The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The little girl was not speaking very clearly, saying words one or two at a time, but she just loved to talk.

Zhou Qiao was beside her, holding her forehead, wanting to leave but finding it impossible.

Shu Yu planned to visit the workshop, and Little Zaozao clung to her leg to go along.

She could only carry her to Lu’s Workshop. She hadn’t been there for over half a year, and the workshop had expanded a bit; there were more staff now too.

Some people hadn’t seen her before, seeing a girl carrying a child walking around the workshop, pointing at her.

When Luo Chun and some stewards arrived, they suddenly recognized Shu Yu’s identity. They each shyly lowered their heads, not daring to make a sound.

Shu Yu called a few stewards to the meeting room for a meeting, temporarily leaving Little Zaozao with Ying Xi.

She mainly asked about the production situation over the past half year and plans for the future. The stewards had become proficient, and during the time Shu Yu and Daniu were away, they managed the workshop well.

Shu Yu collected the account books; there were quite a few from the past half year, and she had to take them back to look through slowly.

Then she strolled around the workshop, and everything seemed orderly.

At noon, she took Little Zaozao back to the manor for lunch.

In the afternoon, she went to the black market hill. Since last October, after Meng Yunzheng and Old Master Miao signed the contract and officially transferred ownership, the manor’s renovation had accelerated.

The renovation work was managed by Lu Erbai, who went to Chenggu County midway, causing the project to pause for two to three months.

Looking at it now, it’s almost done; just some details need Shu Yu or Meng Yunzheng to come back and refine.

After returning home in the evening, Shu Yu wrote down the details for improvement, planning to discuss them with her father later.

But she was really busy; the next day she had to go to the prefecture to check the store.

Shu Yu was very familiar with the store on Fengtao Lane, but the other store opened in the east of the city was entirely managed by Wei Ronghua, and she hadn’t seen it yet.

Compared to Lu’s on Fengtao Lane, Lu’s in the east of the city was slightly smaller in scale, and Wei Ronghua similarly hired one shopkeeper and two staff.

However, this shopkeeper wasn’t as inventive as Wei Ronghua, so basically whatever decisions or activities the store had, both stores shared one plan was enough.

Luckily, Manager Zhang was very competent; he listened to what others said and had strong execution.

The business of both stores was good, with profits steadily rising.

Bringing along the account books from both stores, Shu Yu got on the carriage to return home.

However, when the carriage reached Tan Family’s door, she suddenly called out to stop, ”Ying Xi, pull the carriage off to the side.”

”Yes.”

The carriage stopped outside the Tan Family’s gate, and Shu Yu had barely stood before the gatekeeper recognized her.

Although the fact that she became the county magistrate wasn’t widely known in the prefecture, those who needed to know were aware. Moreover, the Tan Family had a good relationship with Shu Yu and were happy for her.

Thus, as soon as she arrived, the gatekeeper hurriedly had someone run inside to inform them.

It happened that Old Master Tan, Mrs. Tan, and the Eldest Young Master Tan Cheng were at home, and by the time Shu Yu turned the shadow-wall inside, the three had already come out to greet her.

”County Magistrate’s visit, we failed to welcome you from afar, please forgive us.”

Shu Yu laughed and said, ”Since when has Old Master Tan been so polite?”

”Haha, no matter what, congratulations to the county magistrate.” Old Master Tan stepped aside, Mrs. Tan approached, pulling Shu Yu to walk inside.
