The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1931: Chapter 1931: The Goods Have Finally Arrived

”Yunzheng.” Daniu was very pleased, scrutinizing him for a while, ”Why have you gotten darker and thinner? Have you been working hard these days?”

”It’s nothing, I’m not as busy now.” He glanced at the convoy behind him, realizing it wasn’t ideal to be stuck here, so he said to Daniu, ”Let’s get the goods to the shop first. Come on, let me take you to see Yu.”

The officers nearby, seeing they weren’t needed, bowed to Meng Yunzheng and prepared to return to the city gate. Daniu quickly handed them a pack of melon seeds and three packs of Instant Noodles, saying, ”Thank you, Bailiff, for leading the way.”

The bailiff looked at Meng Yunzheng, and after seeing him nod, accepted the gift and said, ”You’re too kind, Sir Lu.”

Once the officers had gone, Meng Yunzheng led Daniu towards Fuyuan Street.

The townspeople along the street watched the long convoy move from the city gate to the government office, then from the office, setting out towards Fuyuan Street.

Originally, people would only glance twice at such a convoy, but since it went to the government office and then left, the townspeople grew more curious, with some even following behind to see the spectacle.

Not until the convoy stopped in front of that corner shop on Fuyuan Street did everyone finally understand, especially the nearby shop owners and some shopkeepers. The mystery of the past few days was finally solved — could these be the goods the county magistrate wanted to sell? And such a large amount, too.

But the goods on the carts were tightly covered with oilcloth, so curious onlookers couldn’t see them.

The shop was open, and today Jiang Fengshou happened to be cleaning with Zhou Tiedong and Li Rongman. They heard from the boss that the goods would arrive in these few days, so they came over in advance.

Unexpectedly, the convoy arrived just at the right time.

Jiang Fengshou hurried out of the shop and cupped his hands towards Meng Yunzheng, ”Young Master Meng, these are...”

”These are goods transported from Dongan Province, and this is Daniu, your boss’s elder brother. You can call him Steward Lu.”

”Steward Lu.” The three of them were very pleased. After waiting for so many days, the goods were finally delivered.

Meng Yunzheng noticed quite a crowd watching on the street, so he simply said to everyone, ”Everyone, please help out a bit. Let’s unload the goods first; Shu Yu should be here soon.”

He had already sent Xia Yan to the Lu family to pass on the news, and since Shu Yu’s rented house was nearby, she would likely arrive soon.

Indeed, just as Daniu was leading people to untie the oilcloth on the first cart, Shu Yu came running over with Ying Xi.

”Brother Daniu, you’re here? I thought it would take a few more days for you to arrive.”

Daniu laughed, ”Knowing you needed it urgently, we didn’t dare delay on the road, quickly bringing it over to set your mind at ease.” As Shu Yu approached, he furrowed his brow, ”You seem to have lost weight too?”

”No, it’s just that you haven’t seen me for so many days, it’s psychological.” Shu Yu looked at the convoy in front of her, quite satisfied, ”How much did you bring over?”

”We brought as much as we could. It’s a long journey here, and it’s not easy to deliver once. When we set out, there wasn’t much stock left in the workshop. Thankfully, the expanded workshop has begun operations, so supplying to the capital and Dongan Prefecture isn’t delayed.”

Actually, the workshop didn’t have much stock to begin with. After the new year, a batch was sent to the capital, and the second branch in Dongan Prefecture was doing very well. If there was more time, Daniu would have preferred to wait longer.

”That’s good.” Shu Yu raised her hand, turned her head, and began calculating in her mind. Unexpectedly, midway through her calculations, she suddenly stopped, staring in surprise at the middle-aged couple climbing out of the carriage.
