The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1615: Chapter 1615: Shuyou Gave Birth

The old lady shook her head, ”They brought this upon themselves. Your mother is right, from now on, you must not associate with Xu Cai.”

”I understand, Grandmother.”

The situation with Xu Cai was too distressing, and the old lady didn’t want to discuss it further, so she turned to ask if they had visited Lord Yu.

Lanhua nodded, ”We went there yesterday afternoon, and our uncle gave us quite a lot of things.”

Lord Yu lives in town, not far from Shangshi Village.

As matchmakers, Lanhua and her husband naturally needed to express their gratitude with gifts.

Moreover, Yu Fenglin was alone, without parents, and any slightly closer relatives had severed ties years ago. Therefore, for their marriage, this distant uncle, Lord Yu, provided substantial help.

Madame Yu is still ’bedridden,’ so Lord Yu approached his sister, asking her to take care of the preparations and purchasing for Yu Fenglin’s wedding, even sending over a few servants to manage things inside and out.

The uncles and brothers who went to the Lu family to carry the bridal gifts and welcome the bride that day were actually called over by Lord Yu.

The relatives of Yu Fenglin and Lord Yu’s branch seemed to be getting closer and closer.

However, throughout, they never saw Madame Yu. Lord Yu only mentioned that she was unwell, didn’t look well, and didn’t want to meet people.

Lanhua, though she felt it slightly impolite not to visit, didn’t insist since Lord Yu had said so.

Therefore, in her mind, Madame Yu was a very mysterious person.

Shu Yu nearly spit the tea in her mouth upon hearing this.

Ahem? Mysterious?

Perhaps...?

”By the way, where is Sister Shuyou? I want to discuss the Yiren Pavilion with her.”

The old lady replied, ”In her own courtyard, you can go yourselves, Zhao Xi is also there. I will go to the kitchen to give some instructions, have lunch here at noon.”

Lanhua agreed and took Yu Fenglin to Shuyou’s courtyard.

However, soon after she entered the courtyard, she quickly ran out again, her face somewhat pale.

Shu Yu was planning to return to her study. Seeing her in such a panic, she hurriedly asked, ”What’s the matter?”

”Sister Shuyou is about to give birth, she’s about to give birth.”

Shu Yu was shocked, ”Is she about to give birth?” She became anxious and instinctively wanted to run forward.

Suddenly recalling something, she turned and instructed Ying Xi, ”Quickly, go to the kitchen to boil water, call two old women to come and help.”

Anything else? What else needs to be relayed?

Shu Yu’s mind was in chaos, even though she had experienced Zhou Qiao’s childbirth, she still didn’t know what else to do now.

Ying Xi agreed and ran off.

Shu Yu stood in place for a moment, then grabbed Lanhua and ran back.

Yu Fenglin was just standing in the courtyard; he wasn’t familiar with the Lu family, so he left the task of finding people to Lanhua.

But as someone was giving birth inside, it was not appropriate for him to go in, so he simply stood outside to keep watch.

As soon as Shu Yu came in, she urgently asked, ”How is it going?”

Yu Fenglin didn’t know either, and only said, ”Brother-in-law is delivering inside.”

Just as he finished speaking, Shuyou’s cries came from inside.

Shu Yu’s heart trembled, and she quickly ran inside.

In the room, Zhao Xi, the midwife, and Shuyou’s maid were assisting. Zhao Xi, being a doctor, and familiar with Shuyou’s condition, was personally handling the delivery.

He was comforting Shuyou while instructing her on how to adjust her breathing.

Shu Yu didn’t dare to disturb her, she could only help the maid gather things.

Not long after, the old lady came over. She had just been in the kitchen and, upon hearing Ying Xi’s words, hurried over immediately.
