The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1627: Chapter 1627: You Are the Victims

Shu Yu looked puzzled, turning to look at Lu Dasong who was standing in the back.

As Shu Yu’s Eldest Uncle, he was the most worried about this matter, so he came along to the county town.

At this moment, he couldn’t help but scratch his head and chuckle twice, whispering to her, “The footprint on his clothes was indeed left when Zhang Qing’s father kicked him in the chaos, but his hair…” was deliberately pulled out by Zhao Xi on the way back.

Even though Lu Dasong didn’t explain the latter part clearly, Shu Yu knew what was going on.

She was suddenly speechless, rubbing her temples.

“Thank you for your hard work, Eldest Uncle.”

“Hey, it’s nothing. But you, are you really planning to report to the authorities?”

Shu Yu nodded, “Where is Zhang Qing?”

“At the screen wall.”

Shu Yu then followed Lu Dasong to the screen wall, where not only Zhang Qing was present but also a middle-aged couple in their forties.

These two were the villagers who planted those two acres of sunflower fields at the village entrance.

Shu Yu remembered their family name was Liang, related to Liang Wangsheng from the past.

She greeted the two of them first, “Thank you, Uncle Liang and Aunt Liang, for making the trip.”

Aunt Liang, being straightforward, said, “What is the Village Chief saying? We should be the ones feeling embarrassed. That scoundrel stole sunflower seeds from our field, and yet we had to bother the Village Chief to stand up for us and give us justice.”

If it weren’t for Shu Yu, even if they caught Zhang Qing, they would have at most beaten him up.

As for Old Master Qian from Donggu County, whom Zhang Qing implicated, they didn’t dare to provoke him. Such frustration of knowing who someone is but being unable to do anything about it left them feeling quite unwilling.

If this were in the past, even the village chief wouldn’t have intervened, letting them resolve it themselves.

What kind of people were the Zhang family? A family capable of raising a rascal like Zhang Qing was no better than thugs themselves, leaving them without any compensation.

Thankfully, Shu Yu stepped forward. Ever since she became the Village Chief, the people in the village had become much more united.

Shu Yu smiled. She did all this partly for her own sake as well.

“Uncle Liang and Aunt Liang, there’s no need for formalities. It’s late today. You two should stay at home here. I’ll have someone arrange your rooms, and after dinner, you should rest early. As for Zhang Qing, I’ll take him to the county office to file a report. It’s late now, and if the county magistrate were to open a court session, it would have to wait until tomorrow. Rest up for now, and then the officers will come to bring you over.”

The Liang couple, initially full of zeal, felt a bit panicky upon hearing they had to appear in court.

“We, we have to meet the county magistrate?”

Shu Yu smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll bring you over tomorrow. Just speak the truth when the magistrate asks questions, and leave the rest to me.”

The couple looked at each other.

Shu Yu added, “Don’t worry, I’ve dealt with the county magistrate before. He’s mild-mannered, and besides, you’re the victims. There’s nothing to fear.”

The two felt somewhat reassured, yes, they were indeed the victims.

Shu Yu then had the servants take them in to rest.

After they left, she looked at Zhang Qing, who was tied up securely. His stature was not tall, and his face was bruised and swollen, indicating he had been beaten up in Shangshi Village.

Indeed, if he weren’t beaten, how would he have confessed so thoroughly, even revealing Old Master Qian’s secrets?

At this moment, Zhang Qing raised his head, seeing her looking at him coldly, and shivered immediately, “D-don’t come over.”

Shu Yu looked down at him condescendingly and said to Ying Xi behind her, “Let’s go to the Office.”
