The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

But now, Jiang Fengshou is thinking about splitting up the family again.

When he has work, his parents and brothers show him two taels of goodwill, yet they still try all sorts of ways to swindle money from him. In the last few months when he had no work, the family was complaining all the time.

He doesn’t mind being thick-skinned, but his wife is thin-skinned, kind-hearted, and their child is young. They don’t even know when they’ve been bullied.

So he wants to move out; it’s just that there’s still a problem not yet resolved.

Jiang Fengshou couldn’t help but look up, cautiously glanced at Shu Yu, and sighed, saying, ”Boss, you don’t know, since my wife married me, she hasn’t had a few good days. Seeing her like this makes me upset. Yesterday, I bought a bracelet that made her so happy, and it really pains my heart. But Brother and Sister-in-law are always watching my family. I don’t know if the bracelet will be safe, if it’s gone, won’t I let down the boss’s kind intentions?”

Shu Yu resisted the urge to roll her eyes, ”Alright, say what’s on your mind. Don’t talk like you’re suffering; all these twists make my head hurt.”

Jiang Fengshou chuckled, ”Boss, didn’t you say you were looking for someone to cook meals in the backyard of our store? Let me tell you, my wife is extremely diligent, cooks delicious food, and is very sensible. There’s no one better suited than her.”

Shu Yu squinted her eyes; working on her side indeed provides room and board. However, Jiang Fengshou stays at home, while Zhou Tiedong, after marrying his wife, rents outside, so she only offered a little subsidy for accommodation.

As for the meals, at first she thought of asking Aunt He. Aunt He had been working at her rented little courtyard; once she left Changjin Prefecture, she intended to have Aunt He cook a few meals in the backyard of the store.

After all, she knew Aunt He well and felt most at ease with her. But just a couple of days ago, Aunt He’s elder daughter-in-law accidentally broke her leg and can’t get out of bed yet, and she has a little son still in swaddling clothes, causing chaos at home.

Everyone else at home had their own jobs and really couldn’t spare much time. Aunt He thought about it for two days and, seeing her family’s condition, came to Shu Yu to decline the job.

Aunt He had her own troubles, and Shu Yu couldn’t force her, so she let her go back and started looking again for someone to cook meals.

She figured Jiang Fengshou, as a friend of women, was familiar with Changjin Prefecture, so she let him find someone.

Who knew he would directly find his own wife. He’s really recommending talents without avoiding family ties.

Shu Yu frowned slightly, ”At Lu’s, we generally don’t hire couples to work at the same place.”

Jiang Fengshou nodded repeatedly, ”I understand, I understand what the boss means. Rest assured, both of us are very disciplined, especially my wife, she’s very obedient. You’ll see when you meet her. If she comes to work at the store, she’ll definitely just work in the backyard and won’t meddle with the front shop’s affairs. I guarantee public and private separation! There will absolutely be no misuse of power, after all, I have a family, right? I have to consider my child. If I do anything unfavorable to Lu’s, the boss can send me to jail.”

Shu Yu laughed, ”It’s not that serious.”

Since employing Jiang Fengshou, she wasn’t worried he would misuse power. If he were inclined to do so, he could have done much when working with Liu’s Grocery Store, utilizing Liu family’s position in Changjin Prefecture.
