The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1618: Chapter 1618: Is Ms. Tao Seriously Ill?

But the letter in Meng Han’s hand now, although also sent by Ms. Tao, carries a negative tone.

Meng Han was stunned after reading it, and looking at Shu Yu, who hadn’t left yet, she said in a flustered manner, ”What should I do? Sister Yu, my mother is sick, she’s very ill, I, I have to go back.”

Meng Han, though she didn’t like Ms. Tao favoring Tao Qin, she is still her own mother, and naturally wouldn’t hope for anything to happen to her. She is quite young, and faced with such a situation, she panicked even more.

Shu Yu grabbed her hand, ”Calm down, did the letter say what illness it is?”

Meng Han directly handed the letter to her, ”Take a look.”

Shu Yu quickly scanned it and finished reading it in no time.

The tone of the letter is very urgent, but Ms. Tao didn’t mention what illness it was, only said the doctor advised her to eat better and relax. She also mentioned she misses Meng Han and hopes Meng Han can come back to see her one last time.

One last time??

Shu Yu’s lips twitched, the letter was even sent urgently.

But honestly, it’s really hard to tell if what Ms. Tao said is true or false, although Shu Yu leans towards it being false.

But this is just her assumption. It wouldn’t be appropriate to stop Meng Han from going back because of this.

Meng Han is obviously very nervous; she handed the letter back to her, sighed slightly, ”Don’t panic, your brother is still at home. If it were really serious, they should have notified you directly to return.”

Meng Han was startled, clinging to it like grasping at straws, ”So my mother is okay?”

This is really hard to say.

”...What I mean is, even if she’s really ill, it shouldn’t be that serious.”

Meng Han’s mind finally cleared a little after hearing these words.

Yes, yes, Sister Yu is right, if it really came to that, the letter would have been written by her brother.

She slowly exhaled, looked up at Shu Yu, ”But I still have to go back.”

Shu Yu nodded, looked at the time, ”Yun should be back soon, by then...”

Speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao arrives; before Shu Yu could finish, footsteps of Meng Pei and Meng Yunzheng came from outside the door.

The father and son entered together, and seeing their niece who had been out for a few days return, Meng Pei immediately smiled and said, ”Ah Han, did you have fun in the prefecture these days?”

Meng Yunzheng was quick to notice the slight frown on Shu Yu’s face and Meng Han’s tense expression, so he immediately asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Meng Han took a few quick steps, thinking about the content of the letter, somehow choking on her words, ”Eldest Uncle, Cousin, my mother sent an urgent letter, she said, said she wanted me to see her one last time, what should I do?”

Meng Pei and Meng Yunzheng both felt a thud in their hearts and took the letter from Meng Han to read it.

After a moment, Meng Yunzheng comforted her, ”You should rest well today; tomorrow morning I’ll contact the escort agency to arrange for someone to take you back to Changjin Prefecture.”

Meng Han nodded repeatedly, ”Okay, I’ll listen to Cousin.”

But Meng Pei rubbed his chin and said to the two of them, ”I’ll escort Ah Han back.”

”Dad? Didn’t you say you needed to escort a shipment to the Southern region in a couple of days?”

”That’s no big deal, there’s another batch of goods heading to Huajiang Prefecture, I’ll speak with the Head Escort to switch routes, and I’ll take the Huajiang Prefecture route.”

Huajiang Prefecture is closer to Changjin Prefecture, after the goods are safely delivered, he can personally take Ah Han home, it’s not a big problem.
