The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Huohuo was being held facing outward in the maid’s arms, and out of nowhere he let out a stream of pee that drenched Zhang Jin’s head and face, while he himself just giggled and laughed.

Shuyou couldn’t hold back her laughter at the time, and as Zhang Jin burst into loud wails, she hurriedly took her people and ran.

Talking about it now, she still felt especially proud.

Shu Yu was laughing nonstop as she listened at the side, but seeing how Shuyou could now speak of the Zhang family members with such an easy, relaxed attitude, it was obvious she no longer cared at all.

Outside, Huohuo’s laughter and Dabao’s strange cries were tangled together, noisy yet warm.

Before long, Song Le and Quanquan also joined in.

Little Song Le was now four and a half. He had been in Jiangyuan County for two years, and at the beginning of this year, he started school with Quanquan to begin his enlightenment studies.

Class had just ended; when he heard Shu Yu was back, he rushed in at once.

”Aunt.” Not having seen her for over half a year, his eyes were full of light.

But when he saw there were only Shu Yu and Shuyou in the room, a bit of disappointment appeared in his expression.

Shu Yu knew what he was thinking. She pulled the child over and asked with a smile, ”Missing your cousin and Grandpa Meng?”

”Mm, they didn’t come back?”

Shu Yu shook her head. ”Your Grandpa Meng went north on business, and your cousin has to prepare for the August Imperial Examination, so he has to stay in Changjin Prefecture to study. But after the Imperial Examination, he should come back. If he can’t, then I’ll take you to the capital to look for him.”

”Go to the capital? You’ll take me?”

Shu Yu nodded. ”Yes, I’ll take you to see your grandaunt. Do you still remember her?”

When she first took Xiao Song away, Shu Yu had told Aunt Hong that in at most four years they would bring Xiao Song back to see her; next year would be the third year.

Xiao Song blinked. ”Grandaunt? The one, the one who treated me well.”

He’d only been two and a half when he left. At that time he still couldn’t speak, was in a rather closed-off state, and his perception of the outside world wasn’t very strong, so there weren’t many people he remembered.

But he had an especially deep impression of Aunt Hong, who had always taken care of him and was very important to him.

Shu Yu smiled and said, ”Yes, the grandaunt who treated you very well. Next year we’ll go to the capital to visit her. When she sees that you’re doing well, can already read and write, have made friends, and that your little mouth chatters away, she’ll definitely be very happy.”

Little Song Le was a bit embarrassed and nodded hard. ”Mm, I, I’ll study hard, and then I’ll recite the Three Character Classic for Grandaunt to hear.”

”All right, but you also need to balance work and rest. Ah Rui and the others are all playing outside, you go too. They ran into quite a few things on this trip and are telling stories about it now.”

”Mm.” Little Song Le hopped out the door.

Later in the evening, the Lu family came back one after another, and having heard the news, Third Lu and Madam Liang also hurried over. Third Lu was fine, but Madam Liang missed her son terribly.

As soon as she saw Dabao, her tears poured down, and she hugged him, calling him her darling treasure over and over, nearly suffocating Dabao.

Off to the side, Shurui and Erniu were laughing like mad, and Dabao chased after them to hit them. With the three boys back, the whole Lu family was lively beyond words, filled everywhere with laughter and joy.

By the time they went to rest that night, Shu Yu’s cheeks were sore.

Early the next morning, Shu Yu took gifts and went to the Fan family to visit Ding Yuehua.

According to the old lady, Ding Yuehua had given birth to a daughter in mid-March. Because the fetus had been unstable early on, though it later stabilized with careful treatment, the delivery was still very dangerous.
