The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1612: Chapter 1612: Madam Li Fears Yu Fenglin

Shu Yu went to the prefecture the next day to check on the situation at Lu’s.

Wei Ronghua showed her the account books from the past few days and reported on the recent business activities.

Currently, the business at Lu’s has stabilized. Although it’s not as bustling as the first day, the daily income is still good.

Moreover, on the day of the lottery, a family preparing for a wedding unexpectedly bought a lot of melon seeds for their guests. Many people who attended the wedding banquet loved them and returned to Lu’s to make purchases.

While listening to Wei Ronghua, Shu Yu quickly went through the account books.

Wei Ronghua truly has strong abilities; he’s not only managing the shop in an orderly manner but also takes the opportunity to mentor Ren Yiping and An Letian.

Both staff members are eager learners, absorbing the experiences like sponges and becoming increasingly capable.

Shu Yu closed the account book, ”Not bad. I’ll rely on Manager Wei to keep an eye on things. If it’s effective, we might consider opening another shop in North City in some time.”

Wei Ronghua’s eyes lit up; he naturally hoped for Lu’s to grow stronger.

With everything going well at Lu’s, Shu Yu didn’t stay long and soon returned to the workshop. Since she planned to open a branch shop, the current production at the workshop was not enough.

Luckily, when she returned to the village a couple of days ago, many people approached her expressing interest in planting sunflowers.

Shu Yu was contemplating further expansion, so she called several stewards for a meeting.

Daniu hadn’t returned yet, as he needed to go to the groom’s house with Erniu today.

Lanhua would return home tomorrow, so he wouldn’t be back for a few days.

However, the stewards at the workshop now had enough experience to handle things independently. Even without her and Daniu, the workshop could run smoothly.

Regarding the land that Dazhuang mentioned for purchase nearby, many responded positively. The land price had indeed increased a bit, causing Dazhuang and the others quite a headache.

Shu Yu advised them to buy as early as possible, as the land prices here were unlikely to drop.

In the future, this area might even become a school district.

Shu Yu stayed at the Manor for a couple of days until Daniu returned, and then she went back to the county town.

Just as she reached her doorstep, she bumped into Lanhua and her husband.

Lanhua, now married, exuded a completely different vibe, standing beside the tall and broad Yu Fenglin, appearing especially petite and shy.

Shu Yu clicked her tongue, leading the two inside to see the old lady.

The old lady watched them come hand in hand, her eyes crinkling with joy, and while Lanhua and her husband were drinking tea, she softly said to Shu Yu, ”It’s easy to see if a person is doing well after marriage. This child Fenglin may look fierce, but he surely cares for his wife.”

Although these words were spoken softly, Lanhua, who was nearby, heard them clearly.

Her face suddenly turned beet red, and she whispered almost inaudibly, ”Grandmother.”

The old lady chuckled, ”Alright, alright, I won’t say more to spare you the embarrassment. How was the visit home yesterday?”

Lanhua nodded, ”It was fine. Father and Fenglin got along well, and Mother...” She paused, then confidently said, ”Mother is also satisfied with Fenglin.”

In fact, her mother was somewhat intimidated by Yu Fenglin. Even though he hadn’t said or done anything, just his stern face made Madam Li, who wanted to order him around as a son-in-law, fall silent instantly, wishing to keep her distance.

This situation was hard for Lanhua to articulate, so she changed the subject, ”By the way, during this visit, I heard about Xu Cai’s business...”
