The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1904: Chapter 1904: Qi Lie Has Good News for Shu Yu

Shu Yu returned to the prefecture, rushing around these days, both traveling and organizing Chen Bing’s affairs, she really hadn’t had a good look at the current Changjin Prefecture’s prefecture city.

Perhaps after experiencing the baptism of rebellion, the once prosperous Changjin Prefecture seemed to have suddenly settled down, and the surrounding atmosphere seemed much more stable.

However, such a Changjin Prefecture gave people a feeling of stability instead.

Even Shu Yu’s mood followed suit and calmed down. Shurui and Erniu said halfway that they wanted to wander around by themselves. Shu Yu waved her hand and let them go play, while she dragged Ying Xi and slowly walked back to the inn.

Who knew that just after entering the backyard, Xia Yan was already waiting for her there.

”Why are you here? Did Yun have something to discuss with me?”

Xia Yan shook his head, ”Not the Young Master, it’s Lord Qi who wants you to go to the government office.”

”Wants me to go to the government office?”

”Yes, said there’s a good thing to discuss with you.”

A good thing? What good thing could Qi Lie possibly have?

She wanted to get some information from Xia Yan, but Xia Yan himself was bewildered and was not very clear.

Alright then, Shu Yu stood up, ”Let’s go to the government office.”

When she arrived at the government office, Meng Yunzheng was also there, sitting in Qi Lie’s study with a very helpless expression on his face.

Shu Yu became increasingly confused, glanced at Meng Yunzheng, and sat down on the chair beside him.

As soon as she sat down, Qi Lie laughed and said, ”County Lord Lu, I’ve got a good thing here, and I’m the first to look for you, isn’t that loyal?”

Shu Yu’s mouth twitched, she’s not a three-year-old child. Would an old fox like Qi Lie in the officialdom be in such a hurry to ask Xia Yan to find her if there was no benefit for him?

She straightened her spine slightly, the corners of her mouth lifted into a very business-like smile, ”I wonder what good thing makes you think of me like this, my lord.”

Qi Lie, acting as if he didn’t notice her perfunctory smile, picked up a few sheets of paper from the table and waved them, ”This, does it interest you, County Lord Lu?”

Shu Yu walked over and took those papers, glanced at them, and unexpectedly found that they were several land deeds.

”These are...”

Qi Lie took a sip of tea and smiled, ”At the end of last year, many officials in Changjin Prefecture were disgraced. Those officials had plenty of industries in their hands, and there were some merchants and civilians who colluded with them. Now they have all been sentenced, and the house deeds and shop deeds in their hands have naturally been confiscated. You’ve been in Changjin Prefecture for two days, I think you’ve seen that many shops are closed, right?”

Shu Yu nodded, ”Indeed.”

”Those closed shops originally belonged to them. Now the authorities need to auction them again to gather funds to strengthen the public treasury. I just thought your workshop in Dongan Province is quite large. I heard that the store in the prefecture there has opened, and the business has also stabilized. Given your abilities, it’s time to expand the business, isn’t it? Ready-made shops.”

Shu Yu was stunned, opening shops in Changjin Prefecture?

Last year she had such an idea, but at that time when she saw the business at the agency was not quite right, she temporarily dismissed the thought.

Today, by coincidence, she paid good attention to the prefecture city. Now, Changjin Prefecture is indeed very suitable for opening shops and doing business. Even if Qi Lie hadn’t mentioned it, Shu Yu would most likely have considered it.

The family’s workshop is getting bigger and bigger, and in the future, the production of melon seeds and other products will definitely increase. The shops in Dongan Province are bustling, if there were a shop opened here, the business shouldn’t be bad.
