The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

By the time everyone finished eating and lay back on their chairs, Meng Yunzheng had already returned with the account book.

He shook the account book slightly, ”I’ve calculated it, and after deducting costs, we made almost as much as we did last time in Dongan Province.” Maybe even a bit more.

After all, Old Master Yang and his people came over this time and helped consume a large portion.

Last time in Dongan Province, the major upfront investment was the prize for the lottery, and this time, it was the advertising expenses—it was the cost of Jiang Fengshou hiring people for promotion and entertainment, and this amount wasn’t small.

There was also the transportation cost, and this was a major expense too.

However, many of the goods transported are still in the warehouse waiting to be sold, so to calculate the profit, we’ll have to wait until everything is sold. For now, we can only estimate.

But because of the long journey needed for transportation, the price of melon seeds and sunflower oil in Changjin Prefecture is slightly higher than in Dongan Province.

They are merchants, after all, and still need to make money.

Shu Yu was delighted to hear Meng Yunzheng’s words, immediately stood up, took the account book from him, flipped to the last page and saw the final numbers—it was indeed so.

She clapped her hands together suddenly, ”This lively opening we had this time is thanks to everyone’s efforts. You’ve all worked hard.”

Zhou Tiedong and the others immediately waved their hands in embarrassment.

Shu Yu laughed, ”The person who deserves the most credit is Jiang Fengshou. From the planning document to the post-promotion execution, it was all his doing. Without his achievement, we wouldn’t have such results. Let’s give him a round of applause.”

Jiang Fengshou wasn’t embarrassed at all. Although just now he was exhausted like a dead fish, he now stood up energetically and said, ”The boss is too kind. I am not worthy, really. But since the boss says so, I’ll just say a few words and share my experience.”

Everyone, ”...”

Shu Yu nodded, ”Alright, you say a few words.”

Jiang Fengshou, like Third Lu, needs a chance to showcase his talents.

Jiang Fengshou chuckled, ”Firstly, I must thank the boss for her discerning eye. If it weren’t for the boss letting me take charge, trusting me even while I listened to operas and wandered leisurely, even giving me money to entertain boldly, I wouldn’t have been able to create such a proper...whatever planning document. Secondly...”

”Alright, that’s two sentences.” Shu Yu waved her hand, ”Sit down.”

Jiang Fengshou looked at her incredulously, ”That’s it? Weren’t you going to give me a chance to shine? It’s over just when I praised you?”

”You said you’d speak simply just a few words.”

The others laughed, ”I counted, it was two sentences.”

”The shopkeeper said it well, applause.” Meng Han clapped joyfully first.

Jiang Fengshou sat down angrily, taking a fierce bite of the peach in his hand.

But seeing everyone talking and laughing, he couldn’t help but join in the fun.

Today, he was truly both exhausted and happy.

He had been a shopkeeper before and had seen other shopkeepers, but none could do things as freely and energetically as he could now.

Even though the boss is the county magistrate, she is approachable and genuine. The things he said were sincere; the county magistrate truly recognizes people with talent. With his kind of personality, in other shops, he would be considered worthless.

Back when he was in the Liu Family’s shop, he once had ambitions to grow the Liu Family’s grocery shop and make it strong. He had tried very hard and put forward many proposals, working hard behind the scenes to make them seem realistic and feasible.
