The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1835: Chapter 1835: Scrambling to Go

Coincidentally, Lu Sanzhu is very interested in traveling long distances, even more actively excited than the children.

He had never been outside Dongan Province and had long wanted to go out and see, especially after hearing his second brother talk about the customs and culture of Linzhang Prefecture in the southwest and the places he passed by on the way, which he longed for.

But at that time, firstly he had no money, secondly he had no time, so he could only think about it in his mind.

Now that he has finally encountered such a good opportunity, and it doesn’t require him to spend money, it would be a pity to miss it.

Lu Sanzhu immediately went to the boss of Peach Blossom Forest to request leave. This time it was different from the small troubles before; he would be gone for several months, which put the boss in a bit of a dilemma.

Lu Sanzhu used every ounce of his strength, laying out the facts and reasoning, and finally managed to sway the boss.

The boss didn’t mind other things, but Lu Sanzhu was right about one thing. As a steward, he couldn’t operate behind closed doors, and it was important to go out and broaden his knowledge.

Especially now that Jiangyuan County is getting more and more prosperous, and visibly more tourists have been coming to Peach Blossom Forest, including many from other county towns. But Peach Blossom Forest had remained unchanged over the years, which always felt a bit lacking.

As a steward, Lu Sanzhu occasionally had to entertain high-profile guests. However, his limited experience often left him unable to engage in the conversations. This couldn’t go on, and Lu Sanzhu had long felt a career crisis.

Hearing this, the boss was very interested and eventually agreed to give him a few months to go out and take a look. However, there was a condition; this trip couldn’t be for nothing, and when he returned, he had to submit an effective report of his observations. If he provided suggestions beneficial to the future development of Peach Blossom Forest, he would receive a raise in wages.

Without a word, Lu Sanzhu agreed.

After resolving things with the boss, he shamelessly pestered the old lady, insisting on going. He argued that since the family’s old lady and the second were out, the eldest should stay and guard the home. If left with only him, the third, at home, without anyone to keep him in check, he would surely cause trouble.

This statement made the old lady roll her eyes, but Lu Sanzhu, despite being lacking in other areas, had no shortage of clever tricks, and being slick like him would only help him get by better on the road.

Thus, Lu Sanzhu became one of the travelers.

Including Hua Xian, who usually attended to the old lady, and the skilled Ying Dong, their group consisted of eight people.

They also found several escorts in the prefecture who were also heading north, and they traveled together all the way to the border of Changjin Prefecture before parting ways.

The old lady’s original plan was to reach Chenggu County before the New Year, but unfortunately, firstly, the old lady was getting on in years, and although she claimed her health was good, her sons, Lu Erbai and Lu Sanzhu, unanimously decided to slow down the pace.

Secondly, the three young boys were indeed out for an excursion, and they couldn’t just keep pressing on without stopping. Whenever they came across meaningful events like poetry gatherings, the old lady would request a stop, allowing the three kids to participate, gain experience, and see how the scholars of other places were doing.

This back-and-forth meant they only arrived at Chenggu County today.

After listening to Lu Erbai’s explanation, Shu Yu finally understood and turned to Shurui and the other two, saying, ”You are on an adventure, since you’ve arrived in Chenggu County, take the time to explore it thoroughly. Rest well today; I’ll find someone to show you around Chenggu County another day.”
