The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

When Lu’s opened its doors on the second day, the customers still kept coming in droves.

Even if it wasn’t as bustling as the first day, it was still much livelier than the surrounding shops.

This was the effect of advertisements spread throughout the city; everyone talked about it, making the name Lu’s well-known, naturally considering it a famous and reliable large shop.

Many customers still hoped for continued discounts today, but the initial promise was just for one day. If we abruptly change plans due to a few remarks, the earlier promotions turn into unreliable words, harming the shop’s reputation.

Therefore, although Jiang Fengshou and the others were still smiling, the meaning in their words was firm, ”Yesterday’s opening had enough discounts so huge, we truly didn’t make a profit. If today continues with discounts, my legs would get broken by the boss.”

The customer across laughed, ”Your boss is the county magistrate; is the county magistrate really that ruthless?”

”The county magistrate isn’t that ruthless, but I’m dragging the boss down and feel bad, so I’d have to beg forgiveness, right? But madam, although we don’t have discounts today, we plan to have various events during the festivals to thank both new and old customers. When you visit then, I promise you’ll get the biggest discount, how about it?”

”Really?”

”Of course it’s true. Madam, today, you should just buy a little. If you try it and like it, during the events, you can buy more, how about that?”

In the end, the customer was persuaded by Jiang Fengshou and bought a little to take home.

When Shu Yu came over, he just happened to hear Jiang Fengshou’s phrase, ’my legs would get broken by the boss’.

He then looked at Jiang Fengshou with a half-smiling expression. Jiang felt a scorching gaze and, upon turning, shivered, then laughed awkwardly as he came over greeting him.

Shu Yu walked into the shop, not dwelling on it and simply asked, ”How’s business today?”

”Good, although it’s not as hot as yesterday, there’s been a constant flow of customers.”

”That’s good.” Shu Yu took a look around, seeing they were busy, and grabbed the ledger to check the inventory in the back courtyard.

Don’t be fooled by the long line Daniu had delivered the other day—it seemed like a lot of stuff—but given yesterday’s bustling level, a full eighth was sold in one day.

Shu Yu clicked his tongue twice, realizing he’d have to quickly transport another batch over; otherwise, there’d be a shortage. If another event were held, it truly wouldn’t hold up.

Still, things should stabilize later; especially with people buying in quantity. If it’s not for gifts but personal use, it should last for a while.

After reconciling the accounts, Shu Yu emerged—it was already noon.

The shop was quiet now; everyone’s having lunch.

Wang Yue happened to come to deliver lunch to Zhou Tiedong and felt a bit shy when she saw Shu Yu, ”Boss.”

Shu Yu nodded, ”You guys head to the back courtyard to eat. There are fewer customers now, no rush.”

”Thank you, boss.”

Wang Yue went to the back courtyard with Zhou Tiedong, while Shu Yu approached the counter, noticing Jiang Fengshou laughing heartily there.

Shu Yu twitched his mouth, suspiciously eyeing him, ”You seem particularly happy today?”

Jiang Fengshou suddenly raised his head, seeing Shu Yu’s gentle expression, and chuckled twice more, ”Of course I’m happy; come to think of it, I must thank the boss.”
