The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1620: Chapter 1620: Meng Yunzheng Personally Delivers Weapons

Meng Yunzheng was silent for a moment, then looked up at her.

”Then why were you kidnapped by the abductors back then, and needed me to rescue you?”

Meng Han, ”...” The past was unbearable to recall, she silently packed away the medicine bags on the table.

Meng Yunzheng nodded with satisfaction and took out a dagger, ”Keep this dagger with you.”

Meng Han’s eyelids twitched even more. Did her cousin distrust her that much? She had learned her lesson and swore she wouldn’t get kidnapped by abductors again.

”This dagger is a gift for you. I heard you’ve always wanted one, but your parents wouldn’t give it to you because you’re a girl. You’ve been in Jiangyuan County for quite some time, and I haven’t given you anything yet. This dagger is finely crafted and sharp, perfect for a young lady.”

Meng Han’s eyes brightened upon hearing this, and she eagerly took it, speaking with some excitement, ”A gift, a gift for me?”

”Yes, the dagger is small. If you don’t want your parents to find out, you can tie it to your calf. As long as you walk naturally, most people won’t notice.”

Meng Han nodded quickly, ”I’ll tie it on later, and I’ll get used to it on the way back in no time.”

She happily examined the dagger and discreetly tested its sharpness. Wow, with one slice, a corner of the table was cut off.

Meng Han shrugged her neck and looked at Meng Yunzheng. The latter glanced at the table but said nothing, turning around to take out a Soft Sword.

Meng Han, ”...” Another weapon? Is it for her again?

But Meng Yunzheng said, ”Since I gave you a gift, I shouldn’t leave Meng Qi out. Although I haven’t interacted much with him and am not very close, I am still his older brother. This Soft Sword is for you to give to him on my behalf.”

Meng Han swallowed, surprised at how generous her cousin was.

”Actually, I think you could give my brother the Four Treasures of the Study. Father would be very pleased.” After all, Uncle Meng always hoped his son would excel academically, breaking the Meng family’s supposed curse of having no talent for studies.

Meng Yunzheng simply pushed the sword forward a bit, ”Since it’s for your brother, it should be based on his preferences. Moreover, even scholars benefit from practicing martial arts for health and fitness, and the imperial exams require physical and mental strength. If Uncle knows the sword is from me, he probably won’t oppose it.”

However, whether Ms. Tao would oppose it was unknown. She might even think Meng Yunzheng had ill intentions, not wanting Meng Qi to succeed after achieving the title of Scholar himself, and giving a Soft Sword as a gift was to encourage Meng Qi to abandon his studies for martial arts.

Meng Han didn’t think much of it. She just envied her brother. She also wanted a Soft Sword, but it was too easy to discover.

Forget it, she’ll just walk away with the dagger.

Meng Yunzheng rarely spoke so much to Meng Han, and she suddenly felt her cousin wasn’t so intimidating.

See, at the moment of farewell, he couldn’t bear to let her go, continually reminding her to stay safe, and even giving her gifts, clearly showing he cared deeply for her.

Meng Han set off early the next morning, traveling with Meng Pei and the escort agency’s convoy.

She had a whole carriage to herself, filled with all the things she had gained during her time in Jiangyuan County.

Thinking about leaving this relaxing and joyful place, Meng Han was very reluctant, leaning out the window to wave goodbye to her cousin and friends.

She had never had such an experience, nor had she imagined that one day, when leaving a place, so many friends would come to see her off.
