The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1641: Chapter 1641: Someone Wants to Open Our Door

Meng Qi walked over to her side, handing her a piece of flatbread, “Ah Han, have something to eat.”

Ah Han lifted her head, her eyes red, “Brother, I want to go outside.”

Meng Qi’s face didn’t look good either, the red veins in his eyes were very noticeable, and he was filthy. Hearing his sister’s words, he let out a long breath, “Wait a little longer, one more day. If there’s no movement outside, I’ll go take a look.”

“But I’m very worried, Father and Eldest Uncle haven’t come back yet. We don’t know when those mountain bandits will show up again, and now we don’t even dare to go out to buy food easily. Just sitting here waiting to die, I’d rather go out and fight them.”

Meng Qi’s fingers clenched tightly. After a long while, he patted her shoulder, “Don’t speak nonsense, did you forget what Eldest Uncle instructed?”

Thinking about Meng Pei’s instructions before leaving, Ah Han could only suppress the agitation in her heart, letting her shoulders droop powerlessly, she said dispiritedly, “I understand, I won’t be impulsive.”

Though she said so, tears still fell down in big drops.

Meng Qi sighed, didn’t say anything more, and took the flatbread to distribute to others.

When he reached the corner, he paused his steps, and handed two pieces of flatbread forward.

The two people sitting on the ground looked up, one of them looking at him with some expectation, “Ah Qi… I…”

After stuffing the flatbread into her hand, Meng Qi turned his head and left, unwilling to talk more with her.

“Ah Qi, Mother knows she was wrong, please talk to her.”

The voice behind became urgent.

Meng Qi still ignored her, striding back to Ah Han’s side.

Ms. Tao looked at the silhouettes of the siblings, her eyes turning red as she sat back down. The other people in the secret chamber turned their heads to look at her, making Ms. Tao feel embarrassed, she lowered her head and silently gnawed on the flatbread.

Seeing this, the others lightly snorted, with disdain in their eyes, and turned away, unwilling to give her a second glance or say another word to her.

Meng Qi sat beside Ah Han, took a sip of water, and after finishing the flatbread, couldn’t help but touch the Soft Sword at his waist.

If… if Meng Yunzheng were here, facing such a situation, what would he do?

Father said that this cousin of his was quite capable, infiltrating the enemy Gong Qiu’s side at the age of ten, acting dumb in front of the murderer of his mother, cleverly sending the man to the execution platform with one move.

Now that he has avenged, he immediately scored high and became one of the local scholars.

Ten years old, what was he doing at the age of ten?

Meng Qi had complex feelings towards Meng Yunzheng, a bit of jealousy, some unwillingness, but he understood more deeply that hidden within this jealousy and unwillingness was… admiration.

Having such an older brother, shouldn’t he be proud?

The other party even gave him a Soft Sword, what Meng Yunzheng could achieve at ten, he could certainly achieve at sixteen. Taking care of the people in the secret chamber, compared to him, is nothing.

Just as he was thinking this, suddenly Uncle Gao’s panicked voice came from the secret passage entrance, “Someone’s outside, someone is trying to open our door.”

The people in the secret chamber were startled, jumping up in unison, gathering into the middle.

Meng Qi and Ah Han’s expressions changed, the two hurried to the secret passage entrance, and indeed heard noises from outside.

“It’s okay, the door is locked from the inside, people outside can’t open it.”

Ah Han asked in a whisper, “Could it be Father and Eldest Uncle coming back?”
