The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Sure enough, Meng Pei rubbed his face and said, ”I went to ask, and the Deputy Head Escort’s family is indeed no longer here. The nearby neighbors said that two years ago, he suddenly fell seriously ill, right after San Lai Zi failed to seize control of the escort agency. This illness came on suddenly, and within just two days, he was gone.”

Shu Yu hesitated, this...indeed came very suddenly, too suddenly to be normal. And what kind of serious illness can’t even last two days?

Meng Pei clenched his hand, ”The neighbors said that after he passed away, the Lin family carried the body back to their hometown. Mrs. Lin said that Huajiang Prefecture clashes with them, their son died over ten years ago, and now her husband passed away suddenly too, so they don’t plan on staying in this sad place. In three days, they packed up all their belongings and went back.”

When Lin Yong was very young, his grandfather led the family from the Northern to Huajiang Prefecture to escape disaster.

It’s been more than forty years now, but the Lin family hasn’t been blessed with many children. Lin Yong originally had two younger siblings, but they died on the road while fleeing for refuge, so in Lin Yong’s generation, he was the only one left.

After Lin Yong got married, he had two sons. The younger son was just a year older than Ying Dong, and he too died of illness.

After that, only Lin Yong, his wife, and his elder son remained. Meng Pei found out that his elder son got married and had a child a few years ago, and the child is already seven or eight years old.

If Lin Yong passed away, then the Lin family now only consists of Mrs. Lin, and his elder son with a family of three.

Mrs. Lin is elderly, the youngest grandson is very young, and it can be said that the family consists of old and young, but under such circumstances, they undertook the funeral and returned to their hometown from far away? And in three days after Lin Yong’s death, they made the decision, packed up, and began their departure?

He also went to the home of the eldest daughter-in-law to inquire, the other side seemed very dissatisfied with what the Lin family did, and tried to stop them since with this departure, it would be difficult for them to see their daughter and grandson again.

But the Lin family was determined to leave, they almost severed ties with them.

After the incident and dissolution at Quansheng Escort Agency, Lin Yong stayed in Tianning County for two years and later went to the prefecture.

But he didn’t continue as an escort. Instead, he became a martial arts instructor for a prominent family, teaching the family’s children martial arts. He looked thin and gentle, but his skills were decent, and he was literate and mild-mannered, earning the family’s favor.

It’s said that after his death, the family felt sorry and gave Mrs. Lin a sum of money.

Therefore, besides the house they lived in, the Lin family didn’t have other properties, making it easy to let go, no wonder they packed up so quickly.

The facts are clear, Meng Pei couldn’t help but think badly of Lin Yong.

Shu Yu was thoughtful, then looked at Ying Dong, ”What did you find out at the dock?”

”There were too many people at the dock, and his attire was very ordinary, indeed not leaving a particularly deep impression. Later, a kid said he once bumped into him, and the person seemed very anxious at the time. I inquired about the time, and found that it was right when he met my gaze and immediately walked away, I think maybe he feared I would recognize him and chase him, so when he left, he accidentally bumped into someone. The kid said he saw him board a passenger ship.”

”Passenger ship?”

Ying Dong nodded, ”That passenger ship was very large, with a mix of people from various backgrounds aboard. However, after departure, the ship headed south.”
