The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1847: Chapter 1847: He Learned Greed from His Father

Shu Yu almost burst into laughter. After Chen He finished speaking, he dragged the staff into the shop, really closed the two doors in front of them, and went on to solve the problem by himself.

The onlookers outside were staring at each other, stunned by the antics of these two.

What on earth was this? They argued for half a day until everyone had a headache, and ended up having no resolution whatsoever before leaving?

They didn’t even get to enjoy the gossip fully. Isn’t this too much?

The woman next to Shu Yu let out a sigh and said with great regret, ”This is really disappointing. I wanted to see who was at fault. Let’s go, let’s go, time to head home and cook.”

The rest shook their heads and started to leave.

Shu Yu exchanged a glance with the old lady. Though there wasn’t any excitement to watch now, knowing Chen He was back, it wouldn’t be right to miss the chance to get news about Chen Bing directly from him.

Shu Yu was about to step forward when she saw Third Lu, who had disappeared earlier, returning, his face glowing with excitement, jumping in front of them with a satisfied look after finishing the gossip.

”Mother, Yu, do you know what I found out just now?”

”What?” The old lady pointed at the tightly closed door of the grocery store ahead and asked, ”Did you really find out who was right and who was wrong between them?”

”Heh, I really did find out. I am recognized by all, even Yu, as a master of finding out details.”

Shu Yu, ”...” When did she ever acknowledge that?

While speaking, Third Lu looked around. This wasn’t the place to talk. So he supported the old lady back onto the carriage, climbing up himself in high spirits.

”Mother, didn’t I come here earlier on my own? Then I very precisely found a woman who seemed to know the full story and asked her for information. Sure enough, that woman was the Boss Lady of the shop next to that grocery store. She told me that Chen He and that staff began arguing in the back yard of the shop.”

”That staff indeed took advantage of the boss’s absence and slyly embezzled some small items. He originally thought it wouldn’t be discovered, but little did he know, Chen He is the kind of person who wouldn’t even spare a cup of tea cheap, checked two months’ worth of accounts in one day, and indeed found out about it. So he decided to make the staff pay more so he would have some private money.”

Shuyou asked curiously, ”Pay more? How much?”

Third Lu gestured, ”This guy is quite greedy, demanding compensation ten times the amount.”

Tsk tsk, ten times, based on the things the staff embezzled, that amounts to three taels of silver.

For the staff, that’s four months’ wages.

”The staff refused, so the two started to argue. Originally, the argument was in the courtyard, but it got more heated. In the end, they started to push and shove right to the doorway and got seen by everyone.”

The staff refused to admit to embezzling, otherwise, who would dare to hire him in the future? Chen He insisted that at least two taels of goods from home had gone missing and demanded compensation. Neither would yield, leading to the current situation.

The old lady suddenly understood, ”No wonder neither of them wanted to see the officials.”

They’re both greedy; in this situation, they’d both get a beating if they saw the officials.

Third Lu chuckled, ”Mother, I also found out one more thing. This Chen He nowadays wants to bite a piece out of the staff because he learned it from his dad. It’s said that just over two months ago, his dad did the same thing.”
