The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

But it was useless.

The boss of the Liu Family didn’t even want to see Jiang Fengshou, so he could only take advantage of the annual meeting of shopkeepers reporting to find a chance to meet the boss.

The boss listened to him, but afterward, showed a very disdainful expression. He said Jiang was daydreaming, unrealistic, and simply trying to ask him for money.

Jiang Fengshou’s enthusiasm was completely crushed after several attempts.

He regretted that the Liu Family didn’t believe in him. However, they didn’t dismiss him, just asked him to be a regular shopkeeper at the grocery store.

Among the Liu Family’s many businesses, the grocery store was just a small storefront, not seeking merit but avoiding mistakes, making some money would suffice.

Nevertheless, over the years, Jiang Fengshou still managed to turn the original small grocery store into two larger ones.

But now things were different, he felt the passion extinguished in his twenties igniting again. He wanted to help the county magistrate do a good job, expand the shop, not only open several more in Changjin Prefecture but also flourish elsewhere in the future.

Moreover, the county magistrate was very approachable and listened to others’ opinions.

”Alright, everything needed has been said, now it’s time to distribute the bonuses. According to the rules, each person will receive one tael of silver as a bonus. If business is good at the end of the month, there will be more. As for the biggest contributor, Jiang Fengshou, two taels of silver, any objections?”

Shu Yu’s words suddenly pulled Jiang Fengshou’s thoughts back, he widened his eyes, ”Me, two taels?”

”Of course, I said if done well, I won’t shortchange him.” Last time during the opening in Dongan Province, all the lottery and nursery rhyme ideas were hers, hence Wei Ronghua as the shopkeeper received the same bonus as others.

This time was different, Jiang Fengshou truly made an indispensable contribution.

Jiang Fengshou was very happy, the boss was indeed generous, if such opportunities came several times, and bonuses were distributed often, buying a house near Fuyuan Street wouldn’t be a dream. Then he could move with his wife and children, away from the brother and sister-in-law always wanting to leech off him.

Daniu and others had been through this before, so they were calm.

It was the first for Zhou Tiedong and Li Rongman, their eyes brightened, and they didn’t know where to place their hands and feet.

One tael of silver as a bonus, wasn’t it too generous?

Zhou Tiedong was fine, he had just received some money from the Chen Family earlier, so he was relatively well-off.

Li Rongman was excited, he hadn’t married yet, now not only had a legitimate job but on the first day of opening had such a bonus, saving up a bit, and he’d have the bride price.

Shu Yu didn’t delay either, busy all day, everyone was very tired.

She directly distributed the money to each person and waved her hand saying, ”Alright, it’s late, everyone has to work tomorrow, go rest.”

Upon hearing this, everyone got up; they didn’t have to clear up the dishes on the table. Meng Yunzheng had already arranged with the restaurant in advance, agreeing that in about a quarter of an hour, they would come to tidy up and take the dishes back.

Except for Li Rongman who stayed in the shop’s backyard, the others left after stepping out.

Meng Yunzheng first sent Shu Yu and the others home, chatted for a while, and then took Meng Qi away.

The house rented by the Lu family wasn’t very large, if the three kids were there, it probably wouldn’t be enough to accommodate.

Luckily the three kids hadn’t returned yet, there was room available.
