The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1633: Chapter 1633: This Village Chief Can Sue You Again

Old Master Qian was instantly struck by a realization, his eyes widened in disbelief. He didn’t wait for the witnesses to finish speaking before pointing at Shu Yu and shouting, ”It was her, it was her who did it, Lord, she’s framing me.”

Everyone was taken aback by his sudden scream, their eyes unanimously turned to him, and then followed his finger to look at Shu Yu.

The smile on Shu Yu’s face disappeared without a trace, replaced by a look of suspicion. She immediately stood up in shock and angrily said, ”Old Master Qian, what do you mean? I’m the victim here, I’m the aggrieved party. How come everything you’ve done ends up being my fault in your mouth? I haven’t even said anything yet, and you’re already throwing baseless accusations at me. Are you suffering from some grave illness?!”

Old Master Qian opened his mouth.

But before he could speak, a barrage of questions from Shu Yu hit him, ”Was it I who asked Zhang Qing to steal the sunflower seeds? Was it I who instructed the craftsmen to modify your tea factory? Were those rumors spread by me through the people of Donggu County? Old Master Qian, you should know your limits when speaking carelessly, don’t bite anyone you can. Otherwise, as the Village Chief, I can bring another charge against you.”

Qian Fangli’s heart jolted with fear, suddenly sinking.

The listening Lord Peng pressed his lips tightly, feeling utterly speechless about this person—he’s truly foolish to the core, giving himself up just to save himself.

Lord Fei struck the gavel and asked solemnly, ”Qian Fangli, do you have evidence for these claims? Without it, falsely accusing the Village Chief is an additional crime.”

Qian Fangli of course didn’t have any evidence. He was still confused at this point, having been unexpectedly brought to the prefecture by officers, leaving him no time to collect any evidence.

Facing Shu Yu’s mocking look, Qian Fangli could only grit his teeth, apologize, and close this matter for now, to avoid adding another charge.

Consequently, he shook his head in defeat and said sullenly, ”Lord, I was speaking nonsense just now, in a moment of desperation I spoke recklessly, not intending to falsely accuse. I ask Monarch Lu Xiang for forgiveness.”

Shu Yu snorted softly but didn’t dwell on this point. After all, she was here for the spectacle today and didn’t need to say much. Compared to being accused, the rumor was more severe.

Lord Fei glanced at her, seeing she didn’t speak further, he continued with the trial.

After such a long time, Old Master Qian finally calmed down slowly, and he no longer rambled when answering questions.

However, no matter what, he resolutely refused to admit to any of those deeds, continuously proclaiming his innocence.

Yet, with both testimonial and physical evidence present, Old Master Qian’s stubborn refusal was futile. Lord Fei didn’t have much time to waste on him, and seeing his stubborn denial, was about to resort to using force.

Only then did Old Master Qian become afraid, finally admitting in the end that he had instructed Zhang Qing, and also confessed to altering the factory to produce melon seeds and sunflower oil.

However, he never conceded to the rumor.

Old Master Qian was very aware of the gravity of this matter, and even under Lord Fei’s coercion, he still gritted his teeth and refused to admit it.

All the while weeping, he cried out, ”Lord Justice, witness the truth, I truly didn’t do it, these testimonies from the commoners can’t prove that I’m the one who spread the words.”

Lord Fei frowned, this point was indeed correct.

The inquiry reached an impasse at this point, and Lord Fei could only send people to Donggu County to investigate, to see where the initial rumor originated.
