The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu nodded, ”I see, but since Tang Wenqian is the county magistrate of Chenggu County, and although it’s not too far from here, it is getting late. If you rushed there now, the city gates might be closed. How about this, you stay in the prefecture for the night, and tomorrow I’ll arrange for someone to take you to the county town.”

”Ah, thank you.” Father Tang quickly nodded, following the arrangement.

Shu Yu then asked Ying Xi to book rooms at an inn, not only for Tang family’s parents but also for the staff and escorts accompanying them. Daniu could stay at the courtyard she rented, but the others needed to be properly accommodated.

While everyone was busy moving goods, Ying Xi first took Tang family’s parents to a nearby inn.

Once they left, the place became bustling again.

Shu Yu asked Jiang Fengshou to arrange the items for storage while she and Meng Yunzheng went to the backyard to prepare tea for everyone to quench their thirst.

There were quite a lot of items to count and account for so that it took another hour. By the time they finished, night had fallen.

Shu Yu let everyone sit and rest for a while, then said, ”You’ve all worked hard on this journey, the inn has prepared food and drinks, I’ll have someone take you over, and you can rest well tonight.”

”Thank you, county magistrate.”

Shu Yu then entrusted Dazhuang, who had also accompanied them, to settle them into the inn.

Meng Yunzheng also left, midway he was called away by Qi Lie’s subordinates.

Shu Yu had a feeling that Qi Lie was poaching her people.

She shook her head, closed the shop door, blocking the view from outside, and the shopkeepers who wanted to come over to gather news.

In the shop’s backyard, only Shu Yu, Daniu, Jiang Fengshou, and two staff members remained.

Shu Yu took them to the storeroom and showed samples to Jiang Fengshou and the other two, ”These are sunflower oil, melon seeds, and instant noodles. This is sausage, a new product from the workshop. Take some home tonight, try them out; our people should know well what our own products are like for a better understanding.”

Lest when customers ask, they can’t even answer.

Jiang Fengshou first took some melon seeds, shelled two, and ate them, ”Hmm, fragrant.”

He skillfully packed the items, cheerfully saying, ”I’ll head back now and ask my wife to cook the noodles for me, using this sunflower oil and adding the sausages.”

Zhou Tiedong saw this and, after hesitating for a moment, took his share as well.

Li Rongman was not yet married and lived in the shop’s backyard, so he was in no hurry.

After settling the plans, they left through the back door.

Shu Yu took Lu Daniu back to her rented house; as soon as they opened the courtyard gate, someone came to greet them, ”Miss, you’re back?”

Shu Yu introduced Daniu, ”This is Aunt He, she’s temporarily helping us with cooking and washing clothes.”

Shu Yu and Ying Xi were busy, and sometimes the three young ones would stay overnight elsewhere when traveling far, like today; they had gone to a neighboring county town and would probably not be back for a couple of days.

So Shu Yu asked Aunt He if she could help. Knowing they wouldn’t stay long and would only hire someone for the short term, and Aunt He was trustworthy, she agreed, so Shu Yu let her help temporarily.

Aunt He smiled and said, ”This must be Sir Lu, dinner is ready, you must be tired after a long day, so have your meal first.”

Lu Daniu felt a bit embarrassed; being out and about, everyone now called him Sir Lu, which made him uncomfortable.
