The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1601: Chapter 1601: Shu Yu Doesn’t Want Her to Go Back

Shu Yu turned her head in surprise, “They want you to go back? Back to Changjin Prefecture?”

Meng Han nodded, she had been out for a long time. She originally thought she could delay as long as possible, at least until she had seen the sunflowers in full bloom.

Now the sunflowers have bloomed, truly magnificent and astonishing.

Although Meng Han didn’t want to go back, at this point, there was no excuse to stay any longer.

When she first left home, it was on a whim, fortunately, her cousin and Sister Shuyu took her in, but this wasn’t her home, and she had already imposed for too long, she couldn’t stay here forever.

Just the thought of going back to face Tao Qin, and her biased mother made her feel anxious and resist.

Shu Yu pursed her lips, her brow slightly furrowed.

Changjin Prefecture is not peaceful now, the Emperor in the capital has started feigning illness, indicating that he doesn’t intend to continue tolerating the Second and Third Prince, and once the Emperor acts, Qi Lie, who has already infiltrated the black market of Changjin Prefecture, will certainly take action too.

The magistrate of Changjin Prefecture is a treacherous person, and once both sides have a conflict, the whole Changjin Prefecture might be thrown into chaos.

In such disorder, looting and robbing are bound to happen, and Meng Han, as a young woman, would surely be at a disadvantage if she encountered any trouble. Moreover, Uncle Meng has gone far away on a caravan assignment.

But these things, Shu Yu would certainly not tell her.

As she walked towards the edge of the field, she asked, “Does your cousin know about this?”

Meng Han shook her head, “The letter was received yesterday, my cousin wasn’t home at the time, and I was to come to Shangshi Village with Granny Fang, so I didn’t have the chance, neither my cousin nor Eldest Uncle knows about this yet.”

Granny Fang is the old lady, and Meng Han had come even earlier than Shu Yu.

She was quite interested in the marriage customs of Jiangyuan County here.

Shu Yu understood, “Let’s wait until Lanhua’s wedding is over and then discuss with your cousin about going back, we must plan it properly.”

Even if Meng Han has to return to Changjin Prefecture in the end, she should at least be escorted back by someone.

Meng Han thought it made sense, after all, there was no rush, she would delay as long as she could.

“Let’s go back, everyone should be done with lunch, after a short rest, the dowry will be carried to the groom’s house, we…”

Shu Yu was about to turn around when she suddenly paused, Meng Han was puzzled, “What’s wrong?”

Following Shu Yu’s gaze, she widened her eyes in surprise, “Isn’t that Xu Cai? After being thrown out by Lanhua, she didn’t go home but ran to the sunflower field, what’s she doing there?”

Shu Yu also found it strange, she originally had no impression of Xu Cai, if not for hearing her trying to sow discord earlier, she would have thought of her as merely Lanhua’s friend.

Now she just felt that this person was very jealous and thought it best to avoid any interaction.

But what was she sneakily doing in the sunflower field now?

Shu Yu squinted her eyes, if she went anywhere else, maybe it wouldn’t matter, but entering the field, she couldn’t help suspecting Xu Cai might be up to some mischief.

“Let’s go and see.”

The sunflowers were now very tall and large, densely packed, and once someone got in, their figure would almost be completely hidden.

Both Shu Yu and Meng Han were well-trained, their footsteps light, and they quickly followed the faint sounds to catch up with Xu Cai.

Before they could see clearly, they heard a strange voice ring out, “Ah Cai, you came.”
