The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

At this moment, both carriages are parked by a riverbank for a rest; they plan to spend the night here.

When Ying Dong walked over, Shu Yu pointed to a large stone beside him, ”Have a seat, is there something you want to talk about with me?”

Ying Dong sat down and glanced at Ying Xi, who glared at him, then snorted and very decisively sat next to him, intently waiting for him to confess.

Ying Dong sighed, ignored her, and turned to Shu Yu, saying, ”Miss, I would like to ask you to arrange a marriage for me.”

”Who have you taken a liking to?” Ying Xi eagerly asked, ”Do I know the person, do they like you? Are those things in your few bundles meant for them?”

Ying Dong, ”...”

Shu Yu coughed lightly, nodded slowly, and said with a suppressed smile, ”Hmm, the questions Ying Xi asked are exactly what I want to ask.”

Ying Dong rubbed his forehead and said helplessly, ”You both know her, it’s... Hua Xian.”

”Who?” Even Shu Yu was taken aback, ”Hua Xian?”

Ying Xi widened her eyes, ”When did you two start having feelings for each other? No, does Hua Xian know about this? I hope it’s not just my brother being one-sided here.”

Speaking of marriages, even Ying Dong felt a bit embarrassed and said in a low voice, ”I have already confessed to Hua Xian, she, hmm, she said to wait until I return to ask the old lady.”

Wait until he returns?

Shu Yu raised an eyebrow, ”So you confessed during this journey?”

”Sort of.”

Originally, Ying Dong and Hua Xian didn’t have many interactions. One was the butler of the Lu family, spending most of his time in the front courtyard, handling numerous tasks and staying very busy every day.

The other was looking after the old lady in the back courtyard, and wouldn’t easily come to the front courtyard without a reason.

Of course, occasionally when the old lady had something, it was Hua Xian who went to find Ying Dong to discuss it.

So, they had interactions, but that was about it.

Ying Dong’s impression of Hua Xian was that she was quiet, not very talkative, diligent in her work, efficient, very patient, and had a pleasant smile.

While Hua Xian’s impression of Ying Dong was more of admiration.

Back when the Lu family had a joyous housewarming, County Magistrate Zhang came to cause trouble, and Ying Dong was the first to rush out to stop them. At the time, he beat the people under County Magistrate Zhang’s command with such swift skill and decisive actions that left a deep impression.

However, there wasn’t much contact between them, and at most, if you seriously considered it, there was just a bit of a good impression.

Until the end of last year, when the old lady wanted to go to Changjin Prefecture to visit Granny Fang, not only Ying Dong, but also Hua Xian accompanied her.

Originally, Hua Xian didn’t need to go; it was Lu Erbai who decided that since the youngsters accompanying them were all men, having Hua Xian with the old lady would be more convenient.

Traveling together for over a month, Hua Xian and Ying Dong naturally had more contact with each other.

Gradually, the relationship between the two became subtle.

Later, when the old lady finished her affairs in Changjin Prefecture, Hua Xian was to return with them, while Ying Dong stayed to accompany Shurui and the others on their travels.

On the day before Hua Xian’s departure, Ying Dong couldn’t hold back and confessed his feelings to her.

Hua Xian thought about it for a day and before setting out the next day, told Ying Dong to wait for him to return so they could together seek the old lady’s approval.

Hua Xian is someone close to the old lady, so her marriage naturally needs the old lady’s decision.

Furthermore, the old lady is the head of the Lu family, and as long as she agrees, the matter is practically settled.
