The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Old Master Yang sighed inwardly, the county magistrate was ultimately unfamiliar with Changjin Prefecture, and selling new stuff, it’s inevitable for the townspeople to hesitate a bit.

Thinking of this, Old Master Yang signaled to He Er and the others behind him, then spoke loudly.

”County magistrate, we want to buy melon seeds, sunflower oil, instant noodles, and those sausage things, all of them. Give me... fifty of each.”

Fifty is not too many or too few, it wouldn’t make people think they are specially taking care of the county magistrate’s new business, nor would it make the opening day too quiet with business suffering.

Others nodded, ”Yes, we’ll take fifty of each too.”

Shu Yu, ”...” Why do they seem so strange, is there some misunderstanding?

After all, having deep ties with Old Master Yang and others, Shu Yu still offered a word of advice, ”Although our food can be stored for a long time, it’s still food and has a shelf life. Buying too much and not finishing it, it’ll spoil at the last minute. Why not buy a little first to see if it suits your taste?”

”Indeed, Old Master Yang, plus you’ve already given a congratulatory gift, that’s very kind, we’ll return the favor. The return gifts include these foods, you can take them back to try, no need to buy.” Meng Han added on the side.

Return gifts? And give each kind?

Although it’s customary, Old Master Yang felt quite distressed. With so many of them, wouldn’t the county magistrate lose money? How uncomfortable that would be.

Old Master Yang sighed, ”County magistrate, return gifts are one thing, but us wanting to buy is another. You know, we came all the way from Chenggu County, it’s not easy, of course, we need to stock up more. Besides, we have quite a few friends and family, sending one to each would be gone. Your goods are after all new and everyone is eager for them.”

He Er nodded repeatedly, bringing with him the cousin who once got feverish at the black market, ”If only the county magistrate had opened a shop in Chenggu County, the business would definitely be booming.”

His cousin beside him muttered, ”How come the prefecture’s guests don’t recognize the goods? Such good stuff and they don’t scramble for it.”

As they talked over here, the guests nearby heard too. Some affluent ones immediately said, ”Who doesn’t recognize the goods? It can boom here as well, we want fifty of each too.”

They’re wealthy local householders of the prefecture, surely they can’t be outdone by those from the county town? What a joke.

Money doesn’t matter, being outshined by those from the county town is absolutely unacceptable, the competitive spirit flared up instantly.

”Then we want sixty of each.” The young cousin wouldn’t be overshadowed, for he knows Scholar Meng and County Lord Lu are his saviors, he absolutely couldn’t lose face.

”We want seventy of each.”

Shu Yu, ”...” What’s up with this strange competition?

If she let them continue, after today, there’d be no stock left in her shop.

She quickly stopped them, ”Alright, alright, everyone gets their share, I appreciate everyone supporting my business. But buying too much really isn’t convenient, the limit is fifty, no more.”

Old Master Yang sighed, ”County magistrate, you’re really too thoughtful for others.”

Shu Yu’s mouth twitched, no, she’s considering her own long and arduous journey of transporting goods.

”Fifty it is then, staff, pack it up.”

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu breathed a sigh of relief, but who knew more people flooded in from outside.
