelu Ying nodded and said, ”Then let’s wait for him for a while. I have something I’d like to consult with the Eighth Master and you, Big Brother Ye.”

”What’s the matter?” Old Wang Ba’s voice came from the bathroom: ”You can talk, I can hear you from here.”

”Oh.” Yelu Ying glanced at the bathroom, her face slightly flushed, and whispered, ”Eighth Master, Big Brother Ye, the two Tomb Guarding Elders asked me to come and inquire about the matter of family inheritance, what are your plans?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing immediately felt troubled, as this was the issue that annoyed him the most, and now someone had come to ask him about it again. How was he supposed to answer this?

”You’re asking the wrong person; just ask Young Ye!” Old Wang Ba straightforwardly shifted the question to Ye Qing.

”I…” Ye Qing opened his mouth, remained silent for a long time, and then softly said, ”Miss Yelu, the inheritance of the Yelu Family should naturally be managed by someone from the Yelu Family. Since you are the current family head of the Yelu Family, you should be able to make the decision on these matters. Given my lack of ability, how could I possibly inherit the thousand-year legacy of the Yelu Family? Alternatively, you might persuade the two elders to find someone far superior to me to promote the Yelu Family.”

Yelu Ying sighed softly and said in a low voice, ”Big Brother Ye, the Yelu Family has developed to this point where there’s no longer any talk of promoting us. We don’t have any other demands; as long as the remaining family members can live peacefully, that’s enough. As for the Yelu Family’s inheritance, it’s a legacy that embodies the countless efforts of our ancestors, and it cannot end with our generation. Therefore, the inheritance of the Yelu Family must continue. Moreover, Big Brother Ye, you are the person recognized by the Tomb Guarding Elders and have heard the secrets of the Yelu Family. The Yelu Family’s inheritance can only be continued by you!”

Ye Qing felt quite helpless. Inheriting the Yelu Family’s legacy was no big deal, but to do so, one must marry a girl from the Yelu Family, which was problematic, as Ye Qing could never do such a thing.

Seeing Ye Qing remain silent, Yelu Ying’s eyes reddened a bit. She was a girl who had already humbled herself to come and ask Ye Qing about such a thing, which was quite embarrassing. And now that Ye Qing was silent, it already said it all, bringing a sense of sorrow to her heart.

”Big Brother Ye, if you really cannot accept us, then... then it’s okay…” Yelu Ying stood up, saying quietly, ”No matter what, thank you for saving us. We will handle the rest of the matters by ourselves and won’t inconvenience you!”

”Miss Yelu, I…” Ye Qing stood up, wanting to stop Yelu Ying, but didn’t know what to say. He really didn’t know how to solve this issue.

As Yelu Ying was about to leave the room, the bathroom door suddenly opened, and Old Wang Ba came out, flaunting his freshly combed hairstyle, and said, ”Young lady, don’t be in such a hurry to leave; can you let the Eighth Master say a word?”
