The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu thought about it. As Jiang Fengshou said, because he had few family ties since childhood, he was very attentive to his wife and children who were now wholeheartedly caring for him.

Even for their sake, he would speak and act cautiously.

”Alright, since you’ve already made a promise, then... let her try for a few days first.”

Jiang Fengshou’s eyes brightened, ”Thank you, boss.”

Shu Yu thought the matter was over and was about to leave, but Jiang Fengshou stepped aside, blocked her way, and started laughing awkwardly.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but roll her eyes, ”What else? Say it all at once.”

”Here’s the thing, boss. If my wife comes too, then both of us would be working for Lu’s, right? So can we live in this backyard?”

”Yes.”

”But if that’s the case, then there will be no one to take care of our two kids at home, so we might need to bring them over. But don’t worry, all four of us can fit in one room just fine, and my kids are very well-behaved. My eldest daughter is ten, and my youngest son is six, both taught well by my wife. Having them stay in the backyard, they absolutely wouldn’t come to the front shop, plus they could help with little things. The cost of their daily meals can just be deducted from my wages.”

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu suddenly understood and leaned against the counter with a half-smile, ”I see, you want to split from your family. But you’re worried that if you move out on your own and rent a place, your parents and brothers might come looking for trouble with your wife and children when you’re not at home. So it’s better to move your whole family to this backyard. Firstly, your wife would have a legitimate job, so they couldn’t make excuses to have her return home to serve your parents. Secondly, you could keep an eye on things, and thirdly...”

Jiang Fengshou laughed awkwardly and added, ”Thirdly, we hope the county magistrate can back us up, since we’re now under you.”

Shu Yu looked speechless, ”So you’re scheming against me now?”

”Of course not, I’m just asking for your help, boss.” Who openly admits to scheming like this?

But the boss is really smart; he only just started speaking, and boss figured out the rest of it.

Jiang Fengshou was still somewhat uneasy, ”Boss, please help us out, or it will be really tough for me. I work for you, I...”

”Stop, stop, stop.” Shu Yu raised a hand, ”Alright, I agree. But the condition is your wife has to try it out here for a few days first. If she fits in, she can stay; if not, I won’t keep her. Helping is one thing, hiring is another. Understand?”

”Understand, understand, understand.” Jiang Fengshou nodded repeatedly. He was very confident that with his wife’s diligence and cooking skills, she would definitely be liked by the boss.

Shu Yu waved a hand, ”Alright, then you keep busy. I’m going to have lunch and will come back this afternoon.”

”Boss, take care.”

Shu Yu walked out with Ying Xi, calling over to Brother Daniu, ”Brother Daniu, let’s go, time for lunch, and I’ll tell you something on the way.”

”Alright.” Daniu put down his work and immediately followed.

”Yu, what do you need to tell me?”

”Let’s find a restaurant to sit down and chat slowly.”

The three of them exited from the backyard, and just around the corner, down an alley, was a restaurant.

However, just as they turned the corner, they saw two somewhat familiar figures in front of them, one of whom had just delivered lunch to Zhou Tiedong—Wang Yue, and the other was... Chen Qiu?
