The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1626: Chapter 1626: Try to Be a Decent Person from Now On

Zhao Xi suddenly felt a bit sympathetic towards the Qian Family; Old Master Qian seemed quite irrational.

Stealing once wasn’t enough, and he did it a second time.

Did he think that because Shu Yu didn’t confront him last time, she must have no backing and wouldn’t dare to clash with him, so he continued to push his luck?

He didn’t even consider that last time Shu Yu was busy opening her store with many things on her plate and without much evidence, she let him off the hook. Well now, she has time on her hands, and evidence delivered to her. Anyone with a bit of spirit wouldn’t miss this opportunity.

And as it happens, Shu Yu is not just spirited, she is highly spirited.

Zhao Xi shook his head, quietly turned around and returned to the front hall, huffing as he picked up the things Shu Yu had bought from the table.

Just as Shu Yu turned around, she saw him draped in bags, ”What are you doing?”

”Aren’t these all for our Little Huohuo?”

Shu Yu was silent, ”...” So you’re quite pleased to carry them, I see.

Seeing Zhao Xi already wobbling with gift boxes that blocked his view as he headed for the door, Shu Yu quickly took two steps forward, blocking him and taking down the gift boxes one by one.

Zhao Xi frowned, ”Aren’t they for Little Huohuo?” This second aunt isn’t really doing her job well.

Shu Yu said, ”They are for my little nephew, but giving gifts in person shows sincerity. I’ll take these myself. Since you’re free, why don’t you run over to Shangshi Village and bring Zhang Qing here?”

Zhao Xi gaped, ”Who said I’m free? I still have to take care of your sister during her confinement and look after our obedient son, I’m quite busy. Besides, why bring Zhang Qing over?”

”Of course, to report to the county office. I can’t go straight to the prefecture without going through the process, can I?”

”What process?”

Shu Yu was already walking off with the gift boxes, what process? Naturally, to bring Zhang Qing and accuse him of theft.

Since the main culprit is Old Master Qian, the county magistrate will need to hold court and will inevitably send someone to Donggu County to negotiate with the magistrate there.

Once in Donggu County, after hearing the rumors she had Dazhuang spread... then the case would no longer be something two county magistrates would dare to handle, it could be transferred to the government office.

This process naturally falls into place, doesn’t it?

Zhang Qing is now in Shangshi Village, being watched over by Fan Zhong and others.

But his home, Dayan Village, isn’t far away, and the Zhang family would certainly cause a fuss if they heard the news. Shu Yu didn’t want to face such a chaotic scene, while Zhao Xi, lately, apart from carrying his son around the house or chatting with his wife, had nothing much to do.

Shu Yu gave him a chance to go out and see the beautiful scenery outside, how considerate?

”By the way, don’t forget to bring the victim along too.”

After Shu Yu finished speaking, she turned a corner and disappeared.

Zhao Xi stood there and let out a long breath, looking up at the sky, truly... an incompetent little sister-in-law.

Despite thinking this, he dutifully changed his clothes and headed off to Shangshi Village.

Zhao Xi didn’t return until evening, looking rather bad; his beige clothes bore a distinctly visible footprint, and a lock of his hair was out of place, making him appear quite disheveled.

Shu Yu softly asked him, ”Were you beaten?”

Zhao Xi snorted, ”From now on, be a decent person, treat your brother-in-law better.”

After saying this, he walked away, leaving Shu Yu frowning. It shouldn’t have been like this, there were many people in Shangshi Village, and Fan Zhong was there. Could it be that Zhang Qing’s family couldn’t be stopped?

Or did many people come from Dayan Village?

No way, Zhang Qing is just a good-for-nothing.
